I always come here anytime I need to fill a new planter pot I just got, or whenever I need more paint or stain! I'm also grateful they're one of the few stores that stay open past 8pm (even during covid!) in Boulder! The pictures below are just a couple of the many projects I've been able to accomplish due to their awesome paint and stain selection! I painted this desk blue, and with the stool (that I plan to use as a plant stand) I sanded it down (with sandpaper from here as well!) and stained the top and painted the bottom, once again all thanks to Home Depot! Plus their employees are always very helpful

This location doesn't price match !! So embarrassing. I had double checked the website first and made sure what I needed would be included in price match, got everything and headed to checkout. Also they employ a lot of stoned high-school age kids so I didn't really push it, she might have just not wanted to bother unlocking a computer, even though it wasn't busy. i'm not gonna argue with a high schooler lol so I left. it sucked to waste gas going there. And the embarrassment of not being able to buy what I took to checkout.

    Mark and happy customers!

Bravo and THANK YOU to our Boulder Home Depot for the wonderful "above and beyond" customer service we experienced late Friday afternoon. We found what we needed and when our item didn't fit in my little car, our awesome HD employee helped us tie it up on our roof. I know we have all sorts of AI, ChatGPT, Starlink, SpaceX etc. - but if we could just clone Mark the lumber supervisor, the world would be a better place!

I'd give the place 4 or 5 stars if not for that pushy solar panel salesman near the front door.

Lack of ApplePay Support (or any contactless payment methods), especially in the era of coronavirus, is a huge reason to shop elsewhere.

It's the place to get what you need for those equity building home improvement projects. I find the people very helpful, too.

We planted the flowers after they sat for a few days and they're growing like crazy! The staff was super helpful while we were shopping, helping us find stuff and get a box to take the plants home safely. Not a huge shop but so many plants from flowers to trees. There were seeds all on the wall inside with the gardening supplies. They had a few items that would be good for gifts, they have some art, books, kitchen items, and house plants (succulents, jades, etc...). They have a cute shop with good quality product, kind staff and good value. Would recommend for plant people!

The plants don't look their best in the spring because they are dormant. So a beginner would likely dismiss these as dead plants for sale. But long-time Rocky Mountain gardeners know these dry-looking tufts will wake up and grow into healthy plants by late spring or early summer. I've bought many of my starter native plants here and they have matured and multiplied through the years. However, beginners can get lots of help and advice from staff. You need to overcome the expectation of wanting lush, green seedlings to take home. These plants are priced higher than those in big box stores, but they are worth it. They have been acclimated to the local conditions, outside of cozy greenhouses with built in sprinklers. They will settle well in your Rocky Mountain backyard.

After 31 years, I'm done. The last three experiences at Sturtz & Copeland have been awful…read more I've been a loyal patron for three decades. I went to them to do all the flowers at my wedding, have bought many house plants from them over the course of these three decades, etc but these last three instances will make me never patronize their establishment ever again. 1. I bought their bagged soil for indoor house plants to replenish the soil in all my pots. I even asked them about fungus gnats to which the employee confidently stated, "no, never." Well flash forward about a month, my plants of 20-30 years, are now all infested with fungus gnats. 100% came from Sturtz & Copeland soil and confirmed by taking the back outside for day, stirring up the soil contained within and watching the adult gnats swarm. So now I'm battling fungus gnats in every single house plant of mine. Thanks. 2 I bought a $40 snake plant from them and had them repot it in one of their terra cotta pots before I left the store. When the employee there removed the snake plant from their plastic pot she was shocked to see how over watered it was. Even pointing out to me to never let it get this overwatered, "see how the roots and everything is breaking up and breaking down?" She put forth her best effort to repot it but the stalk bunch was clearly falling apart. I got home about 20 mins later and 2/3rds of the stalks uprooted and fell out of the pot. I called the store immediately and explained what happened. They said there's nothing they can do about it because as soon as the plant leaves the store, there is no more warranty. They said to compost the stalks/clumps that fell out. So I was left with the equivalent of a $12 snake plant size in a pot that is way too big for it. Thanks. 3. A friend of mine gifted me a 4" waffle plant, purchased from Sturtz & Copeland. It thrived for months. However it was clearly time to have it repotted. I brought it in to Sturtz & Copeland to size up one of their gray terra cotta pots that I like. The employee there said they'd repot it for free since the plant originally came from them and I'm buying their pot. A week later the plant has lost all its leaves and it completely dead. I called with no hope or expectation of resolution and that's exactly what I got. I tried to continue to love this store since their move but it's not the same. The fact that I'm now battling a massive fungus gnat infestation alone is enough of a put off for me. Combine it with the other two instances and I am confidently never shopping here again.

They sell veggie, flower and a great selection of native plant seedlings. Show up early though. The line to get in forms 10 minutes before the sale opens. Service is friendly and prompt. And while the seedlings are pricier that those in big box stores, you do get the value that you pay for. Tip: if you're getting lots of seedlings, bring your own high-sided plastic or wooden tray. The little pots tend to flop around in the small cardboard trays that they send you home with and you'll get soil all over your car. Cardboard is not ideal because some of the plants may be damp underneath and this composty liquid could seep through to your carpet.

It was my first time hearing about them. We decided to go check out the 15th Annual Growing Gardens Community Plant Sale. For 2015 the dates at May 2-3, 9-10, 16-17. The times are from 8am-4pm. We showed up to the Growing Gardens Greenhouse on 1630 Hawthorne Ave in Boulder and it was packed full of people! There were signs pointing us to the greenhouse (which was great since it is in a neighborhood and didn't quite look right!). There were folks outside assisting with parking and we were able to park close by. Once inside we found a selection of annuals, perennials and harvesting crops. We were delighted to find everything we wanted to plant in our new raised beds. We found a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. We went home with 2 raspberry bushes ($15), multiple lettuces (they have a ton of options), hot peppers, sweet peppers, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes, multiple herbs, green pole beans, eggplant... We spent nearly $200 but got a couple boxes full of plants! They were sadly out of blueberry bushes when we got there. Maybe they will be there in the next couple weekends? I am not sure if they grow more plants elsewhere, but if not you will want to go early! Overall, I like that I am supporting a Colorado organization. The plants were reasonably priced and in great condition. The volunteers/employees were helpful and (some not others) were knowledgable. It was a fun way to spend our morning and we got a bunch of great plants! If our crop does well, I plan on going to Growing Gardens again next year!
