The customer service at Louisville's store use to be wonderful, but not anymore. An older woman with dark short hair was definitely the rudest woman I have ever had to deal with. Snapped at me, told me she didn't need to hear my explanation, abrupt and offensive. I had to go back in so I waited 10 minutes for the man in the booth and I shared with him how she truly needed to be trained in customer service. He had no response but he took care of my issue. I always come here anytime I need to fill a new planter pot I just got, or whenever I need more paint or stain! I'm also grateful they're one of the few stores that stay open past 8pm (even during covid!) in Boulder! The pictures below are just a couple of the many projects I've been able to accomplish due to their awesome paint and stain selection! I painted this desk blue, and with the stool (that I plan to use as a plant stand) I sanded it down (with sandpaper from here as well!) and stained the top and painted the bottom, once again all thanks to Home Depot! Nope, nope, nope, no no no no nope! Home Depot wouldn't know customer service if it crashed into their building, ran naked through their store, and stole their lumber all while shouting "my name is Customer Service!" I'm fairly certain if that happened, no one would care. During a visit, I swung by Customer Service to pick up my online order I'd made the evening before. 3 employees were standing at the first register chatting away. They all look back at me, then carried on with their conversation, turning their backs to me even more. I guess no one told them that just because you can't see me, doesn't mean I can't see you -- I'm sure they failed at hide-n-seek every time. But thinking maybe just maybe they're on break, I patiently waited. After a few minutes, the ladies dispersed (everyone else at customer service was still busy with other customers), but 1 stayed and kept her back turned to me. I was having a great afternoon so I decided to quietly stare at the back of her head until she turned around. She did eventually and welcomed me to her register with the greatest amount of negative enthusiasm I've ever seen. I got the item I prepaid for and was out of there. My 10 minute pick up should've been 2 minutes since she literally just had to put my item on a cart, which I already had with me. But nope. She wanted to chat and I wasn't going to be "that" lady so I waited. Kindness is a bitter enema that I'll happily serve to the deserving few. read more

We wanted/needed new countertops in the kitchen and bathroom so, naturally my first thought was Home Depot. (Where else do you go?) We made our selection and approached an associate in the department to write the order. The list of mistakes made by HD is as follows 1. Ordered the wrong product. We had never mentioned the material that was on the order. 2. They laser measured the countertop and still messed up the cut. 3. When I inquired of the HD kitchen decorating team about backsplash material,they had no idea that Caesar stone made a backsplash specifically for this product. 4. Here's the kicker- the replacement for the piece that they screwed up wasn't installed until after Xmas. I washed all the dishes in the bathtub. Piece of ply was my work surface and everything from the kitchen drawers was outside on my porch. Needless to say, there was no apology from HD or the delivery company. My last few visits have been leaps and bounds above my past experiences. Free candy at the info booth about their credit cards, staff going out of their way to help me find what I need (and recommending their best performing product), and just being more friendly overall. The aisles are always clean and there really isn't much you can't find at Home Depot. From a hot dog or burrito at 8am, to new light fixtures, an indoor plant selection that will make the greenest of green thumbs in your office jealous, and cockroach spray (really hope you don't need that), they've got it all! I'll definitely come back for more packing boxes (under $1 each), general house repair goods, and likely some chicken wire (to ensure the cat does not escape off the balcony again). read more

I travel up and down the entire Colorado front range for work and I have been to every HD on the map. NO WHERE compares to how awful this location is. it's so awful I just wrote my very first internet review at 35 years old. You will not find what you need. You will not get help. Disrespectful staff was a surprise, especially when the job really isn't that hard (point out where something is and let me checkout). Growing up I always thought of home depot as straightforward, which is why I liked it. today however, I asked simply why a door was shut for the exit and where to go instead which I was promptly replied to by and elderly lady who worked there with the reason along with unnecessary attitude and cursing (a bit of an over reaction, don't you think?). I get it, retail can be hard, I work in retail and am well aware of it, but that doesn't mean you take it out on someone who askes a simple question. My suggestion, go to McGuckins or Lowe's, maybe there you'll have people who don't act like a donkey over simple questions. read more

Both the Home Depot and the company with which they contract to install countertops have been difficult to work with. Poor communication on both ends. Poor quality work includes a chip in the edge of the quartz that they attempted to repair with a color that doesn't match - they were installed anyway. Backsplashes are not flush with the countertop--they were also installed anyway. Backsplashes are partially sealed over existing caulking. It has been two months. They offered me a small token as a resolution. The manager refuses to call me back, saying he is in meetings. I am unable to get contact information for anyone else. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service! Took a dryer that we had purchased back because it wasn't working and the customer service desk was the absolute worst. We called before going all the way there from Denver and they reassured us that it was OKAY to take it there. We explained what was wrong and they automatically told us that they couldn't take it because of their policy. The girl who was helping us decided to get the manager so we explained it him (he was an older man on the heavier side) The manager for some reason decided to interrupt as we are explaining the situation and tells us "Well I don't give a damn who you talked to, we cant take it!". Ordered blinds for half of my house and was very happy. Went back to the same person to order the same exact blinds for the other half of the house but in blackout and the Home Depot associate discussed the order with me about them being top down bottom up just like I had ordered before. I trusted the Home Depot associate so I do understand that I should have read the agreement but I assumed it was for what i asked for and discussed with the associate since I'm sitting there and she's telling me they are for top down bottom up blackout blinds. The order was put in for top down. Not top down bottom up. I was very clear about wanting top down bottom up. They offered 500 off a new purchase to replace the blinds that they messed up on the order. My mistake for signing the agreement in front of the sales associate on their pin pad whilst she tells me they are top down and bottom up blackout blinds. Terrible experience. Also after the install in one of the rooms the blinds aren't measured correctly so light comes in from the side of one of them. The first install was measured correctly, this one window wasn't. read more

Josh (an associate) was easy to find, and super friendly and helpful. He knew exactly where to find the item I'd found on my phone that said "see an associate", and offered me a boxed item or the built model on the show floor. He walked me around the floor model so that I could be satisfied there were no marks on it. Then he helped me get it out to my car including opening a tool kit so we could dismantle the product enough to fit in the van. He got 2 more associates to help lift it. In all this, he asked whether I needed an often accompanying product to go with my purchase, and talked up how pleased he was with the ratchet set he used to dismantle what I was buying. He did this in a very no-sales-pressure way. I left feeling like he wanted to make me successful rather than trying to make multiple sales. read more

After reading some of the reviews, I decided I should add my experience. I stopped at the Boulder Home Depot for a refrigerator filter. The model I needed had 7 of the 8 versions on the shelf but not mine. I proceeded to pick up two other items totalling around $30. At checkout, I ran my card 5 times before a clerk came to help run it another 4 times. She then noted others had been having problems at that station as well! Now is that stupid or what! I confess, I have my own personal bias towards this store. Having recently purchased and remodeled our house, hubby and I had to make 13 gazillion trips to this store over the course of 9 months, often times several trips in one day. They frequently didn't have what we needed, due to lack of selection or being out-of-stock, and if we needed guidance, which was often due to an incomprehensible organizational system, we often had to make full laps of the store to find someone. That someone usually wasn't someone who actually knew the answer to the question. I also confess, my dislike of big-box stores and the color orange in general started Home Depot off on the wrong foot, but they didn't do anything to change my mind. We had lumber cut at the store by the official lumber-cutter-guy who, we realized after we got home, had no lumber cutting skills (or perhaps measuring skills, a key component). He cut the lumber too small for us to use, and we had to go back to HD, again, to have a talk with customer service. We bought Behr paint. Don't ever make that mistake. 3 coats of primer and 5 coats of white paint later, it turns out Behr paint is crapola. And it's not like we were painting over navy walls or something, oh no, we were painting over baby pink and cream. I still yell at the TV to this day every time Behr paint is advertised. So here are my recommendations: Lumber: HD is fine if you can cut it yourself at home, otherwise go to Sutherland's on Valmont. Paint: Go to Guiry's and get Benjamin Moore, one coat and you're good. Halleluiah! General hardware goods: Go to McGuckin's; they have the selection and the knowledge to get you what you need in one trip. read more

Honestly I'd give it less than one star if I could. Lots of lazy young employees who know nothing about the products they sell, and don't even know how to look up what aisle things are in. But the worst thing is that their rolling stairs are in every aisle. When I go to buy large items and use the heavy duty carts, I'm basically trapped in the front of the store looking for an aisle I can even walk through. How do the contractors do it?! I like to support the local businesses like Mcgukins or Do It Best. I do have to say, however, that the services I received at this Home Depot is at least as good as the local stores if not better. The tool rental guys (especially Chris) went above and beyond what they're paid to do to assist me, a hardware newbie. I rent the carpet cleaning equipment from Home Depot in Boulder at least 6 times a year. Additionally, I am a customer who spends thousands a year with Home Depot. Today (Super Bowl Sunday), my son returned a 24-hour rental. We were an hour late. I am an older woman who needed my son to return the equipment for me because it is too heavy for me to load and unload in my car. He was kind enough to interrupt his day to do this for me. The rental employee was less than accommodating and would not forgive the hour tardiness. He instead upcharged me 30% for the rental. He didn't care that we are regular rental customers and was completely unwilling to help us out. I will discontinue renting from Home Depot and I suggest anyone who is considering renting tools and equipment from them, please look elsewhere. It is important to take care of your consistent customers and at least attempt to be accommodating. read more

After pacing the flooring section for between 15 - 20 min, I finally had to walk back to the front of the store and ask them to send someone over. After going back to flooring, I waited another 5 minutes before the same employee wandered back to tell me that no one was available to help me. If I had any questions, I should walk back to the front of the store & ask someone. The customer service at this Home Depot is ridiculous beyond a comical degree.
