I definitely hesitated when I read previous reviews about this CDA Great Floors but an SO happy I decided to check it out. The floor room has so many great displays and choices. I had the BEST customer service from Julie. I went in on a Thursday afternoon and spoke with Julie about replacing the carpet on my staircase- she gave me some excellent suggestions on design that I would not have know or thought of. I really appreciated her expertise. I went back in on Friday and placed my order. Julie informed me she would get back to me next week, when the carpet arrived at their warehouse as it was coming from another store. I called 1 week later just to get an update. Julie called me back right away and told me she could schedule the install for the next day between 8-9am. Woohoo! The installer Bill called me at approximately 815 am to let me know he was on the way. Bill was polite and professional. I told him the previous install of carpet had a flaw at the top of the stairs that really bugged me. He said he would do his best to install it so it would be less obvious. Bill did an amazing job with the installation, cleaned up everything and made the top stair look great. Same experience as others, no call back. Three different calls each time they tried to be helpful promised a call back on the first two calls. I called noting my dissatisfaction on third call. No apology just want me to explain again for third time. Once failing to service, it happens, twice failing is a pattern, three times failing is their culture of a lack of service. So looking elsewhere, service is clearly not part of their credo. read more

I came in at 1:30pm on a Saturday afternoon and there were no other customers and 3 ladies seated at their desks on their computers, none wearing masks. I wandered around for 10 minutes and nobody asked me if I needed assistance or checked on me. Then, another couple walks in and one of the ladies immediately jumped up to help them. Not sure why I don't deserve any assistance, but point taken. Terrible customer service. I'll gladly not give them my business if they don't want to treat me like a paying customer. read more

Hi... It is Barb again responding to Corporate.. Please don't give the impression that you contacted Shaw Industries.., your company wouldn't even come out and look after I sent pictures. I contacted them... I wanted to make sure floor wasn't defective and was installed correctly. I had to plead for them to send someone out. The gal at Shaw had recently lost her husband too and knew what I was going through and felt sorry for me so she sent someone out. Great Floors wouldn't even call me back. Steve from Great Floors saw the pictures and said I spilled something... end of story! To think I am spilling something in a brand new house in 5 different areas after paying $20,800 for these floors is crazy. I live alone! I don't know what happened to the floors... I am thinking painters spilled something and tried to clean it up and it developed into what looks like bleach spots when sun hit it. But I don't know.. I am not a flooring expert. I trusted Great Floors to not install my expensive floors until after texturing and painting was completed. I also trusted RYN Homes to look after my best interest... they both failed me! I take every opportunity to tell people about this. I did not spill anything... how easy is it to blame it on me so they don't have to accept responsibility! I used Great Floors when we bought our house back in 2007 because that's where the builder used. Had nothing but trouble with the crappie installation of my upgraded hard wood floors. I fought with them for a few years but bottom line they would not stand behind their product!! Shame on me, made the mistake of going back almost 3 years ago and purchased carpeting. Installer was great BUT the carpet wasn't holding up so had someone come out. FYI it took forever to get something done and the rep that came out had already decided it wouldn't be the carpet but something we did. They did send it to the factory and of course they said, 'nothing wrong with the carpet!!" Terrible wear in traffic area, yard pulling out from the jute and yarn unraveling. I'm sick of getting poor service from these guys. I'm taking back up my fight, called and talked to store manger over a week ago and he was going to check into our account and get back to me!! I'm still waiting without even a courtesy call to let me know whats going on. DONT USE GREAT FLOORS. NO MATTER HOW GOOD OF A DEAL YOU GET IT WONT BE WORTH WHAT YOU THING YOUR SAVING... read more

I can tell you the positive reviews were written by the sales people themselves using fake customer names. The service was the worst ever. The building contractor I was using used this store as a subcontractor, and I was given incorrect prices twice (by a LOT), and phone calls and emails went unanswered. I ended up buying flooring at Lowes and installing it myself, even though I'd already paid the building contractor for flooring. So I paid for my flooring twice. Great Floors really took care of us and helped us finish picking out flooring and tile. Christine helped me bring all my ideas together and helped me choose the right product. The tile installer did fabulous work installing our showers and backsplashes. The tile is truly a work of art. The carpet installer gave me tips on which way to vacuumed and how to take care of the carpets. This was a new build so there was a lot of details to consider and Great Floors really came through for us! read more

I will be soooo glad when we are finished with these people! We have two tiny stall showers to tile and it has taken us 4 months of phone calls, emails, and frustration to try to get the tile finished. Today was supposed to be the day to do the grout and be finished. One shower is finished, except for one piece of tile that had to be reordered because they don't have enough sense to order some extra in the first place. Our installer got a call while he was working on the second shower, and he had to leave! We have a plumber coming on Friday. Do NOT have them install anything but carpet. We will NEVER use this company again and strongly suggest that you don't either! read more

i was just informed "the store manager is declining the labor portion of this proposal, as we only do complete showers", but before doing that, the staff knew i was only asking for tile install and waisted over a month of planning, measurement appt, tile selection and several delays due to unreliable service and communication. i completely regret ever walking into your store and will make every effort to share this experience with anyone even remotely considering a remodel or flooring job. read more

We purchased $17,000.00 of commercial grade LVP and carpet for our business. After appx. 6 weeks the flooring started to warp. We contacted Great Floors and then the next year plus we spent calling, going into the show room to have the guarantee enacted for the floors to be replaced. The manager, Chris, drug this process out for months and months. During this time we developed a buyer for our business. My husband was trying everything he could to expediate the replacement of the floors. When he told the manager we had a buyer and we needed to get the floors replaced a little quicker. Chris stated, "Just sell the business and let them worry about the floors" We were appalled at his statement to us. We continued to call, email and arrive at the show room to get the floors replaced. Chris was in a meeting, out of town, on vacation etc. FINALLY after appx 18 months they approved replacing the floors. It was not the flooring company responsibility it was Great Floors responsibility. Then they didn't call to schedule replacement. Another 3 weeks went by and we went to the showroom AGAIN and Chris states, "Oh I was waiting for you to call me to schedule" UNBELEVIABLE!! Well the floors are replaced!! No thanks to Chris and Great Floors though. They did upgrade us another product thankfully. At this point it was little compensation however. The problem was the sales rep did not order a vapor barrier for the original floors. We didn't know and I specifically asked is there anything else we need. The original installers never said a word to us and they supposedly had installed in a major grocery store chain in our state. Plus nursing homes. We have an adult family home and it has been so stressful because it became a safety issue for our residents. The carpet...well I've given up. Which I'm sure Chris is ecstatic about. The carpet is separating at the seams as in pulling apart. I guess I'm purchasing new carpet again BUT NOT FROM GREAT FLOORS!!! This was the most horrendous customer service I've ever experienced from any business in my life time. If I owned this business the manager would have his walking papers...and I would change the name to Great Junk....I'm so disappointed and I hope this lets thousands of people know in Spokane, WA to go any where but Great Floors for flooring and carpet. The Installation of my engineered flooring was a very poor job. The workman put in little pieces at the end of the job near the doors. These small pieces got loose and came out. He also did NOT leave me any spare planks for future repairs. Big mistake. When I went to Great Floors to ask for advice they said to put in plywood in because that style of flooring no longer exists. BAD ADVICE.. They should have said....steal planks from the closet and replace the closet planks with something similar. They should have know this trick. But now they did not give me good advice! POOR. I found similar engineers flooring at Habitat for Humanity and used it in the closets and used the matching planks to make the repairs. read more

I have carpet and vinyl installed by great floors. Both are the worst jobs I have ever see. The vinyl is glued down improperly so it is making a tacky noise when walked on. The carpet you can see where every seam is. It looks so bad, you would think they were trying to make them show. These were done by 2 different crews. So it wasn't just 1 bad crew. read more

This is a horrible place. Do not do business with them you will be disappointed. We had them to our kitchen and bathroom so we can sell it and they destroyed the house. We had painted to house and did so much to sell it and they destroyed it. They ruined the paint destroyed the floor that we just put in. They chipped the wall, and didn't even finish the floor. Worst customer service!!! Won't go there again. Bought flooring on a Saturday and told didn't have it in stock so would need to get it from one of their warehouses in Seattle and would call me when in. Never received a call and had to call in several times. Then went to pick it up and told "oh, sorry, shipping guy has gone home for the day. You will need to come back tomorrow." Seriously?! I finally get my flooring the after some drama with the salesperson and shipping guy. Once I have finished installing my floor I attempt to return 3 unopened boxes. The sales person at the desk first tells me that the shipping receiving guy is out today, then it is "oh, you need to talk to the person that sold it to you. Only she can give permission to return it. Really?? I told her this was unacceptable so the she tells me it is a special order and they don't do returns on special orders. I inform her that it never was a special order. I leave very upset and email the salesperson who I bought the flooring from. Finally, I am told I can return the flooring. One excuse after another and the customer is treated poorly. What a horrible experience. Won't go there again read more

Recently had Marmoleum installed in our 1912 farmhouse kitchen and mudroom. There was quite a bit of prep work needed along with the installation. From the salesman, Scott North, who loaned me samples and came to our home to measure and quote the job to the installation team led by Jarrod Hoener, the entire job was a pleasure. All the guys involved were very professional and personable and the job quality is excellent. I personally sold and quoted flooring installations and supervised installers for over twenty years, and it would have been a pleasure to be involved with this business and employees. While the carpet itself is nice enough, the install job was terrible. The installer showed up 4 hours late on the first day and only did so because I called to ask if he was still coming. Then, he had to return the next day to complete the project. Once finished, I mentioned that the stairs just had open seams to which I was told that was "normal" to see the underlayment of the carpet. I disagreed, but he left anyway. The next day (and for nearly a week after) my husband called and was transferred to what seemed like everyone in the building. No one returned his phone calls until he finally got through to the Office Manager. They sent the same installer back out and the installer accused me of being the issue because I didn't tell him I wanted it done differently. (I'm not a professional carpet installer?) Both that day and the day he returned to make the changes we requested, he showed up 4-5 hours late and each time I had to call to verify he was still coming. We still aren't completely satisfied with the install job, but wouldn't dare have him or his disrespect back in our home again. We highly recommend going with ANY other company. read more

We recently bought flooring from this store we were looking at laminate to start with and wanted something durable but also kid water proof and our salesman Jonathan then directed us to XL flooring and it was easy enough to install ourselves which was a great help! They had some colors in stock and we ended up finding one we absolutely loved! Jonathan was great from the start was helpful but not pushy! He even showed us the website with this flooring and played their install video for us to show how easy it truly was to install. Thank you for making this process so easy and enjoyable! Is there an option for no stars? We bought flooring there 7 years ago and noticed immediately that it scratched easily. It was defective, we cannot wear shoes inside at all and have marks under every chair. If you drop anything (keys, spoon) it leaves a ding or chip in the floor. We talked to the store, the manufacturer and even had a rep sent out from the manufacturer. He was an ass from the moment he came into our house and already had his mind made up that they weren't going to work with us. They would not stand behind their product. Don't buy from them- apparently they make enough money that satisfied customers aren't a concern. read more

What a fiasco! It took almost three weeks to get a proposal from them. the price went from aprox. $900. to $2,500. to $1,500.. What the hell? After talking to Scott the manager he said "he would make things right". I had an appointment to meet him and he was a no show and had me deal with his assistant who did not "make things right". We missed our deadline to have the flooring installed before having coutertops installed. Very frustrating! There are too many other flooring companies in the area that have much better service and pricing. We have done business with Great Floors a three or four times in the past and even referred friends to them, and this is how they treat loyal customers. WOW! read more

Close to a year into building new home and after multiple estimates and experiences with two local flooring businesses, I ended up walking into the Valley Great Floors looking specifically for Erin C. Fortunately, a friend of mine had just had extensive floor remodeling done and Erin had provided exemplary customer service. She's been in the flooring business for years which benefits the customer due to her knowledge of reputable installers she specifically schedules for her customers. She listened and then directed me to products that worked! Installation went off without a hitch. Shortly after install the cabinet installers damaged my flooring and Erin quickly drew up an invoice to produce to the cabinet company to resolve the issue. Erin became one of a small handful of subcontractors in an entire year who were easy to work with, did what she said she'd do and kept the whole job to a price I could afford. We used Great Floors to re-tile and put new sinks in a bathroom remodel. It was so disappointing. There is no follow through so you have to stay on them. Once they get started they run the show and want no input from home owner or to hear any needs that you have around timeline etc...they put in tile when they knew our fixtures would not work according to the plumber. They went ahead and we almost had a disaster and when it came to try to get the faucets to turn on. A plumber tried to remedy the situation and months later it is still not working correctly. When you have a problem no one will call you back. They only care about getting the tile down. They don't care if the bathroom functions or not. The tile installer and counter installer left a huge mess in our master bedroom where the bathroom is located even though they knew that we were out of town and having an open house the weekend after the install. the realtor had to try to clean it up and had so many comments on the mess. They are fine for product but there is no guarantee on the finished bathroom functioning and absolutely the worst customer service. Your project will cost you so much more and include heart ache if you use this company. read more

We stopped into Great Floors to inquire about new flooring for our home. It was the first store we went to and didn't need to go any further! We were promptly greeted by Melanie and she made us feel more like friends discussing home improvement than a sales person trying to sell us something. She answered all of our questions and helped us pick out the most amazing new flooring! The estimator arrived at our house promptly at the scheduled time and made us feel very comfortable as he was taking measurements. Melanie sent us the quote very quickly and worked with us to make it work for us. She also picked the installer that she thought would work best for our flooring and booked us in for his next available time. Jarrod and his team were top notch! The worked so quickly! They also worked to fit our needs. We were replacing all flooring at once so the first day they worked hard to complete our bedrooms. We were so thankful to save some money and not have to stay in a hotel. We would recommend them to anyone and everyone! read more
