I got a spray paint from this store to do my project. I could order from online website, but I just want to feel and see the real color. The price is higher but I will get the paint right away, so I decided to pay extra buck to just get a paint in the store. The paint is pretty good and service in the store is good too. read more

This place is horribe. They are really mean and completely unhelpful to their customers (if you can even get them to aknowledge you). I recently had two keys cut, and neither one of them worked. I went to a locksmith around the corner (who cut the keys correctly) and they told me the blanks the guy at WR used weren't even correct. Stay away and spend your money somewhere else. read more

This store is great. Just had three keys made, they work better than the originals (smooth, snug fit), and I got everything I needed to silicone seal my bathroom. The first time I came here, there was an older gruff man at the store, who I don't see anymore. He helped me find ridiculous out of the ordinary couplers for an antique lamp I needed to hang about 4 years ago. The store is more organized now and has more stock in general for typical contractor materials. This is my go to hardware store in the neighborhood. read more

Everything most people need in a neighborhood hardware store. I even stop here if my closest grocery store doesn't have a lightbulb/miscellaneous house supply item that I need. On the day I moved into the neighborhood, I made three stops here, and the man at the counter made a friendly joke about it. read more

The staff is the most rude group of people I have ever seen in retail. I used to work retail myself. They locked the door at 6:55, even though I called earlier today and was told they close at 7pm. I told them through the door what I needed, just 2 things and they wouldn't let me in until someone else left. They could have had my payment in full in two minutes total but instead gripped and complained and told me that every business closes early and no one would sell what I need 5 minutes before closing. They blamed me for someone missing a bus and still I was out before 7pm! They are awful, just avoid at all cost. read more

I noticed this had a bad review so I thought I would chime in. I've been going here on and off for a good 15 years and I've never had a problem. I'm not sure if it's been under the same owner or not the whole time (I lived outside if greenpoint for a few years). But I've gone there many times recently and have usually found what I'm looking for. the staff are friendly and knowledgable. I guess they may not be full of tons of "pro" stuff, but for my basic-household repairs ect, this store has always come through. read more

I needed to replace some light bulbs that aren't carried by places like Target or Duane Reade, but they had them. Quick, easy transaction, credit cards taken for purchases over $10, and they seem to be a well-stocked store with two people at the front desk. Not an eventful transaction, so why review it? Well, I've noticed that most of the general hardware stores in my area listed on Yelp are no longer in business, and the scarce reviews for such businesses help explain why they're still listed. This was the only one that was still open, and on a Sunday to boot (until 5 p.m.) So if you need something at the spur of the moment, this may be your go to place by default, and even if you had other options, it seems to be a good one regardless. read more

This was the worst experience dealing with a vendor that I have ever had. I have been in business for almost 10 years, and placed an order for a Dor-O-Matic Falcon 1790 Electrified Rim Device. I received the product and discovered that I was sent the wrong part. I contacted them with my concerns and they admitted that they had made a mistake. This has put me in a major bind and has cost many man hours over this mistake. I was informed by WR Hardware that they were human and make mistakes. I was asked "how many mistakes do you make", I'm assuming this was an attempt to place the blame on the me the consumer. I expressed my concerns about needing the replacement part ASAP. They informed that they were not willing to pay for overnight shipping even though they were at fault. When I informed the agent that I would never do business with this company I was told to F*** off and she hung up on me. Next time I would rather pay double than ever use this company again. read more
