This is the closest Home Depot to me so the one I frequent the most. We went in this weekend for the Kid's Workshop. We used to attend these faithfully pre-pandemic and this was our first one in a few years. If you're unfamiliar with the workshop, it's a free event every first Saturday where children get a kit to build an item. This month was a pinball machine! We love the Home Depot Kid's Workshop for the family engagement and the life skills. Our girls get to practice to use hammers and screwdrivers and fixing their mistakes with tools when they move too fast or attach something wrong. The workshop captain this week was (I think) Victoria. If I got the name wrong, it definitely started with a V. She was EXCELLENT with the children and families and stayed waaaay overtime, welcoming in families that arrived late and helping them build their machines. The other team member I saw periodically I believe was named Amaya. They were very friendly and helpful. When we asked, they brought us kits from past months so that we can do some builds at home of some of the projects we've missed. They also gave us a list of all upcoming projects for the rest of the year. It was interesting to see some of the upcoming builds are similar to the ones we did years back. It was a welcomed touch that they offered the parents bottled water and brought out snacks (prepackaged Oreos and Chips Ahoy) for the children. Purchasing paint today, the associates in the paint department were wonderful. The told me that had oil based paint and gave me ideas on prices of different brands. The check out was quick and easy. The cashier was friendly and helpful showing me how to get my military discount. read more

I had been to Home Depot on Mt Zion Blvd twice to get a lawnmower blade for my Ryobi 20' lawnmower. I could not find it . However on my third visit, a very well-mannered employee by the name Wayne stopped what he was doing and walked me over to the blades. Wayne was extremely courteous and took great pride in making sure I found what I needed. The obvious question I wanted to ask was why the Ryobi blades were not stocked in the lawnmower section with the other blades but I was so ecstatic about Wayne's help that I didn't want to complain. She single-handedly recovered my shopping experience from being a frustrating waste of time and effort. I traveled 25 minutes from home, to my nearby HD (who didn't have what I needed), to your store. I ran into a problem when your ONLY cash-accepting register had a problem that required a locksmith or some other kind of technician, meaning it was out of service at the time of my visit. I'm not one to grant "passes" or accept excuses from large corporations on issues like these and Home Depot is no different. Candidly, your company is too large and too wealthy to have only a single cash-accepting register that can be knocked out of service for hours at a time. It's just unacceptable. Before leaving my items where I stood and walking out, I thought I'd get one of the many people available to check me out...and Sharon. Sharon heard my concern with empathy and provided an apology instead of an excuse. She went of to appreciate me as a customer, saying things like "I'm glad you came over so I could check you out," and "of course I'm happy to help, your my job. Without you, I'd have no reason to be here." I was completely blown away! I was frustrated and IMMEDIATELY disarmed by her kindness and professionalism. I've never experienced such a high level of customer appreciation in my life. It was such a simple gesture but it made me feel so good, I tried to tip her. Had to run to Home Depot for a few essential items during this quarantine. I was pleased to see the social distancing policies that were in place. Customers were instructed to stand in line upon entering the store. Once entering the store they had several "markers" at each checkout with an "x" marked on the floor as to where to stand. This was very helpful especially for people not wanting to keep the 6 feet rule. Home Depot had ample amount of products on the shelves and were restocking. All the carts are taken with return and broken stock. Only managers can even help if you can fine one. OMG who the heck is even running this place. Inventory is way off. I'm done with this place. Try comparing this to any location above I20 and you can see the difference. read more

Had the nicest experience in Clayton County at this Hime Depot. Cashier in the home and garden area, Evvy was friendly and energetic. She greeted each customer as they walked in even as she assisted us at the register. When we walked towards the register, she met us with a smile and pulled the cart the remainder of the way to the register. She inquired about us wanting a Hm Depot credit card. The guy at customer service was great sending me over to the pest control area. Very friendly and willing to help. My issue is that they only had the self service lanes open. 2 lanes with 2 registers at each with 3 employes standing in the middle. WTH!?!? Send 2 employees over to the regular check out lanes, so they are actually doing work for pay rather than standing around!! read more

I went in today because I needed assistance with my toilet . Waverley was amazing he assisted me even though it wasn't his department and told me and showed me everything I needed to purchase and do. In general a horrible experience. 45 minute wait just to find out how much a speciality item is (the poor associate had 4 other customers in the carpet/blinds section all by himself)! When I called the customer service desk from the back of the store I was told a manager would come over there and 45 mins later still hadn't come. This is ridiculous! Then needed help loading my vehicle with 12 x 12 piece of carpet and was assisted by what may as well have been my uncooperative teenage son that you have to tell how to hold the item, where to stand, how high to push, etc. so basically completely worthless. Highly recommend Home Depot change their third party delivery service. What's the point of having a delivery service your company cannot even reach? And the customer's time is wasted and there's no compensation whatsoever. Ordered over $4000 dollars worth of appliances (refrigerator, washer and dryer) and was told it would be delivered Nov 19th. Since the home isn't occupied yet, I had to have someone housesit that day while we waited for the delivery since I got a message the day before telling me the timeframe for delivery. No show. No call. Upon calling the delivery service desk, they informed me that they'd have to reschedule, couldn't explain why. New delivery date: Nov 28. After speaking to the supervisor, he said he could get it delivered on Nov 23rd instead. Got a call the day before saying my delivery time would be between 730a and 11a. Again had to have a house sitter who stayed there til 4 pm, still no delivery. Every-time I called the service desk, they said the delivery team is on their way, they're one stop before my home, but they can't reach the delivery team. They put in an email for the delivery team to give me a call. Nothing. 6 pm still no delivery. I went out to the Home Depot store where the associates informed me that they've been having a lot of complaints about people not getting their deliveries. I wanted to cancel my order and shop somewhere else. Home Depot said they can't refund my order until the appliances are scanned back into the warehouse which is useless to me if I wanna shop somewhere else my money is being tied up. I told them I'd give the delivery team another call. I leave and 25 minutes later, while I'm on the phone with them, they informed me my order was skipped. They put me on hold to find out why. When they came back to the phone, they informed me Home Depot just cancelled my order..... At this point, I took it as a sign that my money doesn't belong here. Wish I hadn't wasted a month waiting for my appliances and now I have to wait while my refund is processed before I can purchase new appliances elsewhere. WARNING: NEVER NEVER NEVER use this Home Depot location for a project. Use it to pick up materials but do not contract for any kind of work with contractors because it will be a prolonged disaster. I went to this location on April 26 and bought two exterior doors with installation included. My first hint of trouble when I had to come back in and order again, about a week later. Both experiences were less than delightful and it turned out the stock doors had to be ordered. I was told May 21 but that turned into June 12, today. So I prepared everything, moved stuff out of the way, disconnected the security sensors, called by RFI installer on the way. So excited. And I waited and waited. An hour and half later from RFI. All the materials are waiting but RFI won't let the installer do the job because of some confusion between RFI AND Home Depot. So now I have to wait for another reschedule. I went here because their website said they had an item in stock. It was not on the floor and when I asked an employee he rolled his eyes at me. He was rude and said it was only available online. I indeed found the price tag On the shelf and one open box with an obviously used item that had been returned. My husband was seething but we decided to just let it go. I've spent a lot of time at this Home Depot over the past month since we just moved into a 70 year old house and everyone from which I've requested assistance has been extremely knowledgable and helpful. They helped me find the right cleaning products for the serious scrubbing job that we had in front of us, helped us pick out shower heads, faucets, and other various parts that we needed, and nobody ever said, "this isn't my area" or "I don't work in this department." I think Home Depot does a great job with cross-training their employees so that if they get stopped on the way back from lunch they know how to help you where ever you may be. Went to check out at the register. Spoke to Hannah like I do to everyone who works there who I come in contact with every time I come just a simple hi (regular- faithful customer) she did speak back, attitude real dry, checkout had purchased $60 worth of light bulbs and she didn't even put them in a bag or offer. Had to ask for bags to put all my bulbs in and bag it myself. Horrible customer service rep. Hannah need better training, an attitude adjustment or better yet don't be allowed to work around people who spend money to pay their bills. Everyone who is hire able ain't hire able. read more

Home depot uses Romanoff in our area for work. I recommend going some where else. They install my laminate floor. they didn't grind my floor so every step I make it makes cracking and poping noise. also didn't finish the job and damage my bathroom vinyl floor. so poor job. been three months still no fixing and neither Home depot doing anything to fix and finish the job. The employees here are probably the laziest people on earth. No help just "I think it is on aisle 12" remarks. Sit around and talk to each other and ignore you. This location is by far the worst Home Depot that my family and I have even been to. We have visited this location a hand full of times and we always get the same horrible experience. The works seem to all hate their jobs and are good for nothing. We have even talked with managers about issues and one has even gone as far to tell us that they have had multiple complaints with a few of their employees. There is a young lady who works in the paint department who has a VERY NASTY attitude. We brought in a paint sample to get a gallon of it and the nasty attitude young lady told us that they couldn't do that and begin to get a smart aleck attitude with my father and rolled her disrespectful eyes. An older head of earring gentleman seen how the disrespectful young lady was acting and stepped in and told her to be quiet and he help us. BEWEAD of this location and the customer service if you have to go but I would just make the trip to the location on Tara Blvd or the Jonesboro rd. Those two locations have always treated my family with basic respect and always try to help in anyway that they can. read more

Don't buy any appliances unless you're taking them with you. I bought a refrigerator for a rental. Salesgirl "forgot" to order the icemaker. After a 15 day waiting period and a requested Saturday morning delivery, we got a damaged unit (door handle) delivered in the evening. Delivery driver didn't bother changing the swing of the doors or carting the old refrigerator away -- just put it on the back porch -- and didn't leave any delivery paperwork either. I complained on Saturday night, but nobody was around who could do anything. Come Monday morning, the manager was on vacation so I got an assistant. The "best" they could do for me was pickup the old refrigerator on Friday (Really? Like what about that day?) and order the parts and pieces either broken or forgotten. When they arrive at my rental (who knows when that will be?), my tenant is supposed to call the store and arrange for somebody to toodle down and replace the handle, change the doorswing, and install the icemaker! What is my tenant supposed to do in the meantime -- stare at the old refrigerator that's on his porch while he wished he had ice cubes for his drink and curses the landlord everytime he's got to open the door the wrong way using a broken handle?
