Although when you enter it might look a bit cluttered up and over crowded, don't get just turned off and walk out, they actually have a very decent verity of all types of home hardware, say like pots & pans, cutlery, organizing containers, towel hooks and even alarm clocks.... (People still buy them?! It's like buying a flash light when you have one on your phone...) Customer service is also very friendly and nice and always more then willing to help you find whatever you're looking for and give you the perfect recommendation of the product which will meet your needs. Price is also okay although not the cheapest, but hey, when you have a big nice place with great customer service you can't expect them to charge you a bodega price for a pot. Speaking of Pot's I was once on the road out in the wild and needed urgently a pot for some cooking, so I stopped into a small bodega (don't ask me what I was thinking and I ask the cashier if he by any chance has a pot so he says "umm Pot"? sure, go right to the back of the store, It took me a minute to realize that he was talking about "POT" and I quickly made a U turn and ran outta there laughing my head off....... One more thing that they offer is a Mikvah* on the spot that you need for some dishes when you buy them. In overall this please is great and therefore my go to place whenever I need nay home supplies. ---------------------------------------------------- *Mikvah, for those of you that are not familiar with it, it is a religious ritual that you need to submerge any dish that you intend of using multiple times into a tub of water that contains a certain amount of pure rain water, and after submerging it into the Mikvah you're able to use the dish for as many times as you wish. (Disposable stuff don't require a Mikvah)

Did that ultra weird looking light bulb in the bathroom go out? Bring it in, they have it. A set of L shaped wrench keys on a handy loopring? That'll be $3. These guys never make me feel like my questions are too small and there is always a good natured vibe in the store. This review is overdue, considering it was almost nine years ago when I first walked in carrying a broken faucet head in my hand like an idiot.

Plenty of off brand and cheap Chinese goods, but you can actually find some decent and useful stuff here at very cheap prices. The organization isn't great, but the guys who run it are very friendly, know their stock, and will help you find anything you need. They make 99 cent keys too, which is great. Two quick examples: 1) I needed a staple gun, looked on Amazon, wasn't satisfied with the time to get it or the price so I went over the store, and there was what I needed up on the wall - an American made, lightweight staple gun at a great price. 2) Toilet broke, needed a new arm inside it to connect to the flapper. The one in there was a cheap plastic thing that snapped. Went across the street, asked, and a minute later was brought a solid metal one for two bucks. Boom, done. This place has a second location that is more hardware store than home goods around the block on Franklin Ave between Bergen & St. Mark's. Between the two stores you can pretty much find anything you need. These places combined trump Mayday Hardware any day of the week in terms of service and price.

Yes, they carry tools of the common variety, as well as the household goods you've probably come to expect from any respectable discount store in the immediate vicinity. Prices are understandably commensurate with the quality of their wares, so you'll definitely save money if you need tools for a quick fix, but maybe less so if you're building an heirloom toolbox to pass on to your handy little offspring. So, it's really the moniker that prompts me to return here over any one of the multitudes of 99-cent stores. Well played!

In an area that is being consumed by chain stores and upscale retail, it's comforting that a great place like this exists.
