I've been coming in this place for a long, long time. Decades. Going back to when they were in Cherry Creek area. I understand how it's work to keep everything updated on the website. But it's worth it. Now that they do not, I find it interesting that some of the staff there will bitch about Amazon and how it's had a horrible effect on the business. Or seem so impatient on the phone when I called to ask questions about what I used to be able to look up online. What's my option for shopping? I can call down and if they're busy, no one can go look for anything, I can come down and search around, and hopefully they have what I want. Or... If I know exactly what I want, I jump on Amazon, look it up and order it. And let me be clear: I really am not a fan of Amazon. I think they're the devil. I am more than willing to pay more for the convenience of local store stores, and I also like supporting local businesses. Wizard's Chest needs to figure out what it wants to be. I'd suggest bringing back the ability to look up items online, and failing that, make sure all the staff understands positive service for people who call up and ask questions. I'd be more than willing to pay a little more for the convenience of picking it up the same day. read more

Very cute and magical store. It looks like how you would imagine a magic store in a movie to look. They have a really wide variety of things to buy here: costumes, dog costumes, magic tricks, toys, miniature kits, board games, Halloween decor, puzzles, D&D stuff. There is also an escape room in the basement that doubles as a gaming room. If there are any kids (or adults who are kids at heart) in your life, take them here. They will love it! read more

Super fun super stocked Halloween and novelty store in a great location on South Broadway. Highly recommend for the super wide selection and friendly service. Great place to come and browse. HUGE selection of costumes and stage things on top floor. Basement floor was all games and neat game rooms you can use for your game night with friends. Lots of theme decor from all the realms! What a wonderful store! I visit Denver once a year or so, and I wish I had known about this place sooner! Everyone in the store was super helpful. I loved how they had easter eggs set out for the kids to find to get little toys. The cost of some of the costume items were pricey, but happy to support a business like this. As an avid TTRPG player, I've visited many gaming stores and this one is at or near the top of the list. The quantity of games and the variety of genres make this a must in the Denver area. They have a wide assortment of miniatures, paint and supplies, and terrain features for warhammer, D&D, and other TTRPGs. Their minis were maybe slightly overpriced, but thems the times. Everything is more expensive, and I have no problem supporting a rad gaming shop such as this. read more

So my boyfriend and I went to the wizards chest the other day and he bought 6 packs of Pokémon cards for his mom.when we got to his moms house we discovered that the packs of cards were opened and then resealed to make them look unopended. And what was worse was that the packs of 10 cards now had 12 or 13 cards some of the packs duplicates. I mean what's more pathetic then them taking out cards they wanted was they can't count. Toys, costumes, and magic supplies, as well as cosplay wigs, makeup, puppets, and stuffed animals, can be found on the second floor. I especially value the deals I get by purchasing games on the consignment shelfs and consigning my own boardgames that I no longer play. V always provides great customer service and is able to help me find what I need. She also helped me track down where I would be able to purchase online the Herb Witches expansion for the old style Quacks of Quedlinburg game, something that I had been struggling to find for months. The Order of the Wizard program provides some pretty nifty benefits as well. read more

Oh man!!! I really wished that I lived in Denver!! This place was like a adult's inner child's play store! LOL So as you have probably guessed, I am not local. I was just visiting family in Denver and we took a walk down broadway and stumbled upon this gem of a store! It had amazing outfits for your Halloween costume shopping. . .I mean seriously, they had adult sized costumes. . .LOL They had a Jack Skellington costume that was adult sized and I know that if we lived here, that the hubby would've been getting that costume to wear for Halloween. lol Honestly, this was the first adult sized Jack Skellington costume that I have seen and the quality was top notch!! They also had anime type costumes for cosplay. This place would be a hit for Comic Con attendees! The hubby and I were just walking around but we got greeted as soon as we walked in and we got asked multiple times if we needed help with anything. Great service! And as a adult, I can say that my inner child just wanted to stay and ooh and ahh at everything there. This is where I go when I'm feeling the itch to buy a new jigsaw puzzle and want to do it in person rather than online. Decent selection downstairs, lately they've been stocking some more unusual ones featuring art by the likes of Gorey and Mucha. Appreciate that I can support a local business, too. How have I not discovered this magical place sooner? Walking in I felt transported to all things spooky and honestly felt like a kid in a candy store. We were greeted by the fun witch display and cool looking chair, which you could take a picture sitting on. The staff were helpful and always present if you needed them. I wanted to try on some wigs and didn't have a hair piece so one of the sweet staff members gave me one. The main level is where you can find Halloween decorations, party must haves and loads of stuff for costumes. My favorite part was trying on the beautiful wigs and coming across the Harry Potter section. Love this place and the fact that it is accessible for all kinds of people. You can either walk down the stairs or travel down the beautifully muraled ramp. Downstairs is where the fun is at. There's board games, puzzles, movie themed games and so much more. Not to mention, there's a room made special for those who want to play a board game. That was certainly cool in my book. Overall, I don't think you could come here and not find this place awesome. This place is mystical and so cool! I came here to do some last minute Christmas shopping and they had such a great selection of gifts for all. I wish 4.5 stars were a thing, but 4 stars will just have to do. I am a little taken aback at how few reviews this neighborhood staple costume, game, and toy store has! Upon entry you are greeted with a somehow "cozy" superstore feeling of delight! You are surrounded by unique masks, toys, costumes, and general delights on the main floor - and in the basement you can find pretty much any board game you could possibly be looking for. We had already done some serious damage to our wallets at another toy store (see my other reviews) and decided to stop by this place anyway as we were in the area. The prices here are VERY fair, and you will find a lot of items you haven't seen elsewhere. (At least we did!) Why 4 stars? On a table upon entry you are asked to wear a mask (but not required to) and there is hand sanitizer and a bowl of masks on display. It's 2023 - the reason for those items, and the usefulness of those items against the reason for those items, have all been debunked. Let's move on, shall we? Can't wait to bring the kids back and hopefully start a tradition! read more

This is a very unique store! All kinds of games, puzzles, some stuffed animals, etc. They have lots of other items as well but I knew what I was looking for before I arrived and was directed very quickly to it by the staff. There is very limited parking but despite having only put a few coins in the parking meter I had plenty of time to look around and find an unexpected 2nd purchase.
