One year in, we REALLY wish we would have been told that PVC decking builds static electricity. Our toddlers refuse to go out on the deck because anytime they touch the door handle, railing, chair, or another person they get a big shock. Sometimes the shock is loud and hurts. So now we have the big deck that the kids don't like using. Learning about this after getting zapped a bunch last year we called to ask and were told that Dynamic Deck was not aware of this problem. I find that difficult to believe due to the huge number of complains I find online about PVC decking and static electricity. There are also a handful areas where the decking is not level and the kids feet catch tripping them. read more

They charged a lot and did a crappy job. Cutting a handrail too short they faked it instead of replacing the piece. The steps cracked in 6 months as they were not supported properly. This company came with a high recommendation but I can't agree. read more

There are not enough words to describe how amazing this family owned company is. Mike and his team went above and beyond building us a beautiful custom deck. We were previously entertaining working with another local "contractor" that goes by North River Decks, found out after demo that he was unlicensed and not in good standing with L&I amongst other questionable things. So we switched contractors and brought Dynamic Decks on to do the job. They came prepared, were able to quickly design and draw-up our vision and took care of the permitting process. They came to the table with numerous design adaptations as the construction progressed that improved on the proposed design (such as ways to incorporate and support a hot tub, material recommendations and railing height recommendations to accommodate events). Every time there was an issue that needed trouble shooting the team addressed it with professionalism and care, asking my opinion and letting me know what the pros and cons were of each. The crew were respectful of my space and left a clean site as well as being pleasant to have around. Mike was easy to work with and ready to answer questions and manage concerns throughout the whole process without any friction. I am so impressed with this company. He not only helped us with design and materials, he finished ahead of schedule and did not cut corners. We've had 2 projects for which Dynamic Decks was used. They first completed warranty work for replacement of decking/railing on our front porch. The bid they gave was accurate and very fair. I was shocked how much better/more modern our home turned out from their work. More recently we needed some steps reworked coming off a flagstone patio. I hired this company to install Azek decking with a black aluminum railing and glass panel inserts. I was told it would take 2-3 days since we had a fairly straightforward, uncomplicated deck. While there were two hiccups discovered while they were waiting for the sonotube forms to dry, they were not issues that held up the project and I appreciated them replacing a board that was dry rotted. Unfortunately, the other issue was a bee's nest and although my son gave them several cans of bee killer, they poked clear through the wall into my house while jabbing at the nest with the handle of the rake. They apologized and we moved along. I was of course charged for the replacement board but offered no restitution for having to repair the drywall in my hallway myself. The deck and railing were completed one week after they started not including the glass panels that had to be ordered to size after the railing was installed. The installer told me it would be two to three days but when the owner, Matt came to pick up his check, he said two to three weeks. A week after I paid for the entire deck and railing, I received the standard preliminary notice from their supplier. I texted Matt and asked him to please pay for my materials to his supplier since I had already paid him and to provide me with the final lein release that relinquished all claims against my property. He said, "Will do." A week or two later his guys show up with the glass panels to install. Glad I was home as they did not call or text first. After the glass install I looked at the job they had done and it was terrible. The rubber gaskets were twisted in some places falling out in others and generally not installed properly. I also noted other deficiencies in workmanship so I texted the owner and asked him if he could please come look at my project. He said it would be some time the following week. I said that would be fine. The week came and went without a word and I still do not have the lien waiver from the supplier when I see our facia board has completely popped from the joint, screws pulled completely out. I text the owner again saying I hadn't heard from or seen him the previous week and that there are several issues I would like to discuss with him and I send a picture. He never answered. A day or two later the installer calls to say he is picking up all new material to come install. He tells me he will be there Monday. I tell him we are on vacation but will be home. He doesn't show up and finally calls us at 4:00 pm to say he intended to be there but the owner had other plans for him and he hoped to be there Tuesday. I texted the owner we have projects we are trying complete while on vacation, some of which relate to the deck that we can't complete until the deck is done. He promises the installer will be here the next day. He shows up the next afternoon, and asks to borrow our drill and for my husband to help him remove the glass panels. Then it turns out these gaskets are terrible too so he has to order some. Again the promise of, I will text you updates, never got one. He called and left a message that they would be in at 10 am and he will pick them up immediately. 1:00 pm I text for an update. He is on his way to get them then headed over. He brought someone to help this time which was nice but his first words were, "Is there a corner of your yard i can take a piss in?" I said, "excuse me?" Then showed him to the restroom. They just left having installed the new gaskets and while that part now looks great, he scratched nearly every aluminum post with his drill while doing it. Basically, i love the product but the interactions with nearly everyone in the company from the owner to the field staff was terrible. The quality of work is subpar and the owner is not interested in seeing what is being done under his name. I chose the top of the line materials and was assured I was hiring the top of the line company to install it. Still no release from the supplier and I paid 30 days ago. read more
