Very small. Not enough cardio machines. Only 1 stair stepper. Very dusty and the roof leaks. Moldy smell in the cardio room.

Beautiful basketball court and nice staff. I was here every Thursday for the past 8 weeks for the men's fall basketball league.

I've been a member of the Strouds fitness family for 10 years. During that time I've dabbled in…read moreother box or boutique gyms, but no matter what I always find myself back at Strouds. Kirk cares enough about his members to learn their names, their stories, and always welcomes you back with a smile. The gym itself doesn't scream "saunas and shiny wax floors" but you can tell as soon as you walk in that Strouds has been put together with intention and held together by the community that calls Strouds home. The equipment is well loved and not the newest, but there's a little bit of everything. Cardio Queen? Jump on the treadmill, stationary bike, or stair master. Meat Head? There's an entire room dedicated to being stronger than the person next to you. Fighter? There's also a room for punching and rolling around on the floor. See! Strouds has everything and welcomes everyone. You'll be better off for joining, promise!

Look this gym used to be my favorite place to be, and honestly even tho i am leaving i still wish…read morethe best for it. There are some things to look out for if you are considering this gym: 1. Be careful and read the contracts, i think they do an okay job with telling you, but remember canceling you have to "give" (whatever that's considered) a 30 day notice 2. When i left, there was no grace, the young blonde lady had some attitude and wasn't really friendly at all, (after i've been trying cancel for months but was pushed back or avoided some how) and that attitude kind of hurt because it made me feel like if i wanted to come back, i don't want to come back to that. In conclusion, it used to be a serious powerlifting/body building gym to be at, but it's slightly declined with that culture (i believe it's still there tho, and i've heard good things about their dojo) and if you aren't looking to go to a gym for that, than quite frankly the price just doesn't make sense, it will be easily 30+ dollars a month maybe a little cheaper if you get a contract. but there are gyms out there (and soon to be down the street) that are cheaper and with better equipment and facilities at that. look i've had some serious good workouts in the past there, and for the most part there is kind people, (some a little judgy) i just hate the bad taste left from that awfully passive aggressive conversation about canceling. but honestly Strouds is trying and you can tell, but just be aware of all that. Good luck

My 24hr fitness permanently closed so this was really the only convenient option, but I'm really…read moreglad I ended up joining. The atmosphere is much better and you can tell people take their workout seriously. It is smaller and there's some equipment I miss, but overall its a better gym. Staff seems friendly and I see them clean quite a bit. Don't really ever have to wait for a rack as they have 2 platform half racks and another one in a different area that has a landmine. The machines I've used feel pretty smooth and I notice pretty much everyone wipes them down when they're done. They have 3 bench press stations that are pretty sweet! You can change the angle in increments of 5% on decline and incline. Something I also really like is they have a nice standing and seated calf machine. Also a pretty good variety of attachments for the pulley machines. Wish they had heavier dumbbells though, as I can't do DB rows with straps anymore unless I wanna do like 40+ reps. I know that sounds crazy, but when you strap up you'd be surprised how much you're limiting your back gainz yo. But they have a landmine where you can load the weight up and do the same type of row. Oh and if you know what a glute ham raise is they have it! I love that thing and have been using it twice a week and am still getting stronger at it. They have a cool turf area in the back where you can do a variety of things, but unfortunately all it can take is 1 person in the area and you can no longer drag the sled/tire around or do farmer walks which are things I really like to do. Also, I honestly feel kind of bad when I do it because I feel like I'm hogging the area. If there was just a little more square feet it would be absolutely perfect. The only really legit complaint I have is the water temperature is not consistent in the showers(its usually cold or lukewarm). If that could be fixed that would be great. Cold water is fine now, but its pretty miserable once you get to the winter time. Even with a few things I don't like I highly recommend this gym and think that you will really like it too!

These guys have HORRIBLE hours. Straight up, the place is closed on Sunday. All Sundays. You know that day of the week that you actually have time to go to the gym? These guys don't care. "Not in the budget." That's the first logistical issue, but there's more. The gorgeous new pool that just got a huge expensive renovation is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. And that's it. Mind you there's still swim classes and afterschool events that happen at this pool which means they cram a year's worth of use into 3.5 months in one of the few local outdoor public pools you can use without an expensive season pass. With the weather being warm from April until October now, this pool should be open at least 6 months out of the year. The actual facility hours are just too narrow considering the clientele. You can tell it's a busy Y when you roll up to the parking lot on a Saturday morning, the lot's full, and somehow these guys want to close at 3! If a gym is open on the weekend, the soonest they should close is 5. I've had great experiences here, but the weekend hours are terrible. Every once in a while the kids go unchecked here, but that's normal at any YMCA. Staff should keep an eye on kids using the weight machines in the actual gym area. Please address the lack of hours for this facility.
