Man, do I wish this was my local hardware store…read more It's less than a mile away, and in most places that would be super local, but here in Brooklyn I've got two or three closer. Those shops wish they were Mazzone though. If I have the time (which I rarely do), I would much rather come down here. The folks behind the counter are friendly, knowledgeable, and they've always got everything I need. The prices are reasonable as well. It's just a little too far for me to walk for just a lightbulb or a screw that I need, but for larger purchases, or if I have actual questions, I find it's worth it. One thing that I like getting from them is my Christmas tree every year. They've always got a great selection, and I'd rather spend my money locally than with the Home Depot, the Whole Foods, or even the dudes on the street who trek down from Canada or wherever. Here the service is better and friendlier; the trees are great, they will saw the end off it (necessary for drinking the water up), and help me strap it to my car if it's too big to fit inside (or if I'm trying not to get needles everywhere). Anyway, Christmas is over for the year, but Mazzone is forever.

I was happy to find some quality items like DeBuyer pans and hex-diamond pans. It's not too large and doesn't exactly have every brand, but the offerings are pretty various and the pricing are, IMHO, fair. I did in the end buy something that I felt was useful. I would go back again to browse things they might change around for new products - glad to have this in Brooklyn's Atlantic Avenue corridor!
