For a small place, they usually carry a good supply of the stuff you'd need. If it's at Home Depot, it's probably here. - Service. Customer service is pretty helpful. - Convenience. Is Home Depot cheaper? Probably, but that's a bit of a excursion. I love having this place in walking distance because some projects and repairs need to be done immediately. The hours are great too. Open on Sunday's until 7pm. The Meh: - Pricing. It's not awful and I'd say it's pretty decent. It not cheaper than other options (bigger stores and online retailers) but for the convenience and supporting the Flatbush neighborhood, I'd support this Caton Hardware first.

It was a cool accessory back then (or at least that's what I thought). The clothing styles have changed since then but honestly this place has maintained a superb level of customer service. I recently stopped there hoping to get my bike looked at ... 2 minutes later I'm out the door with the gears oiled up and ready to hit the streets. No up-selling. No overpriced fees. No long waiting times for what was a simple task. Just honest, warm service, which has been a consistent thing over the past 15 years I've been a customer here. Please don't ever change guys and thank you for being a great part of the community.

They have all the hardware basics, as well as some truly bizarre shit that's been there for years and will likely stay there for years to come (think I saw a Barbie flashlight in here). If you want general household supplies (light bulbs, etc.), they'll have it. If you need to get your bike repaired, they can do that. If need keys cuts, they've got you. All in all they're great for all purpose hardware needs. Prices are reasonable across the board. Selection of basic items (screws, brushes, etc.) is better actually than a lot of other stores for practical purposes, and they can accurately advise you on actually performing basic tasks unlike most places. I highly recommend them over the place up the block. Don't let the rough exterior give you pause; these guys will treat you right.

I was on Fulton street and walked into this store that I accidentally found while in the area. I walked in requesting a copy of my keys and the owner asked if I wanted him to make only a copy of my keys and why not the FOB, too? I told him that he couldn't do that and that only my building could. The owner reassured me that he had all the equipment in that store and he would be able to CLONE my FOB so I'd have an extra set of keys and a FOB just in case I lost my original ones. He was right! I live in Brooklyn and when I got home even the FOB worked. This place gave me great customer service and really came through. They certainly know what they are doing.
