Black's Painting just finished a key element of my kitchen makeover, Cabinet and drawer repainting, and the results are more than I could have hoped for. They sanded down multiple layers (it's a 1940's home), primed and applied 2 coats of high-grade kitchen appropriate paint, completely covering the previous dark blue with my chosen very pale color. The finish is flawless. Most impressive was the effort put into rehanging the doors with the new hardware I had bought that proved to be challenging. Our contract was for them to hang only half of the doors because, to save money, I said I would hang the "easy ones", which I soon discovered were difficult. Not only did they graciously agree to rehang those also, adding hours and extra trips to make them hang precisely, but they refused to charge for it! Who does that? The total time from bid to completion was only 1 week. (Other bids I got were anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months and the costs were higher than Black's.) The mess was minimal because they do the work in their shop and whatever necessary sanding had to be done to tweak my cabinet boxes to accept the new hardware was completely cleaned up. Overall, my experience with Black's was outstanding, I stayed in budget and finally found a company with integrity, skill and honesty. And I have a beautiful kitchen now! They amount of the original estimate was the amount I paid, even though far more work was ultimately (and cheerfully) done. A kitchen makeover can be overwhelming and every decision crucial to the outcome. My cabinets look amazing! read more
