Our Home Boys experience has been excellent start to finish. We have been in our Clayton Built home almost two years now. With very minimal issues, anything that has randomly popped up or needed to be addressed/fixed has been taken care of promptly and professionally. Marissa is always so friendly and quick to respond and help me with any questions. All crew members who have made service calls have been awesome. Greg came out recently in a pinch to help with a leak under my sink and fixed it right up, he went above and beyond to make sure it was taken care of for me. Thank you guys! Once things do not go the way the owner wants for him you have no advocate on their premise. And are also threatened and spoken to harshly and condescending. once they realize you choose to hire a lawyer they do everything in their ability to make it more difficult to terminate and walk away. I am a 67 year old senior who their owner chooses to keep harassing through text even though you have let him know you do not wish to speak with him. Now all his text are laced with sugar and spice. He has said numerous times we just want to make this a good experience. Unfortunately when you deliver me a home that I did not order with the wrong floor plan and refused delivery you choose to come after me and not the manufacturer.You also choose to set the home after being asked not too. Till this issue was resolved Because you wanted to make sure I understood that You were in control! I don't know who is ultimately responsible for this but I do know he is choosing to come after a senior on social security. Who invested every penny she had to put trust in this business . The owner nor anyone at home boys knows the true issues with this home and how I had plans drawn up based on the home I was shown. When your home arrives they do not go out and check the home with the order. First mistake in my opinion. Then they send out a customer service employee who shows up with no reference to the home I ordered. I had to bring it up on my phone. He also let me know that he was leaving at one that day and did not answer his phone during the weekend because he was an hourly employe. Second mistake. Final mistake was expecting me to settle by having the manufacturer come out (one month later) and fix the door entry. I have been packed for weeks, I am already paying lease on my lot, I have alread paid a contractor for work to prep site, my lease expires on June 1st. And the owner refuses to let me have my deposit back and to threaten me with breech of contract and 20% fee. THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR INTEREST AT HEART UNLESS IT IS BENEFICIAL TO THEM!! THE OWNER IN MY OPINION IS HEARTLESS, CONDESCENDING AND AA BULLY. Horrible customer service after purchase. They did a bait and switch for the kitchen and bathroom fixtures, door handles and drawer pulls. I also did not receive a $7000 heat pump I ordered. I also think I remember that the model had a farm style kitchen sink which wasn't part of what I received. I kept verifying that what I was ordering would be exactly like the model...I even asked again before I signed the contract. I would have paid for the upgrade. They have not resolved my flooring issues, continued floor squeaks, and left it up to me to schedule a plumber for a leak under my house after I was told that a plumber would be calling me to schedule something. I hope there isn't mold growing underneath my house. I am sharing with everyone I know and am writing reviews everywhere that I can that they do not follow through their commitments to the customer and that the customer service after purchase is extremely disappointing. WARRANTY TIME FRAME: 1.) THE LIMITED ONE-YEAR WARRANTY BEGINS WHEN THE HOME IS DELIVERED TO ITS PERMANENT LOCATION, NOT AFTER THE FINAL WALK THROUGH! Example: If the home is delivered in March, and for various reasons like the carpet doesn't get installed until July, delaying move in, there is now only 8 months left of warranty coverage! 2.) WINDOWS: THE WINDOWS IN YOUR BRAND-NEW HOME, ARE NOT COVERED BY THE HOMES LIMITED MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY! Example: If your windows fail, such as (growing huge mold spots) while you're under the Manufacturer's warranty, you will be instructed by Golden West of Albany to contact the Window's manufacturer for warranty! (This information is not disclosed in your Clayton Built handbook or by the Home Boy's of Spokane WA, from whom our home was purchased) Upon contacting the Window Manufacturer (Lippert Components, inc.) you will find that their warranty begins, when the home manufacturer installs the windows during production. Their (Lippert Components, Inc.) warranty covers the glass for 5 years, install for only one year. This meant for us that while we were still under the home's warranty, we were two months past the Window install portion of the window warranty. We now have 5, six-foot pieces of glass in our shed with no means to install them! 3.) DRY-WALL: ONCE YOU TAKE POSSESION OF YOUR NEW HOME, THE MANUFACTURERS LIMITED ONE YEAR WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DEFECTS IN THE DRY WALL! Example: While under warranty, if the dry-wall cracks, splits down the corners or the tape peels, you will be informed by Albany Oregon's customer service rep that," your home was delivered and excepted with no dry-wall issue's and is no longer under warranty"! 4.) WALK THROUGH FORMS: AT THE END OF YOUR WALK THROUGH, TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR WALK-THROUGH FORMS, ESPECIALLY IF THERE WERE MISSING OR DEFECTIVE THINGS NOTED. YOU WILL NOT BE GIVEN A COPY! Example: There were a few things listed on our forms, when we contacted Albany Oregon to follow up on those and a couple of other issues (In writing), The Home Boy's denied knowing of any issues at walk through even though I took pictures of my forms! The homes from Clayton homes are beautiful, however the home boys do not do what they say they are going to do and do not complete things that are included in what you pay for! They will throw the customer and other businesses/subcontractors under the bus to make themselves look good! We have been dealing with them for a year now, and our new hone is still not complete! If you read all of the horrible reviews on all the diffrent sites, you will see how many people they've screwed over, it's absolutly disgusting! I bought a home a year ago. It was absolutely awful. Cheaply slapped together with no respect for the buyer. They had so many things to fix, and they fought me all the way. Still have things that need fixing. "DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.!!!!!!" If you really have to buy a home, go to Perersons in Post Falls Idaho. Do not buy from Home Boys. Unless you want to deal with head ache after head ache, and find more problems as you go. Really try to get a stick built, even if it's small. You can always add on to a stick built, without a super lot of problems. Haveba shop built for a garage and storage, if you need to. Again "Do Not BUY Ever from Home Boys.!!!" I paid extra for energy efficient home. But they never sealed and finished the roof to the walls, instead they used the trim to hide it. And the same with floor boards. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE We went into their establishment to purchase a manufactured home in April of 2021 and gave 17k down to do so. We were told the house would probably be ready Nov 2021 but possibly not until Jan 2022. It is now April 2022 and we just picked up our fully refunded 17k. We were told constantly that there were issues building because of Covid and when they asked us to pay an additional 35k to the total bill due to costs rising, so we pulled out. They said the 17k was to lock into the contract and admitted that they were "mistaken" and the price wouldn't lock in until 30 days before building. Which was constantly pushed back. They did not honor their contract. Their response was "They were really sorry" I hope they are ashamed of themselves and go out of business. I would not recommend them. read more

Home Boys has been great towork with. I live in Montana and they are in Washington. Everything has been done via email and on the phone. Grant was great. He assisted in choosing hardware, counters, even measuring windows so I could order blinds ahead of time. They responded quickly whenever I had a question or concern. I am more than pleased and they would be my go to place should I decide to buy another manufactured home. I would like them to stock homes that are baselined price without a bunch of fuufuu upgrades so you can get a better idea of what upgrades would really be needed to avoid a low grade home. The house delivered was a completely different color scheme and different details than was outlined on our sales agreement. When attempting to discuss a compromise with the owner, we were told ' too bad take it or leave it'. Additionally, the interior is full of cracks, and the repairs made were insufficient. The house was left very dirty, with smudges and drips from the repairs left on appliances, cupboards and counters. Overall, this purchase was a very poor decision on our part. So I bought my home a year ago now and I wanted to wait to do a review so I wouldn't do anything hastily. So, we ordered our home in June and were promised that it'd be done in six weeks which was great and that's why we went with a mobile home instead of building. Fast forward six weeks, no house, call our sales rep. after 3 calls we finally get a hold of him said it's probably going to be a few more weeks. Called again after two more weeks, three phone calls later we're promised that it would be a couple more weeks. After another two weeks call again and can't get ahold of the sales rep. at all. End up talking to the manager and he called the factory and what not. Found out it wouldn't be done till the middle to end of October. Keep in mind it should have been done in August. So the time finally comes and they go down to get it and the frame is flexing so they can't bring it back and will be another week or more. It finally arrived on my property after 21 weeks!!!! So I then asked if they could put a rush on my home since they finalized all my paperwork in October, so I was making house payments in November and December for a home I wasn't living in yet. That is when they tell me it could take four to eight weeks to set up and make liveable. Which is something they never mentioned in the paper work we signed back in June.--partly my own fault should have read the fine print-- but they did try to get it done as fast as they could so that was one of the bright spots to this hole deal. Now fast forward to this year, I get a text from the guy that does the set up of the homes and asks if I would like any work done to my home, paint an accent wall or what not, to help up their ratings and reviews. I said no but I have some doors that aren't hung correctly so they don't close right and a few cracks in the drywall and my carpets need retightened. I was told they could do it in the next week or so. TWO MONTHS later I still haven't seen or heard from them so I call and text, no answer. Call and text the next week, still nothing. So finally I email the manager and get a phone call the next day saying that they could be out in an hour to look at my home which I can't do with no notice because I'm at work!! Then I get an email from the manager saying they won't fix drywall cracks or the carpet because it's in the 20 page contract that the salesman went over with me in 2 minutes when I bought the home. So again they forgot to mention and I should have read the fine print. So at this point after all the the bs I'm at the point where it's not even worth dealing with them cause it's easier to do it myself or just pay someone to come and fix all the stuff that wasn't done right the first time. Then we come to the poor to mediocre quality of the home itself, which home boys can't help, but it is still a product that they sell so it needs to be mentioned. Start off with the walls, they are visibly crooked, trim in the windows is horrible because the corners don't line up. Carpet is so thin that the hold down nails will poke you in the feet when walking across the carpet. Floors squeak everywhere. Outlets in the wall are crooked and aren't flush with the drywall. Grouting in the shower is horrendous because they didn't wash off half the excess so there is grout in the middle of the one foot tiles. Didn't send the house with all the door knobs so we didn't get them for a month after we where living in the home and still have two knobs that are different from the others in the house. read more

I went to get info for my in-laws whose home just burned in a fire. When I got there they were not very friendly or helpful. When I asked for information I was rudely told to look online. I reiterated that I'm getting this for my in-laws who don't have computer access as they are living in their motor home after the fire. So he went and got me some info. I've been in my home for four months and have had numerous problems. and now arguing over warranty. From my experience they do not stand behind their product and they do not stand behind their warranty. And the customer service is terrible after you give them your money. Spend the extra money get a Palm Harbor you're going to be spending the money in the long run anyway you might as well get a better home. read more

Plain and simple, we got ran around in circles just as well as other customers. I had everything figured out and payed off and the homesite ready about a month ago just for them to say they couldn't find the house when it was in their own lot. Along with pushing it backs two weeks I called again about the delivery that was said to be coming and never did. It was never even scheduled. So I called again and had it scheduled Wednesday which is today only to get a call saying they won't be able to deliver or have it scheduled for it to be delivered because of road conditions. May I state that we had the homesite ready before Thanksgiving before snow even touched the ground. So now I'm left waiting when I spent 60k on this home only for it to be out in there lot waiting for it to be delivered. All the stress with the delays makes me regret making any sort of purchase from The Home Boys. read more

We didn't have high expectations for manufactured homes, but were pleasantly surprised as we looked through the models on their lot. They are not the same quality as site built homes and some are pretty poor quality, but they were still better than I expected. That was about where the good ended. The sales lady, Deanna, seemed annoyed we were there and didn't want to show us the homes but have us go through ourselves. However, we were moving quickly and had a lot of questions. So, my mother-in-law purchased a higher-end model. The purchase contract says 8-10 weeks from signing to deliver but they said they were running 6-8 weeks so we should be sure to have the site ready by six weeks. Come eight weeks, they told us the house was done and we paid the balance except the last 10% due after delivery. We had the site ready by six weeks, but it was fine if it went the contracted length of time. During that time, we were stubbing in power and water. We needed to know where on the house the connections were for these, but Deanna couldn't tell us. She told us if we had a contractor we would figure it out. Yeah, well we have been successful custom home builders before and know how to read plans. The information wasn't on there, which is why she couldn't tell us where they were, either. If we asked anyone else, they passed the buck back to Deanna who grew very short and rude with us. We did obtain a sort of plan of the home when we purchased it, but it didn't have any dimensions (distances) noted either. She was very condescending and short with us and openly expressed her annoyance that she had to work with us. We were pleasant and excited at this point of time, but starting to feel leery as she horrible to us. Junior and the other owners started seeming really shady, too. After my mother-in-law paid them (not financed), they said they went to pick up the home and all the tires were flat. Unfortunately, they didn't have enough spares to bring it back. (Seriously ... and their dog ate their homework?) So, apparently the driver went all the way out there, had flat tires, so he drove home empty-handed. It doesn't make any sense. So, that was the first excuse, I mean "delay." They then said that they couldn't drive the day before or after a holiday, but that meant they weren't going any day that week. They next said there was a closed bridge they couldn't get through. So, we told them of the alternate route approved for the load, and they said they would have to personally drive it first. They never did. They said they were going to a funeral of their uncle and could handle it when they got back. Funny thing is that Junior told us that excuse, but when we called and talked to another owner (their father), he didn't know about any funeral or dead family member. Oops. Failed to coordinate lies. I won't go into them all, but after about five or six excuses, they started recycling them. For all of the closed roads or bridges, we provided alternate routes that they never considered. So now we sit three months after the house was supposed to be delivered and we have no house. By the way, we contacted the state department of transportation and they never even applied for a transportation permit. They are good for five days and enable the state to work with them in finding alternate routes and such. The house is sized such that it needs its own trip permit. To me, if they have never even applied for one, that means they never have intended to deliver it. They don't return phone calls - they say they will but they don't. They are very unscrupulous and I would never recommend them unless you don't need your house. My mother-in-law chose this to live in because it would be much faster than building one, especially in an area with almost no contractors. Turns out we could have built her a better house in this amount of time. Now, how do we get our money back ... sounds like we may not get it for another YEAR from now! It's a scam. UPDATE: I was not another year, but it was another month for a total of four months late. From what we hear, that's excellent service from them. While I'm not giving specific names, locals will know who I'm talking about from others who have talked to us. There are usually far more explicatives than not whenever the name "Home Boys" comes up: Our well-driller's mother purchased one in early November for promised delivery in January. Accordingly and just as my mother-in-law did, she sold her house to close about a month after getting her own house. So, she was homeless until the house delivered the next summer. A local excavator and grader purchased a home from them and paid in full up front. After the eight weeks or so of not hearing from them, he called to find out about delivery. They pretended to not know him or his house order. They ran him round and round in circles for a full year before they delivered his house. Avoid them like the plague. read more

The tolerance of even the most patient runs dry after months and months of dealing with these people and seeing no change. It is almost impossible to get a hold of them. They have always stepped out of the office, have something that "came up" that is neither clear or consistent, a dental surgery that makes them unavailable for a week, are on vacation for a week because they are SO stressed (is it from avoiding their customers?), and many others. It doesn't matter if your life is a mess because they won't give you the house they promised ages ago when you paid them money that they cashed promptly, they don't want to talk to you. Everyone knows summer is the time of road construction. The state is pretty simple and straightforward about getting permits, pleasant when you call, and other companies seem to be able to figure it out. Home Boys said they were going to have to "get tough with the state" to get permits because they couldn't move any houses and because of our trouble no houses would move before they took care of ours. What do I see today? A two part oversized load manufactured home being delivered near where I live, PAST all the road construction that made our house undeliverable, with Home Boy's logo slapped on all of the pilot cars. Of course, they are unavailable to talk and will be for over a week. Avoid Home Boys unless you are content with lies when no progress is made and they have your money. Review of Home Boys Manufactured Home Sales Owners/Sale: 3 Crews/staff: 5 Overall experience: 2 Our experience was bittersweet. On the positive side, the owners, staff, and crew were always very courteous. Most appeared genuinely interested in making us happy. And our home is awesome. We were able to customize the floor plan exactly how we wanted it. The home is very good quality. So, when all was said and done, we were very happy. However, we had a lot to complain about during the process. We first started shopping for a home in August of 2015. In the beginning, it felt like we were going to have a great experience. As challenges appeared, though, it seemed that Home Boys' communications began to break down. I had times when I'd ask the owner to handle a certain problem and he'd tell me it was the sales person's job. I'd turn to the sales person who would tell me they didn't know what I was talking about, that I should have contacted the owner. I kept record of my interactions with Home Boys and the various contractors involved in our process. There were numerous delays and challenges all along the way. According to my records, delays and broken promises from Home Boys directly resulted in over $6,500 out-of-pocket costs for us. Every entity played a part in the numerous delays: me, the weather, our lender, appraiser, the general contractor, manufacturing plant, and Home Boys. I found it interesting that the lender, contractor, and manufacturing plant all owned up to their roles in the delays. In fact, all proactively compensated us in some way even when we did not ask for anything. For example, there was a slight delay with the lender, but a big delay with the appraiser. The lender, who had no control over the timeliness of the appraiser, took responsibility for the appraiser's delays and waived one month's worth of construction-delay fees. Another example, the manufacturing plant neglected to install the flooring we ordered and upon delivery, most of the home was bare subflooring. Further, they neglected to send the flooring with the home with no plan on how to ship or install the correct flooring. They proactively upgraded our flooring to higher quality and coordinated with Home Boys in its delivery and installation. Shortly after the home was installed, I emailed my records to Home Boys. I received a call from one of the owners who asked me about my experience. I told him that the home is perfect and his support staff and labor crews were all amazing, but that I still hold reservations about the ownership and sales staff. He denied having any role in the delays, that all of it was due to weather. I reminded him that his co-owner had promised to deliver our home on March 1, 2017 as long as I had the accumulated snow removed from our property by February 24, 2017. As I reminded him, I hired a contractor to excavate snow off our land. The contractor and I met with a Home Boys representative on the property on February 24, 2017 and strategized where the excess snow would be moved to. The snow was removed that day. The Home Boys representative confirmed that our home was scheduled for delivery on March 1, 2017. It cost me over $1,500 to have that snow removed. On March 1, 2017, the contractor was on hand for the delivery in case there were any extra challenges. Home Boys did not deliver my home, nor did they call and let me know that they didn't plan to show up. The contractor and I were both left waiting and wondering. I had to call Home Boys to find out what happened. Then they told me there were two delays: their delivery truck had broken down in Oregon and they had moved another customer ahead of us. By the time they delivered our home weeks later, all of the snow had melted, and I felt like I had waisted $1,500. I could give several other examples of delays and added costs directly attributable to Home Boys. In the aforementioned conversation with the owner, he offered to buy my wife and I dinner and movies to show gratitude for our business, the total value of which amounted to about $200. His gesture felt pretty weak considering how much extra this process cost us. Lastly, I have researched the various online reviews of Home Boys. I found it interesting to see several reviews written by staff or family. Home Boys' previous owner, Steven Randock Sr., had spent time in prison for illegal business practices. It's that owner's children who now own Home Boys. As nice as the owners are, it's easy to speculate negative things about their business ethics. I gave the owners and sales staff a 3 out of 5 because I enjoyed their company. Even though they never admitted playing any part in the delays, and even though they broke many promises, I enjoyed being around them. They kept one important promise: a perfect home. read more

Kirk let building delays keep piling up, which has resulted in an October 20 delivery date being turned into an indefinite delay. Kirk's relaxed attitude and lack of concern has exacerbated this the point where litigation seems to be our only option. Pray before spending any money with these guys; any cost savings will be used up before it's all said and done. In other words, run the other direction! read more
