I've been here a couple of times now for dinner with my family, and I can only say that the food is "okay" at best. I was excited to see the place open, only to be disappointed both times I've been there. What I've had so far are the Steamed Clams (couldn't taste the clams, only the garlic), Crab and Shrimp Dip (Was alright), Gyro Sandwich (Was alright), the Hook Platter (The oysters were alright, but the fish and prawns were very dry and tough), the Fettuccini Alfredo (was two bites and couldn't eat it because it was overly cheesy, if that's possible), and the Seafood Diablo (which is supposed to be a spicy tomato based marinara, was anything but. It looked more like a spicy butter sauce, without any tomatoes). I will say that this place is nice for drinking and walking home. I like the bar area and the staff is friendly. I'm thinking this is an appetizer and drinks only kind of place for now. I really hope they improve, because I really want to like this place. read more

TERRIBLE! We were very excited for the opening of this restaurant....any new restaurant in Edmonds get us excited since they are all PACKED almost every night. Atmosphere: Cheap and Cold - not terrible but they certainly could do with some candlelight, a few flowers and some art on the mostly bare walls. Staff: A little underwhelming Wine Menu: Not great - a couple of Italian, but comparable to an airport bar Menu: At first glance - looks great Food: First up was Cesar Salad - bulk processed shredded parm...exactly like a Bag-O-Salad you would buy at your local grocery. Second was the sautéed calamari piccata...in two words....bland rubber. No seasoning, no sear, capers right out of the brine...inedible. Main course - signature dish Alaskan Cod Piccata. BLAND, no seasoning, frozen broccoli (really???? It's twice as expensive and there is NOTHING you can do to disguise the awful flavor of frozen broccoli. It is probably the one vegetable that is inedible after being frozen.). It was claimed to come with garlic pasta that is freshly made by Carsos pasta in Mountlake Terrace......ummmmm, not the case. We were served the equivalent of Rice-A-Roni with no seasoning and tossed with that same processed cheap shredded parm from the salad. In finish - $81 dinner that is sub-par to any low end dinner or airport meal we have ever had the displeasure to have eaten. Advice - FRESH - HANDCUT - HAND GRATED - SEASONING - HOUSE MADE. Went out for dinner last night. Ordered clam linguine. Wasn't satisfying my craving so I asked for a side of Alfredo to just dump on top.... 35 minutes it took. My food was cold, everyone else was done eating, people around me got their food. I remained calm. It happens. I found it odd that a manager hadn't stopped by at all. They didn't charge me for the side and bought me a dessert which was nice... But 35 minutes? Finally the bill came... My food was not comped which we were under the impression it was going to be. So I paid my bill then asked if there was a manager on duty. Turns out the bartender was the manager. She had walked past our table multiple times throughout our visit without saying a word. She came over and I asked if she was aware a side of sauce took over 30 minutes. She said yes but the server said we were fine. So because I wasn't a rude, angry guest and didn't flip out on my server who was not at fault, that warrants no apology from management or even to check in???? Turns out she is the owner. I gave her an ear full on how a simple apology from a manager goes a long way... She says " well im apologizing now ". I am a supervisor in a restaurant and under no circumstance would a manager ever NOT come and apologize and check on things. They would also not allow it to take 35 minutes for a side of sauce. They would be in the kitchen making sure it was the next thing out of the window. Maybe if you were actually focused on all guests in your restaurant not just the ones that are tipping you personally, you might have made a regular out of me. I just came from eating dinner here. The waitress was very pleasant. I specifically told her how I wanted my salmon cooked on the medium rare side. It was totally over cooked. I didn't say anything because she didn't come back to our table until the meal was over. The food didn't impress me. I can cook way better. read more

I was looking froward to a new Edmonds restaurant and was sadly disappointed with my meal. I ordered Fish and chips and my fish was Luke warm at best and it had no flavor. There was no lemon or malt vinegar served with the fish. The serving size of the two piece cod was small. When your under the pretense that your a seafood restaurant, the quality should be higher than the other fast food fish place in town. read more

This place is great! The staff is solid so your experience will be great! The food is good, better than most pubs. But what I am looking for when I go out is to be treated nicely and they have that nailed. Prices were right and beers were on point! Very good, excellent flavor, filling potions. Started with crab & shrimp dip, more than enough for 2. I had Hook's Seafood Salad, my husband had Hook 's Seafood Platter, both excellent. A variety of desserts offered, however we were both to full to try any. Maybe next time. Only suggestion, go early or you may have a 30 -60 minute wait to get a table. read more

I've eaten at the Hook multiple times and every visit the dining experience has been awesome. The whole staff is so friendly and happy to help you in anyway. The House steamers which has fresh Penn Cove mussels and clams in a cioppino like sauce is the best and the bake Feta cheese with Pita bread and a bowl of clam chowder and a cold Breakaway IPA is on the top of my list. I had the "hook platter" and the fish tasted like it was not fresh. All of the fish were oily, fishy, and the oysters were watery and had a really gross texture and taste to them. The cod and halibut were slightly chewy and the panko breading also seemed at least a day old. The french fries were overly salted and all of it came on a bed of wilted lettuce. read more

This has to be one of the worst dining experiences. Yelp reviews were great so we decided to try on a Sunday afternoon. The service was atrocious even though the restaurant was only a quarter full. Waitress took forever to get us water and menus. Waited and waited for check and finally had to go up to her. We ordered an appetizer, a salad to share and separate entrees. In stead of staggering the presentation, everything came at once. The salad was limp and white. They didn't even bother to give us lettuce that was green. The appetizer was supposed to come with homemade aioli. What a joke! It tasted like Miracle Whip. I had salmon on a bed of wilted spinach. Salmon was dry and inedible- took it home for my dog. Spinach was extremely greasy. How sad were we. The food was ok, very pricey for what you get. Service was horrible. The place seems very unorganized and unprofessional. High end pricing, but my silver ware was wrapped in a paper napkin and my water served in a plastic glass! My pasta came with their house bread, this came to the table in a plastic basket with paper half way through our wait. Everyone helped themselves not realizing this was part of my meal! One of our party ordered the Cod and chips. The wait person returned to say that they were out of the Cod but she could order the Halibut. When the bill came she was charged the extra $4.00 dollars. Two pieces of overcooked fish was certainly not worth $15.00. We had to wait forever to be waited on, served and then for out bill. It appears that no one is in charge. We watched the Hostess walk out during the dinner rush to have a smoke and then one of the kitchen crew did the same thing! Yuck...We will no be returning. read more

Great first visit!! Perrinville has needed a restaurant and bar for years and this place is a great addition. Kelly was the server and she was very pleasant, knowledgeable and efficient. I was going to have seafood since that is their specialty but they had rack of lamb as one of the specials and for under $20 so I had that plus a cup of bean soup and both were excellent. My friend had a cheeseburger which came on a nice ciabatta bun but it could have been better with pickles and maybe some thousand island dressing since it was a little dry. Very good fries though and the beer was cold, always a good thing! Was such a good experience that I will definitely be back and can't wait to try the seafood! read more

Great neighborhood place, the food and the service great! Only 4 stars because if you don't want a drink with alcohol it is either tea....or soda with high fructose corn syrup...so just plain old pop. It would be nice if the had some higher end soft drinks to offer rather than just the usual fountain Coke, Minute Maid, etc. Great otherwise. read more

Absolutely the BEST SEAFOOD PLATTER I've ever ate and i've had more than a few in my travels Maine,Key West,Miami,South Beach,Galveston and several others) fresh AND the cooked perfectly and that is not easy w/ 5 different items on one plate ALL requiring different times,temps etc no easy task for the Chef outstanding culinary skills and the price is so low for the meal I'm wondering how are these people making a profit thanks Trish and Taki BEST SEAFOOD fresh and done right oh and normally I slide the fries and coleslaw out of the WAY comes with meal) I gave the coleslaw a try and then the fries needless to say I took a side of coleslaw to GO was so GOOD forgot to try a dessert I Predict Great Success p.s. The over all quality of the food has decreased drastically in the past month. This used to be a regular place that I would visit but now it doesn't even come up when I am thinking of a place to go. Instead of focusing on high quality food it just seems to be another burger joint. Not only has the food quality gone down but I have also noticed the lack of respect that the owner seems to have for the staff. I used to be excited to try the specials now the place is just nothing special. If you want to go to a place that serves sub par food then go here otherwise take your money and appetite elsewhere. Okay but definitely not gluten friendly - I've been here twice; once for lunch with my sister and again with my husband who is gluten intolerant. Lunch was quite good. We shared the salt and pepper calamari which was perfectly cooked. She had the rice soup and I had a very good Greek salad which was served with a vinaigrette and I think tzatziki sauce. Dinner with my husband was a bit of a different story. The waitress told us this was a Greek restaurant (at which we've typically had good luck finding gluten free (GF) options). However, according to the menu, all the seafood was panko breaded and all the entrees were served with pasta. We told the waitress about the dietary restriction and she said she really couldn't help; that what is on the menu is what they can do. She said they had always had "house starch" as an option which alternated between risotto and something else, and unfortunately tonight it was orzo. I'd thought fries might be an option, but thankfully, she did let us know that the fries were panko coated as well so we avoided that potential disaster. Husband ended up ordering a salad, specifically requesting no croutons. The salad came, but with pita around the edges. I really think that most wait staff would have figured that out after our conversation. I had fish n chips which was okay. Definitely won't be back with my husband. read more

HORRIBLE... Went in for the 1st time this evening at 5:00 with 7 other people for my daughters birthday... At the time the restaurant was barely busy and the visit started out good. After ordering food and waiting for it for 30mins we started to notice others getting food before us when they arrived after us. We asked about our food and she gave us a bread basket to tide us over ... Now after 45 min. When we finally get our food one person at the table Doesn't receive their fish and chips and had to wait another 20min .... At the end of the visit SHE HANDS HIM A BILL .. I looked at her and asked in a normal tone ARE YOU REALLY GONNA CHARGE HIM FOR HIS MEAL? ... The waitress looks at me with a blank stare and says nothing ... So I pointed out WE WAITED 45mins for food and he waited an hour- he got his food after most of us were about done- SHE THEN SNATCHES THE BILL BACK AND LITERALLY THROWS THE OTHER 2 BILLS AT ME AND MY MOTHER N LAW ON THE TABLE AND WALKS OFF. Another waitress comes to deal with us and finds out what happens and as were explaining ... The previous waitress comes up and says that I yelled at her in front of everybody in the restaurant. Total lie! Everyone at table said that never happened and then we where handed back all the bills except the fish and chips ... NO APOLOGY WAS MADE AND THE COMMENT THAT CAME OUT OF HER MOUTH WAS ... WE ONLY HAVE 2 COOKS AND YOU DIDN'T CALL FOR A RESERVATION .... Really!? out of all the places i ate in when i was in washington, this place was the best. the atmosphere was nice as well.

We have enjoyed this grill since they opened. It's close enough, we can walk from the house. We probably go there once week, and we particularly like late afternoon Happy Hour. So comes today ( Valentines Day) we arrive at just after 3:00 and into the bar for Happy Hour. We order drinks, but then are told no Happy Hour menu today - they have a special Valentines Day menu (but it doesn't start until 4:00). So we asked to see the VD menu, but again were told it wouldn't start for an hour. We were given Lunch menus. We order from Lunch menu, but than are told they don't have Lunch Menu today. So, no Happy Hour menu, can't order the VD menu for an hour and although we were given Lunch Menus, they won't take order from it. Hmmmm - sounds like really poor planning on their part (and BTW, no signs, etc. on the door Happy Hour and Lunch Menus were not available. Needless to say we were unhappy, drank the drinks we had ordered (before the menu fiasco), and left, Not happy. read more
