Great Service and a Beautiful Garden Center in Oceanside The Home Depot in Oceanside is one of the best-run locations I've visited. The store is clean, well-stocked, and easy to get around, whether you're shopping for hardware, tools, or home upgrades. The garden center is absolutely beautiful--so many healthy, vibrant plants and a great variety to choose from. I even found a couple of rare houseplants I hadn't seen anywhere else, which was a fun surprise. It's definitely worth a stop if you're into gardening or just want to freshen up your space. The staff here are helpful and knowledgeable. One associate took the time to walk me through a plumbing question and helped me find exactly what I needed. That kind of service really makes a difference. Fast checkout, easy parking, and a pleasant atmosphere throughout the store. I have to give kudos to the gentleman working in the tools department. I can't remember his name even though I really wanted to give him a shout out. He is an Asian gentleman probably in his fifties. Anyway, I haven't received customer service like what he provided in a very long time. He went out of his way to find something for me which included him having to get a ladder and move half way across the store. Climb to the very top shelf to grab the item I was looking for. As someone who was fed up with Home Depot due to a poor experience in the past, this team member changed my perception. I am now a returning customer to the Home Depot. I think retailers need to understand that as consumers we can just go on Amazon and get what we need most of the time. However, when you create great experiences through amazing customer service it brings us into the stores. Hire more people like this man and more people should learn from him. read more

Worst customer service in lumber I've ever had. I went in today with exact measurements needed for wood to be cut to build up my trailer. I went to the wood cutting guy in lumber, an older guy, and he treated me like I was an idiot for asking questions. He then directed me to pressure treated wood. I asked if he could cut that wood for me, which he replied "I don't cut that here!" and walked off. Two customers next to me heard the whole thing and said that was the rudest person they have seen here. I walked out. Going to Lowe's. Was going to buy power tools too but I'll buy those from Lowe's now. Never shopping at Home Depot again. Terrible read more

They offer a wide variety of products here. You can find just about anything you need for home repair, etc. We had them install a garage door. They sent someone to my home to do an inspection and the installation price went way up based on the inspection. We expected the job to be completely finished within a few weeks. It, however, took a long time for them to get the installation scheduled. About seven weeks passed before they completed the job. That was disappointing. Home Depot is great if you need building materials but they seem to be a bit slow if you need them to install something. read more

There was a young Hispanic female at the return dept and I asked for a refund for some items I purchased days ago. I am a pro account holder that spends 10's of thousands of dollars month. I believe my return was about 109.00 and she refused to to give me cash because she said there is no money throughout the entire store. As a contractor, time is money and when you have to drive miles to buy or return items, there is time, gas, and waiting losses. Home Depot put tile down in my bathroom and a couple weeks later we noticed that that was a bubble, which had water in it and we never had waters or leakage before they did that so they did not put down the right sealer to seal it because there's no leakage from the toilet of the bathtub so before and we never saw any water and when Call back to repair it, they said that they were not responsible so I rate them very low and I think it's irresponsible for me to pay for work from them and then they say that they're not responsible well I didn't do the work read more

First off, let me start with saying Diego "like San Diego" (as he said with a smile) was a rockstar and should be given a raise and accolades because he was the ONLY willingly helpful person in this store. We came in to purchase a grill and literally stood around asking for help for over 35 minutes before he came around. After 50 minutes and we still hadn't gotten the grill off the top shelving unit. Diego made several calls and went to the back a few times to find someone with a lift to help us. Thankfully 2 individuals came and operated the lift and helped us out. I understand running a skeleton crew overnight but it's a weekday during shopping hours. I cannot believe how understaffed Home Depot is keeping this store. If I didn't want this grill, I would have walked out and gone to Lowe's where people actually are willing to help. Very very frustrating experience. read more

Pro desk is of little help as they can only tell what you already know (inventory wise). Asking someone to physically check for something? Forget about it. The employees here like Sergio, Kelly and some other Hispanic woman are bad at explaining things or dealing with phone calls. For example I bought a new Bosch dishwasher and everything went well until the installer told us they couldn't haul it away because it was a hazard due to cockroach droppings inside the unit. Kelly never told us about this in the initial rundown of what to expect with the delivery service. I had to later on get ahold of WM to haul the unit away. Another time, I bought a Samsung washing machine and the same process happened again. The installer couldn't install the washer without having brand new hoses attached to the unit. So the washing machine was never connected and the woman who sold us the unit never explained that. I get a call back from Sergio regarding the hoses for installment and he himself didn't explain the process very well either. I asked him if I could get the original receipt and protection plan booklet back and he told me that info is on an email sent to me. I told him I get that but I would like everything original in paper form handed back to me. It ended up as a back and forth match. I don't get why employees argue with customers when it's not needed. Just a simple yes goes a long way Sergio. Moral of the story, most employees here don't know what's going on or weren't trained well enough on dealing with the process of installing appliances. To add to that they also don't understand that if a customer wants his original receipts back you just say yes and end the call. SO ANNOYING SERGIO. As we continue to wait for additional parts that were not included with our dishwasher purchase (we were not allowed to return the appliance despite being misled in our ourchase and on the return policy), we are now experiencing ancillary problems. Because we are unable to install our new dishwasher, we have now experienced flooding in our kitchen as we hand wash every dish we use. The pressure from the sink water going down the drain and pushing through the drain tube of the old dishwasher resulted in water building up within the dishwasher, then seeping out and flooding our floors. Appliance buyers beware. Please be sure to ask if everything you need to install your appliance is included (even things that have normally come with past appliance purchases or are brand specific parts). Do not depend on the appliance sales staff to properly inform you about your purchase. If you do not verify and confirm the parts needed, you will be stuck with an appliance that you can not properly install or return, and you may need to wait for brand specific parts to arrive. Also, no appliance from Home Depot is returnable or refundable after purchase; only replaceable if damaged. Keep this in mind because Home Depot's staff will not explicitly tell you this. They will just staple the notice to your receipt AFTER they have finalized your purchase. read more

After having a cabinet fall off, suddenly at 4 AM, night before last, my entire cabinet, holding all of my dishes, fell completely off the wall and into pieces. The seller of the Manufactured Home had not secure the cabinetry. This caused me to lose hundreds/thousands of dollars worth of antiques, sentimental items, as well as every dish and cut I owned. We live in a tiny house, and this is/WAS THE ONLY FULL-SIZE WALL-HANGING CABINET IN THE ENTIRE HOME. We just came to Home Depot, this location, to try to locate a cabinet that might match, as close as possible, to the cabinet we had in our kitchen. When we arrived at Home Depot just now, a fair-skinned, blonde, young woman was sitting down there at a desk. She kindly asked if she could help, but then, when we told her what we needed, she stated she, "would love to help, but that she was already on overtime." We then asked to speak to somebody who worked with cabinets. She said, "I can try to call somebody over to come help, but the guy who works with cabinetry is gone for the day. Home Depot: Does this sound like you or YOUR EMPLOYEES want to earn our hard earned money?? I suppose of the 50+ people who are probably working there now/today, there's not a single person capable of being of assistance? We had cash in hand, ready to make a purchase just now. This review is long overdue. We placed a significant order for bulk gravel for a deck under construction, scheduling delivery 10 days in advance. The delivery was set for the day before our contractors required it. On the day of delivery, I called mid-day to confirm the delivery time. The Home Depot representative assured me that the truck was out for delivery. However, at 6 PM on the scheduled delivery day, I received a call notifying me that the gravel bulk bags were not on the truck, and my order was canceled. The store manager did her best to arrange delivery first thing the following morning, but was unable to secure the time. It's worth noting that Home Depot employs a third-party truck company for deliveries. What disappointed me the most was the lack of a formal apology or any form of compensation for the inconvenience. We had to scramble and pay more for gravel to meet our contractor's deadline for the next step in building the deck. In addition, we had to go to the store to get our refund. This location is my second favorite in the county to shop at: it's the closest to my new house, and though I may not know the staff here as well as I now do the ones at the Vista store, they're always very friendly and helpful. The supervisors/ department managers who know the most about the available products they carry are not typically at the store until closing, which can be a bummer for people like me that hate shopping in huge stores during peak hours (too many other humans to be adulting around!), but I have left my phone number at the desk located in that section and the employees on duty have always been great about having the manager get back to me when they finally do come in the next morning. It's a little out of the way for anyone further west, so this location is not generally as crowded as the Vista store. Also; if you're walking around slack-jawed because there are eleventy million types of handles for a cabinet and you're not quite sure which you need, there's always someone with a big smile and a bright orange apron who will pop up and help you...even if it's not their department or their expertise. Home Depot also sells a book for $20 that is a brief overview of almost every DIY project you can think of, and for people like me who have technological issues and cannot navigate YouTube, it's nice to have a giant book that touches briefly on everything from wall anchors to cabinet installation, painting, and drywall repair. They've also got a guarantee on their plants - for those of you who enjoy growing your own food (I've bought many kinds of food bearing trees and bushes as well as hanging tomatoes and strawberries, veggies and vine type edible plants - I use my landscaping as a double for harvesting my own food - canning and freezing what might be needed to late through barren months and leaving me enough to have a basket at the end of my driveway with excess foodstuffs...if they're not taken by someone who needs them that day, I take them to the local food bank - whoa, tangents!) Anyway, if you buy any plant (food or otherwise) they guarantee it - if your plant happens to die, just keep the container and receipt and they will be happy to refund or give you store credit. One last caveat...they also have a 10% military discount - just show your card at checkout! DIY projects can be daunting, but the feeling you get when you know you have done the thing yourself that improves or fixes your biggest investment and asset in life is absolutely priceless. When the weed whacker I purchased from a friend broke after a week of using it, I went to this Home Depot, hoping that someone who is nice, easy to talk to and knowledgeable will take a look and give me some suggestions as to if it can be repaired, and if it is not, which weed whacker is the best for my needs. That's exactly what Tom did for me! Tom was kind, looked at my broken weed whacker and suggested me a couple of things I can do, trying to fix it. I then took the broken weed whacker to a repair shop, but the repair cost estimate was very expensive, and I decided to buy a new one. When I returned to the Home Depot a couple of days later to buy a new weed whacker, Tom again carefully listed to me, asked me questions to assess my needs (like how big my property is, how often I use it, what kind of glasses/bushes on my property, etc.), explained everything I needed to know to decide which weed whacker to buy (like gas-operated vs. electrical weed whackers, CA regulations on the gas weed whackers, which ones are for a bigger (or smaller) property, etc.). With his advice, I bought a new one, and I am 100% happy with the one I purchased! Also, I wanted to buy an extra battery to go with the new one I was purchasing, Tom took me to another department (which sells all batteries), introduced me to the manager of that department and made sure that I would get the right size battery that fits my needs! Throughout the process, Tom was kind/nice, easy to talk to, and carefully listened to me. He has great technical knowledge and made sure that I would get the best one that meets my needs. Because the Vista Way store is such a nightmare, when I shop online at HD I have used this location - Oceanside N - as "my store". OK. I'm doing a big reno of my rental condo. Ordered three sinks - 2 bathroom and 1 kitchen. Shopping cart said available for next day delivery and Delivery Free - so I picked that option. OK, all good except their website is not to be trusted. I'm not naive, I have run into these issues in the past. I'm 73 and have health issues. This order was almost $700. I have several thousand dollars of other materials in my "save for later" list. Which I now will not be ordering due to the BS and crap service. We are living in the age of corporate greed and incompetence. I was expecting the 3 sinks to be delivered today. At 7 a.m., I get an email that the stainless kitchen sink is delayed and could be delayed for up to 5 business days. Not acceptable for my construction schedule. So I go back online and note that they have this sink IN STOCK in the much hated Vista Way location. So I get on the chat and the representative says they are cancelling the delayed stainless sink from my original order. And they reordered the sink for local pickup by me. OK. So I drive over to the Vista Way location, got some help loading it in the car, managed to get it to the garage of the condo I'm renovating. Thought all good. But NO! Incompetence rears its ugly head once again. About 4 pm I got another email that the original sink had SHIPPED! Called another HD moron on their toll free number and got some BS that cancellations are "not guaranteed" or some Corporate America type excuse. I checked my credit card and sure enough, my original $700 order was there, with NO REFUND from the chat person, but they managed to charge me AGAIN for the replacement sink. Second "representative" was totally lame and offered me no solutions except to wait for the second sink and return it to the store. I will never shop at Home Depot again. Sadly, Lowe's is just as bad. It's a terrible time to be a consumer. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service of any store I've ever been to. At least five associates near the contractors desk doing nothing, but laughing, and on their phones cannot be bothered to put effort into answering a question . All of them completely lazy, and could care less. Used excuses like Home Depot policy. We cannot help you with that. As a general contractor, we spend at least $25,000 a month with Home Depot. It's too bad what the company has become. Of course they were amazing when they first opened. Forcing all of the smaller material companies out of business and once that was done, they start upping profits by less employees with zero experience and zero desire to do a damn thing. . Did some research for 5 gallon paint buckets and home depot was having an amazing sale that I couldn't pass up to redo my walls before my new future is delivered. Made my way out here to only find the princess didn't match the website. I sone to an associate, Linda, who indicated that if it's an online sale, they won't honor it, but the site didn't specify that. She looked on their store website and it also was showingfull price. I went on my phone went through their website and confirmed a far less expensive price. Linda contacted manager and they said that they were not going to honor the sale price. Linda then reach out to their DM and recieved the same response. Upset and frustrated Linda asked me to hold on and she spoke to the manager once more and convinced him/her to honor the price because all the tine I took to research and drive my way out there!!! She is an amazing associate!!! She was friendly and went up to bat for me. Most associates would not have gone to even the first step. So a big THANK YOU to Linda!!! I live closer to the Home Depot off of Vista Way but I drive an extra 15 minutes to go to this Home Depot. The people are soooo much more professional and willing to help. Ryan the manager is awesome, April the flooring lady is awesome and Kelly in the counter top department is amazing! She answered every single question we had about the Quartz. Christina and Carol who work in the paint department are also amazing! They came out to our house to help us pick the right type of paint for our project. The last time I was at the Home Depot on Vista Way the manager said there was no way he could look up my account. I had to tell him how to do it by entering my SS # on the keypad. At that point he said oh yeah I guess I could do it that way. Was he just being lazy? I asked the lady who worked in the flooring department a question and she told me to look it up on the Home Depot website. It seemed she was talking to a friend on the phone and didn't want to be bothered. It you want your needs met quickly and professionally go to the Home Depot off of Mission.
