DO NOT BELIEVE THE HATERS! I suspect they have posted fake reviews because they are associated with competitors. They even stooped so low as to get my previous 5 star review removed. But they can't stop my praise for this awesome business :) Now on to the good stuff: This place is amazing! It is by far the best card shop in town. If you want Pokémon or sports cards, look no further. The people here are friendly and knowledgeable, the selection is outstanding, and their prices are the lowest in Denver. The inside is brightly lit, comfortable, spacious, and well-organized. Just visit the store and you will see what I mean. It has a great vibe! My son and I drive 25 minutes and probably pass 7-8 other card stores to go there for all of these reasons. They have earned our loyalty and we are customers for life! Keep up the good work, Hobby Source! read more

Underwhelming shop with unknowledgeable employees and prices that are way above not just MSRP but way above actual market. Clown show.

They offer 50% cash buys. 60% trade. Great store. Great atmosphere and great cards read more

So this place is a joke. The Pokémon cards are way overpriced. A box was $300 and then this guy came out of the back and I noticed he was a scalper I mean, how can kids afford Pokémon cards and what's worse the people who keep the scalpers in business by paying their outrageous prices all the cards were way overpriced their scalper prices while I refuse to keep a scalper in business so our Family just left this is not a family owned business. I'm just trying to buy the cards for my little boy and girl so they can have fun playing on these scalpers are making money off a little children. This is a scalpers business. I find them cheaper online even the scalpers on E Bay are cheaper than this shop so let's talk about the scalper that came behind the counter. He was waiting in target with the folding chair waiting for the business to put Pokémon cards on the shelf, the boxes were $50 but they sell them at the store for $300 really what a joke. This is a dishonest shop. They probably take the expensive cards out and sell them in their shop and then put the chump cards in the packet and reseal them and then sell them to the public because you're really buying something from another store without outrageous prices because they have the equipment to seal up the packages! read more

They had a wide selection of product available, the way it was displayed made the cards approachable. They had a decent amount of bulk to look through as well. read more

Over the last five years I've been collecting and selling cards and accessories from high value cards mostly Magic The Gathering to some sports cards as well. From Thornton and their more popular shops (if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it), to Greely even Sterling. Some of the more well known shops near the Denver metro area and Jefferson County. Covering man of these shops some will take advantage of buy backs by saying they will do a 60% on cards they need, however that never seems to be case as only one shop I know of will keep their percentage the same and have a listing of the Cards their looking for; that's about the one and only thing this shop does ethically. Always up for discovering new shops as my buddy and I have been wanting to open our own much of my merchandise has come from ordering directly at a percentage to the co-owner of our soon to be shop. I discovered The Hobby Source by pure luck. Looked on Google for shops near me and having a place near and around Washington Park The Hobby Source was this small little shop right near Evans and I-25. At that time you couldn't fit more than five people in that shop, but call it Intuition selling to this shop was one of the best moves I could have made for my love of collecting! They moved to their new shop on Broadway and Quincy. Finding this Gem of a shop is one of the best thing I have done with my hobby. From (I don't know if they want their names all over this) the two gentlemen one adept to Sports Cards and Memorabilia and the other who is adept to Pokemon, MTG and both having knowledge in many other not so popular cards games. From the first people you meet going into that store to one of the most down to Earth Owners. Come to think of it I don't think I have ever met one of the owners personally come out and introduce himself. He never did it in a way to brag, but in a sincere and thankful manner that I never experienced before! Everyone associated with The Hobby Source have been AMAZING and if I could leave them 10 star I would. If collecting cards and wanting to start a collection absolutely check out this shop, you will not regret it! read more

Way over price cards and etb boxes. Cards are overpriced and damaged. Don't go not worth the stop.

This place looks nice when you walk in and it reaches a certain targeted audience if you pay attention to the shop. Do your research people and always look around. Their etbs, singles, and any sealed product will always be above if not exactly market price. That's fine-- most shops do anyways. The issue is their singles and the lack of negotiation. They have more than several cards that are way above market price value. You're paying double if you don't catch it and the card at best is lightly played (LP). If you plan on selling, good luck. They won't buy majority of the time and will offer a ridiculous percentage. Are the employees respectful? Sure. read more

Only offers 40% market value. Would not recommend anyone sell cards here, other local shops will offer more. Also prices for sealed are @ market and considering other stores in the area offer MSRP or at least in between MSRP and market there is no logic in buying sealed here unless you were going to buy off TCG player anyway. I will say the single selection for collecting specific cards is good, will only be shopping here for singles read more

Do not waist your time going to this place to sell! Probably the worst customer service experience I have ever had selling cards. The person at the counter couldn't care less that I was there and was condescending and rude. Better off going to Bills Collectables where I know they treat people right. read more

In my travels, I must say this is one of the smaller card shops I've visited. That being said, their inventory on both sealed and singles is surprisingly vast. They were super nice and helpful. My wife and I ended up purchasing more singles then we intended because they had quite a bit of inventory. If you are a Pokemon card collector and in the Denver area, I definitely recommend you check them out. read more

This is one of the greatest card shops I've found in Colorado. Their selection is unbelievable! Fight all you want at Costco and Target for your cards, I'm always comfortably going back to Hobby Source. The pricing here is great and the service is awesome. They definitely know their stuff and can consider me loyal! read more

Horrible customer service. 3 dudes working and They just looked at me damn near the whole time. didn't greet me or anything. And on top of that they are taxing on their products. $88 dollars for prismatic booster bundle and $13 for mega evolution loose pack is crazy. Definitely wouldn't recommend. read more

Awesome card shop! Great selection, fair prices, and super friendly staff. Always a fun place to browse and find something cool, highly recommend! read more

Very busy on a Saturday in a smaller space, but still a ton of collecting options/selection depending on what you are into. I thought the prices were fair, and the person working the store today was kind and helpful. read more

By far the best customer service I have ever experienced in my life. As soon as you walk through the front door you are greated as family and not a customer. I came into the store knowing nothing about collecting or what my trade in was worth. By far the most intriguing and eyecatching layout of products I have seen for the size of the shop. The selection of products that are available for purchase within the first two feet of entering the establishment is astonishing. Steve welcomed me as one of his life long friends as soon as I stepped foot inside the store with my box of cards. I knew nothing of what my trade in was worth. But instantly felt comfortable knowing I wasn't being taken advantage of. The Value of respect and education Steve and Joe provided at the Hobby Source beats any collectibles store in the Denver metro area by far. God's honest truth, dont bother going anywhere else for what you are looking for. The Wizards Chest, Bills collectibles, level 7 games may have more available products but Steve and Joe at "The Hobby Source" (NY accent) provide an experience that literally takes you back in time to a place where no matter where you come from, we are able to find a common ground and build a life long lasting friendship. Make sure to make the Hobby Source your first stop for lifelong collectibles and everlasting memories. read more
