Super helpful and knowledgeable staff…read more Large inventory, I found items the big boxes didn't have. Fair prices. Hardworking and helpful yard staff. Thanks!

I never imagined I would be writing a review for a lumber company. The fact that I am hopefully…read moreresonates and speaks volumes about my experience at Savemore. One thing I realize as I grow is how business has changed literally everywhere, especially when it comes to personalized customer service. This is a thing that appears to be gone in the big box stores like Home Depot and Lowes stores. Being that I am Transgender, perhaps I worry about this factor a bit more than others because I am in a class of people that is not the common everyday people. Maybe you would not think it matters but it REALLY does. There are many people and probably a majority of people that do not yet understand so some people can be rather standoffish, confused or even very rude. In fact, most people haven't figured out how to address trans people yet. It is sad but it is true. Because engaging with people can be awkward at times, I have gotten used to cracking a quick joke or two about myself during this process to more or less get this out in the open, add levity or even remove the elephant in the room. It seems to work well for me. I looked at my Sales Associate and said, "Yall must not have many Trannys come in off the street to buy lumber." He looked at me and said, "No, we really don't. In fact I have never met one before." We both got a pretty good laugh and he really became great to work with and treated me with respect. My Sales Associate was a young man named Brett Burdick. When I entered Savemore and after a friendly greeting, he offered to help me with the long and arduous task of planning a rather huge deck. I was struggling with a rather crude illustration I had made to explain what I needed to assemble my project, Brett smiled, took my drawing and said, "Let me help you with that." He began clicking away at the computer and after a slightly uncomfortable and silent five minutes, he handed me back a printout of building materials I would need with a price and everything. I was so relieved, the printouts even included screws, lag bolts and flashing. He had thought of every detail and it was under my budget. This was absolutely paramount to me as I barely knew what I was doing and as you can probably guess, this was a very intimidating process for me. In my mind, Mr. Burdick really stepped up to do his job at the risk of fellow employees perhaps assaulting him with bad tranny jokes after I had left the store. This is just a reality and these things happen more than you can imagine. I think it is just a way for people to deal with something they don't see on a daily basis. I thanked him for a good experience, for treating me so well and most of all for making me feel like a human being. It turns out Brett Burdick's family owns this company. A very good company with a very friendly culture. This really is huge because as you know, in any organization culture breeds from the top down and all the employees at Savemore reflect Brett's friendly and helpful attitude and I would never shop for lumber or building supplies anywhere else again. Even if Home Depot was cheaper which it really is not, the service I continue to get from Mr Burdick and staff is simply worth more to me than being ignored at Home Depot. I could go on and on about this company but they is so many hours in a day. This is an important review because I feel like I made a good friend that day and smaller companies like Savemore are getting rare. I really hope everybody sees this and goes in to buy from the Burdick family and continues to support this family built business. You will be glad you did. If you run into Brett Burdick, please tell him Breezy, his new Tranny friend sent you in. I am confident you will both chuckle and you will have a great experience at Savemore Lumber. I hope this heartfelt review helps and if you made it this far, thank you.

I'm a contractor myself so i know what's ALL involved in building a shop. from site prep, permits, planning, start to finish. they kept us informed daily. I am TOTALY EMPRESSED and 110% SAISFIED WITH STAN AND HIS CREW AND WITH THE PRICE AND THE HOLE PROCESS START TO FINISH!! This building is one well-built sturdy Beautifull building. I would highly recommend Gibraltar Steel Buildings

They may build good buildings but since they backed out of our contract, I'll never know. First we…read morewere told that OSB price went way up and that plywood was actually cheaper and that feared other pricing would go up. My hubby said fine, use plywood and get the bldg ordered. But Stan kept putting off ordering building and then when he went to order, he called and said the price went way up and that the company wanted the building 100% paid for up front and my hubby said okay, I'll write a check to them because then they won't need to put a lien on my property. (He had told us it's customary for a company to put a lien on a person's property until the building is paid for and then it's released.) And Stan blew up and said oh no, you can't do that. You have to write the check to us and I then write a check to them. "You don't trust me then", he said to my husband and my husband was like, no, but it's not about trust it's about being a smart consumer. Also, we have a motorhome and Stan had first asked if we'd be able to move it to the end of our driveway when the time came for the guy to come to do the groundwork. We said yes. Then later he told us that it had to be moved completely off the property or it would be in the way. We have a big, wide, long driveway and my hubby there's plenty of room and then Stan started saying that it would tear up our driveway and probably our yard too and that I needed to be prepared for that. So my hubby was asking him more about that because we don't want everything tore up and we'd talked about the equipment/truck they'd be bringing and he'd never said anything about that before. It felt as though he was trying to make US back out, like he really didn't want to do our building after all because they were kind of slammed with another project that wasn't going right and then they had a really big project to do after ours and ours was being pushed back a bit because of the supply chain, he said. He got real squirrely toward the end so I don't really know why he flaked on us. So now all of our stuff is around our yard that was in the storage building we tore down in anticipation of the new shop and here we are into September and the chances of finding someone else to do it THIS FALL is nil. So he's really left us with a mess.
