So this is my story, in the fall of '23 I moved from North Carolina to Spokane. I purchased a twenty year old house that still had the original paint on the walls. And senior citizens had lived in it all that time, so it kinda looked like it was from the 80s. Being the HGTV fan that I am, I needed a handyman and a paint brush. So I went to the internet. I found Burgan Home Services, Brandon asked questions about what I needed and suggested Jake would be a good fit for my needs. Over the next six months, Jake renovated the second kitchen, moved walls and doors, ripped up 20 year old carpet and taught me how to install LVP. He was great. BTW, I only scheduled him a couple of days a week because I wanted to do some of the work myself. He could have gotten it done faster without me as his helper. I had saved the renovation of the 3 bathrooms for the last project. Brandon came over and wrote up an estimate and I had sticker shock. So I went back to the internet and found another contractor for a quote, and second guy was significantly lower (and more in line with east coast prices). So yeah, I signed a contract with the second contractor. Significantly less, remember. What a significantly huge mistake, second guy talked a good game but I think he was watching YouTube videos in my bathroom. Trying to figure out how to fix my bathroom. Plus asking for money without making any progress. Then he quit coming at all. Fast forward to now and we get to the something special. I called Burgan Home Services and talked with Stacy (she's the scheduler). I just wanted some guidance on what to do. Brandon came to my house the same day. He expressed his sympathy for my situation and pledged to help me navigate through whatever recourse I have with the YouTube watching contractor. Burgan Home Services will be finishing the bathrooms. I highly recommend them, their work and their customer service. They have my loyalty and will always be my go to contractor/handyman.

They worked around the siding contractors with no problem and started masking everything they could after washing. We used Sherwin-Williams paint, and they did a primer coat followed by 2 layers of paint. While the prep work was being done, they noticed we needed some repair to an existing deck and took care of that as well for a fair price. They started early and worked late to get the project done quickly. We had them do accent coloring around the front windows and on the columns, and it looks great as well. I was hesitant to go with them at first because their price was so competitive that it made me nervous, but they gave me a couple references to call and they only had good things to say about working with Danial and his team. After the project was complete, they did a thorough clean up of the property as well.

We never visited the company's store location, as the Jamie, the owner, agreed to travel to our property to discuss the project and execute the agreement. After deciding to cancel the project, we submitted our cancellation request 21 days later, and the company acknowledged receipt of our cancellation dated June 25, 2026. Since that time, we have repeatedly requested updates regarding our refund and the status of our cancellation. Despite our continued efforts to communicate, we have not received a clear timeline or meaningful updates. The ongoing delays and lack of communication have been extremely frustrating and have caused unnecessary emotional stress. Jaime still has still to date not provided any documentation showing that a door or any other materials were purchased on our behalf, despite our many requests. We are deeply disappointed by the company's lack of communication, failure to complete any work, and poor customer service. I would steer clear from anyone wanting to do business with Jaime and his, so called business. Lastly, he will dispute that there is a policy in his agreement and indeed there is none. Here is how the agreement outlines: No provision stating that refunds take 60-90 days. In particular: Page 1 covers: Scope of Work Time/Substantial Completion Payments Change Orders Delays Punch List Warranty There is no refund timeline in these sections. Page 2 covers: Warranty details Dispute resolution (mediation/arbitration) Risk of Loss Assignment Page 3 is the Washington State contractor disclosure statement. As I relayed my concerns he responded in depth ways we could solve the issues one by one...and my house had a fair number of issues. He showed me ways I could save money which I liked since I know he could easily have sold me more services than I needed, not knowing I am a retired General Contractor and was pretty aware of the options. That made me trust him and his business ethics. From that point the job was smooth, clear, and the ongoing communications between his workers and me were easy and always meaningful in my best interest. I prefer doing business with smaller companies where the owner is accessible, reasonable, respectful, and most of all...honest. I got all of that and more with John who owns Inland Roofing and his crew which included his son, Hayden. I highly recommend Inland Roofing for all the reasons that should matter to everyone. When I was there in April doing major repairs and remodel from all the damage a tenant did, the water damage to the wood floor under the refrigerator turned the wood black and lifted them from the floor, so since John had done the refinish job in 2013, I naturally contacted him. I liked John's work albiet he was not able to remove all the damage but did a great job nonetheless. I called him and he said he was very busy but would get out within a week to assess the damage and tell me what he could do. Then I never heard back. I left another 2 messages. By the time I did hear back I had already had to hire someone else, and presumed John was too busy or this was not a priority, which upset me since I was already a customer. Unfortunately I found out that John had injured his leg w a nail gun and went to the hospital, but that was after I wrote the review and had to pay someone else to repair the damage. His explanation was certainly understandable and I would never want to hurt someone's business if there is a reasonable explanation. However, my input here is that his wife or someone else who worked w him should have been calling his customers immediately (not wait for me to finally get him on the phone to find out what happened) to inform them that he would not be able to work for however long he needed to heal, I certainly would have understood. I have been in the hospital for serious injuries so understand how crazy that can be. But being self employed brings certain responsibilities if you want to maintain a good client base. His original work was beautiful and he did 3 coats on my floor, and gave me a good price. I was very happy with those results, so I would recommend his work.
