Let me preface by saying: if you want some strong customer support, then this is probably not the location to come to. That wasn't shade but commentary on what I experienced today. I asked for assistance, and it took a long while before anyone could assist me. Aside from the wait, just as all the Home Depot locations throughout the tri-state region, it literally has almost everything. I went to this one because it's near my house and the convenience of not wanting to stretch this errand out. I was there to purchase paint in preparation of a new paint job to be completed by my landlord. Although it was a rather dull color, the paints were mixed perfectly, matching the paint color I then had on the walls of the house; I was really easy and very efficient. This isn't my first visit. I am writing to express my profound disappointment and frustration regarding the way my request to receive the Children's Workshop activity kit was handled on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at your Bed-Stuy, New York Home Depot location. My children and I are loyal attendees of the monthly workshops, and they were particularly excited about the haunted house-building activity scheduled for October 4, 2025. Unfortunately, we were unable to attend on the scheduled date because my three-year-old son was sick. Incident Details Knowing how much my children enjoy these activities, I called your store on Sunday, October 5th, and was advised by a store associate to stop by the Customer Service desk to pick up the workshop materials for my two children. I made the significant effort to travel to the store via public transportation specifically to retrieve the kit so that my family could still enjoy building it together at home. Upon arriving at the Customer Service desk at approximately 5:30 PM, I was informed by the female manager on dutythat she "was not leaving this long customer service line to walk to the office for that". Even though there were several associates at multiple registers, she adamantly refused and was unwilling to assist, even after I explained that I had spoken to an associate who advised me to come by the store. I find this level of service completely unacceptable, especially after traveling to the store specifically for this purpose. I felt dismissed by a manager with what felt like a refusal to provide a basic level of customer accommodation. Follow-up on Monday On my way out, I stopped an associate named Odesa who turned out to be extremely helpful. She explained that the woman who had refused service was indeed the manager and would be the only one able to retrieve the workshop activity. However, Odesa promised that if I stopped by tomorrow, she would do her best to accommodate me. On Monday, October 6th, straight after work, I made my way back to the store. I found Odesa, and as she promised, she walked over to Customer Service to speak to the same young woman. While waiting, I could see and hear the black female manager and a young black man with red hair and matching red pants snickering and cackling as I waited patiently. When the manager finally got around to getting the workshop activity, she handed me one kit. I explained that I had two children. "Oh," she replied with an attitude, handing me another as she sneered. The manager's priority seemed to be avoiding a temporary inconvenience rather than upholding the promise of the workshop program and assisting a long-time customer. This conduct reflects poorly on this Home Depot location and honestly I have never had this experience at Hamilton or any other locations quite frankly. Request for Action The children's workshops are a wonderful community initiative, but the positive experience is negated when your management staff fails to demonstrate helpfulness or basic customer service. I request that you investigate this matter and take appropriate steps to ensure that all staff, especially managers, are trained on proper customer service and problem-solving, particularly when a customer is following advice given by another store representative. Odesa went over and beyond in her efforts to assist me, and instead of being able to write a letter shining a light on her phenomenal customer service, the focus is unfortunately overshadowed by the incompetence and ineptitude of the manager. It is concerning that a regular associate was more resourceful and helpful than the management on duty. read more

This Home Depot is really close to my home. Just hop on the G train on Broadway and a few stops to Bedford Nostrand Avenue is the Home Depot. I got there late at night one day and good thing it closes at 10pm so they have evening hours for anyone who has time after work to get something. I came here to get a plant pot large enough for a big bouquet of flowers. They have a great variety of large plant pots that are plastic, which is what I need. They have many colors, ranging from beige to black. I also got plant food for indoor plants and it was around $10 for the Miracle Gro Indoor Plant Food that feeds instantly. My initial reason for coming here was to get mold armor and what other place than Home Depot. Good thing it was not sold out and there were a couple of mold armor rapid clean remediation where you spray on the mold and it will eradicate it without any scrubbing. Worst Home Depot location I've ever been to. Came to buy the largest AC window unit available as my AC system broke on a 95 degree day. Wanted to buy the 15,000 BTU unit, which was 128lbs, so went to the customer service desk to ask if someone could help me load on a trolley to take to the checkout. The woman at the desk told me that they just opened so no one could help. There was no one in the store. I literally walked in at opening and there were three employees at the cust service counter just hanging out chatting. She wouldn't even make eye contact with me. Just blatantly didn't want to help or ask anyone to assist me. I'd have brought my wife along but she was watching our two young daughters so sincerely needed the help. Ended up downsizing since I had to get it to the register by myself. Ended up spending 200$ less than I would have with 30 seconds of a persons help. Never been to a Home Depot where they don't help you. I know any other location will. Never coming to this spot again. read more

we purchased a stove from Home Depot online about 1month ago. From day one we started wifts of gas but assumed it was just the burners catchin. However, on Thursday 12/11/25, I was baking around 10:30-11pm, the scent was so strong, it woke up everyone in the house. I called National Grid, who came and after throughly checking everything, concluded we were sold a faulty stove. They disconnected it and shut off the gas and told us NOT to use it. We reached out to Home Depot who told us we had 48 hours to return it and to contact the manufacture, which we did and they told us they were sending a technician to test it on Friday. So employees swiped my wallet here once. I couldn't reach something and asked for help from one guy, he "couldn't" reach either and called on a taller co-worker to help. I turned around and was suddenly surrounded by 4 guys (all employees, all youngish guys). I had a cart where I placed my canvas bag which held my small dog, the pocket of the bag was open exposing my wallet. All that was in the bag was the dog and the wallet. I didn't know why I was suddenly surrounded by HD employees when I just asked one guy for help. I turned around and one guy was at my cart rubbing my dog's head in clear view of everything that was in the bag which was only the small wallet. I thought nothing of it at the time, odd but whatever. After I rang everything up, I reached for my wallet and it was f-ing gone. I literarily walked from my apt which a few mins away to Home Depot. The only interaction I had with anyone was when I asked the guy to grab something I couldn't reach before seeing 4 men around me touching my dog and just randomly being too close, but I didn't think anything of it until I went to pay and realized that was a distraction and one swiped my wallet. Thanks a**holes. Taking from your own people gets us no where. Of course I couldn't report it bc they'd deny it and likely wouldn't pull the video of the scene bc they'd deny don't care. The problem is they didn't update the inventory until order it for picking up, then they found out they didn't have it in stock, so they cancelled the order, and first time didn't clear it up, what wrong with the order. Then the second time they said it was out of stock. so, they still cancelled my order. I ended up have to pay delivery cost for the item I want to delivery to me. I had the worst customer service experience at this Home Depot at College Point. I purchased an air conditioner online from this store on June 19th. It was delivered to my home on July 1st. It was too noisy so I decided to return it. I called up customer service online and they told me I can return it within 7 days. I brought the air conditioner to the College Point store on July 5th. The customer service rep told me since I purchased it on July 19th, they cannot accept this return. I told her that cannot be correct since it was delivered to my house on July 1st, which was already more than 7 days after my purchase online. There was no way I knew I wanted to return it if they count the 7 day period starting on my purchase date instead of delivery date. I short, that was an act of impossibility on my end. But the customer rep was very uncooperative and refused to listen to my reasoning. When I asked to see a manager she also denied me of that, claiming the manager could not help me. Instead of trying to be helpful all she wanted to do was wave me away. She was making all kinds of claims, for example she said I had to call the delivery company, which made no sense at all. I finally had to call customer service online again on the spot and they confirmed that I was correct and they spoke to the store's employee to get my return processed. I was in need of a specific outdoor garbage can and after a search on Home Depot's website, I landed at this location on a Tuesday afternoon. I see there are several complaints about the workers and the store itself on Yelp. I didn't do much talking nor needed explanations from workers because I went in for one item. So IDK how knowledgeable the workers are as I did my own research prior to my visit. I tend to do my own research because I do find that at Home Depot (and Lowe's. Yes, Lowe's is catching a stray), assistance is non-existent. However, on this day, all was well. I want to spotlight Lorenzo in the Nursery. He deployed adequate customer service by getting the garbage can from the pallet since there were none on the floor. I didn't catch the cashier's name but he, too, was friendly. It is like visiting a prison (except prisons are more orederly), everything is under lock and key and you have to hunt down sales associates and wait in long lines.. Sales Associates either have too much work to do and avoid you or it is just the culture of Brooklyn. Ask for help and you can sometimes be verbally accosted. They need to pay these associates more money in brooklyn and train everyone. This is a terribly run store, with few optoins in the area. It must be the worst in America...but that should possibly be a documentary film. read more

In July of 2024.. I am extremely disappointed of the customer service I received at this Home Depot in Brooklyn New York on 230 Nostrand Ave. Managers Rodney, Cumberbatch, Yimy and cashier Sophia. I'm sure them and others are a part of this scam. I went to this Home Depot to purchase two gift cards and paper towels. I went to the register with multiple visa gift cards because I was concerned that the backs of these gift cards were torn open already however, the cashier Sophia told me that it's fine and asked how much would I like to put on the cards?.. I told her the amount and she handed me back two cards. A little skeptical by the way she handed me the cards. I asked her are you sure these are the two cards you put the money because she was still holding all the gifts cards as she scanned them. She said yes and showed me my receipt saying yes and this is the amount on them. I didn't second-guess her and I left the store with my two gift cards and paper towels. A couple of days when both gift cards were being used one of them didn't work. I immediately went back to the Home Depot, upset with myself because I knew in my gut something was off when I originally purchased them. I went to the customer service stand, explain to them what happened and noticed that the gift cards stand wasn't in the same place. It had been moved. I insisted on walking over with the manager Rodney and he told me no I can wait there at the Customer Service stand and he would check the cameras as well. He came back to say that he doesn't see a gift card on the stand that matches the numbers on my receipt and that in the video footage he can't really tell what has happened other than the cashier Sophia was holding multiple gift cards. And this was the beginning of runaround with no intent on making it right. Rodney said he will speak to another manager about the situation he stated that I will be giving my money back, but he wasn't sure of the form it will be sent to me whether it would be reimbursed on my Home Depot card or sent has a check in the mail. He took my name address and phone number. He also gave me his contact information to follow up. After weeks of calling the store and being told that the manager isn't there then on vacation, I finally called Home Depot corporate told them the story made a complaint and till now no email, call .. not even a letter in regards to my complaint. I paid for two gift cards and only received one with the correct amount on it. The second card I was handed was never activated. The correct second gift card was left in the hands of the cashier name Sophia. This is robbery. The right thing to do is to reimburse me for what I paid for and didn't receive. read more

I understand it can take up to 5 business days as well and we are past that. I called again and after waiting for over an hour I spoke with someone who has no compassion or customer service etiquettes. So much so they talk about it amongst themselves in front of customers who have been waiting an inordinate amount of time to be attended because there is a lack of cashiers. And the self checkout doesn't work. So it's pretty much hell for everyone involved. But since they have to work and the surrounding community has needs. The Bed-Sty location is an absolute piece of garbage. Their staff are incompetent and hate their jobs. Their supplies are 3rd rate garbage. Both their phillips head screws and drill bits strip very easily because the metal they use is garbage. I purchased a pressure treated handrail for pick up and the piece was warped badly (a 6ft. handrail had a middle over 3/4" out of allignment from the edges!) This is one of the worst customer experiences of my life and quite honestly my husband and I felt extremely discriminated against as a gay couple and my husband, because of his thick South American accent. My husband, very nicely approached Fred - the associate working the department to find a specific tool bag that was shown to be at this store. Fred rudely says "What? All your showing me is a bag full if tools" , he then my husband politely explains and Fred says "Aisle 19", my husband asked him to please show him where and he then proceeds to yell at us "Just because I am wearing the orange apron doesn't mean I know where everything is in the store. I am on my way to the bathroom!" . Is this acceptable customer service , Home Depot? Discriminating against customers with foreign accents and gay couples. I came here in search of paint for my bedroom. Of course, they were out of almost everything. The reason for the 4 stars was the woman who helped me out at the paint desk. She was so knowledgeable and informative. I didn't know what i was looking for besides the fact that i needed paint lol. She understood and helped me choose the best paint with the most coverage from what they had in stock. She was the only person working the paint station at time and she was so on point. I don't understand how different Home Depot stores are depending on location. As I arrived with with Uber, driver would not drive through the hoards of men who literally attacked the car, looking for work. I told driver you are not going to drop me off alone outside are you? Uber said I am not driving through them. Yes that bad. Frightening I none the less was determined to get what I needed and now was on a hunt for a shopping cart. Again making my way through what must have been well over 50-75 men begging for work, found an employee to assist, still in the grungy parking lot. Once inside elevator was broken so there went the shopping cart. To say the help I received in the curtain dept was little to none is an understatement. Once you are sized up the employees decide if they want to work with you or not. I asked several times for help and told them I think I know what I want. I was offered access to the computer. Finally I received some basic forced help but custom shades are quite expensive and between not knowing product and not caring to invest the time, I left with paper temps for my windows. Back down to the intimidating parking lot, it's really bad I am not exaggerating. Once again called an UBER and put in notes please PULL IN, description of myself and hoped the driver would get me out of there. When driver #2 pulled up he was just as intimidated- the men jumped all over his car, I motioned for him he happily got me in and out of that mess. I asked him was it just me? He said uhh NO I am from NJ and was going to make a U turn, I was afraid they were going to jump my car. So to sum up my experience, if you are not intimated by all that, are ready to enter a store breathing saw wood and all kinds of construction cement, broken wiring etc in the air, this store is for you. If you are alone and looking for some home improvements, just be ready to be approached in the parking lot by a huge crowd of workers, I wasn't sure what their purpose was as no one spoke Eng and there is a homeless shelter nearby. Not against a hard days work but they need security inside and out or ppl are not going to walk from their car or in the parking lot. The store inside isn't what I would call well lit and friendly. While they do have a phone app that you can type an item in and it shows you the isle and bin you can find it, this Home Depot has no wi-fi to use it, so it is useless. On numerous occasions I have made pick up orders that were not ready to be picked up HOURS after they were made online. This week it happened twice. 4- 1/2 hours after the store opened a supply order was not ready and canceled. Apparently their website is so fucked because the quantities on items on the website are mostly false. There is no way you sold out on an item that you list 24 being in stock. On the second time, I ordered a 5 gallon of paint that was not ready 12 HOURS after they opened. This store is a pig sty with items rarely put back on shelves. Their supply of spray paint has more empty spaces than paint cans in the storage bins. Their associates all have attitudes when you ask them questions. I live a few blocks away from the Bed-Sty location. If I can carry what I am buying, I hop a train to Lowes to avoid the Bed-Sty location which is an absolute clusterfuck. read more

Came here looking for wire rope to hang a mirror. I headed here to see if there were any in stock. The parking lot at this location is always packed along with a few people arguing. As per usual, when asking an employee a question in regard to what's in stock or its location no one ever has the answer. It might as well fall on deaf ears. Does this home depot have products in stock ? Yes. Are the staff knowledgeable of availability or what aisle they are located? More than likely the answer is No. Staff members are always moving in a hurry and I'm not quite sure why. After roaming around I finally found it. I can even buy it by the foot. Unfortunately, I can't measure a foot with my naked eye and there was no measuring tape around. Luckily or maybe I was unlucky, I found an employee. Hi, do you happen to have measuring tape for me to measure and cut the wire rope. The reply was "what?" He continued to look forward at a shelf and said with the worst attitude "give me a minute." Its not what he said but how he said it. His attitude was piss poor so I began to look for a measuring tape myself. After some time went by he strolled over like he was being pulled over by his parents to talk to an aunt that annoys him. I really wanted to say "Shoo fly don't bother me. Shoo fly don't bother me." I'm truly exhausted from poor customer service and the lack of knowledge and ability to help from stores. This is a management problem. I had a great service experience on every level from multiple employees this evening (btn 430-530) and wanted to let people know. -The customer service rep Natasha at returns was extremely helpful, efficient and friendly with my sink return. -Then a very pleasant gentleman proactively asked if there was anything he could help me with while I was walking up the stairs, and explained what depts were up there. -Another employee in the drill bit dept showed me two different options for a drill attachment for making holes in drywall and explained why the one I was looking at wasn't ideal. -Finally, at self checkout, Ayana kindly indicated I needed to use the gun thingy to read the barcode when she noticed me staring blankly at the self check out station ;). Then she checked the price of some lightbulbs for me that turned out to be over my budget, and she quickly adjusted it by cancelling them out for me. Thank you everyone, what a great staff at making my visit very pleasant, smooth and easy. read more

Ordered some plants from Home Depot since my usual florist closed down! I've never had plants shipped to my apartment before, but I ordered three small plants and they all made it here in great shape. They came in boxes with handles for easy carrying, and the plants were packed in tightly. The only issue was that some of the soil spilled onto the floor when I was unpacking them; be sure to put newspaper or some kind of tarp down before opening. read more

I am convinced that this is one of those places that takes the living joy out of shopping. The parking situation gives you a preview of what is to come once you're inside; madness, horrible customer service, and a total disorder. So, by prepare I mean: 1- Eat prior because... 2- You'll be waiting for a while (cause ya' know a hangry person is a dangerous person). 3- Park your car as far as possible from the entrance (peace of mind and a dent free car is priceless). 4- Have a list if purchasing more than 3 items. 5- Have a positive attitude and hopefully it'll be painless. He went above and beyond to help me find lily planting tips online, as well as info about different rocks to line the bottom of the planter. Whatever you do, don't ask any employee here for any help. They'll act as if you've asked them to carve a chair out of a solid piece of wood if you ask them what aisle the screws are in. It's actually so bad it's kinda funny. Once I made the mistake of asking an employee where I could find a cart and they responded, "Just follow someone out to their car and take their cart when they're done." Very scary experience- women beware. Let me preface this by saying maybe 10 years ago I went to a different Home Depot and got some 2x4 wood cut but did not remember the procedure for this process, also I have a Home Depot credit card and have always supported the brand. I came here just to purchase a piece of wood and get it cut. After 15 minutes or so I found the person who does that- I told him the dimensions of the wood I needed cut he told me to go pick out a piece of plywood and that he normally doesnt cut pieces that size but would do it for me (which I thought was strange but whatever). He cut the wood and then asked me for a tip and kept reiterating that he cut the wood a size he wasn't supposed to. I looked in my bag but didn't have any cash on me so I started walking toward the check out. He FOLLOWED me asking for a tip over and over and then asking my name. I went to the self checkout but had no idea what the price of the cut wood was since the sticker had been cut off. I also wasn't sure if there was charge to get the wood cut, so im at the self check out a little confused but eager to get out of there bc the man was starting to harass me. The sales associate who helps facilitate the self check out was not helpful at all. I kept asking her how. much the plywood was and if there was a fee for getting the wood cut...I told her I was eager to get out of there because the other employee was following me she responded very agressivky and told me I better not talk that way about her coworker. The whole thing continued to delolve from there. Looking back I should've just left the wood there and walked out but long story short her and another sales woman started accusing me of being there earlier in the day, (I've never been to that Home Depot location in my life). When I asked for her name she put her hand over her apron where her name tag was. She began accusing me of trying to scam her by pretending to buy a cheaper piece of wood than what got cut. I suggested she look at the surveillance tape to see that I was not lying and had not been in the store earlier that day but the two women got really close to me physically and continued to accuse me of these things. The wood cutter was now standing there staring at me as well. Things got verbally aggressive on their end and I will admit I got really scared- I ran out of there. It was awful- tore up my Home Depot card when I got home. It has been several months and I will never shop at a home depot again.. Oh and that second sales associate turned out to be the supervisor. I have been on the phone to them for over 90 min in total trying to get the right delivery. They kept putting me on hold telling me they are busy in store. 1 star is far more than this store deserves. Like others say it needs a negative system to be accurate. I used to live a block away and went there dozens if not hundreds of times and it was always a test of patience if you couldn't find what you needed and get out. It is a model of incompetence paired with indifference... no, insolence. Everyone who works there hates their job and by extension you. Recently I ordered some oil for a heater. I was going to order from Amazon but HD offered it same day delivery so I ordered it online. Evidently the fulfillment was through this store - it didn't ship. I called Customer Service the next day and was assured it would be there that day. It didn't ship. Again and again. On the fourth day I called HD customer care and they called the store - which hung up on them three times. They were so upset they sent me up the chain and successive people called trying to get word on my order. I was told it would ship the next day - a week after I'd ordered and I canceled it. A lot of the employees were friendly enough but not very helpful. Needed some wood cut and no one knew when the lumber department was going to be staffed so we had to wait in a long customer service line to speak to a manager to ask but eventually someone else (Alan) was called in to save the day! Seemed like there should be a manager or several on duty to work the floor and ensure proper departmental coverage and answer questions like who's shift starts when. Alan was the best - he came from another department to cover lumber which had no coverage on a busy Sunday. He cut like a pro with patience and expertise. I wish I could give this place negative stars. I went to Home Depot to pick up some paint and brought a sample of the paint on my walls. The color match was so off that it was several shades darker. I called customer service to see if I could exchange the paint for a better color match and the manager said absolutely. So I went back to the store, picked up the new paint which seemed much better, and went over to customer service to make the exchange. The manager there refused to exchange the paint. I asked him why I was told by another manager that I could exchange it, and he had no answer for me. He was so rude and started getting loud and aggressive. He wasn't even trying to listen to me, and eventually picked up his phone in the middle of talking to me and ignored me. I took my old paint and walked out. He could figure out what to do with 5 gallons of wasted paint he refused to swap out for me. Jokes on him though, because my landlord said that the paint I have is fine. I recommend just driving a couple more minutes and going to the Home Depot in Queens because this one is trash. read more

Not the best one that I've been too. Mediocre service, okay selection of items, and always messy throughout the store. No one puts anything back. The packing is weird so be careful with someone hitting your car. This location has a nursery but they don't sell composts which I found very weird. This place is a shithole i asked workers for help to find smth bc in the app said it was 33 in stock and at asile23 bay7 that shelf was totally empty and the boxes on top were on cages so noone cared abt bringing them down even by asking them at the costumer service more than 4 time spent ther 1h and didn't get nth these guys don't care abt their job need serious staff asap For me it's an 0star but there's no option for it read more
