Initially when we looked we didn't see anything and Tanner who helped me said he would special order a pair for me. Gott A Costume is always a better option for costumes and accessories. Quality product in their rental outfits. The purchase options are the traditional packaged sets by Leg Avenue, Underwraps etc and are comparable to what can be bought online. Large selection! Their website is not user friendly. It's hard to do a search because there is no filter option. Just browe thru pages upon pages of costumes for adults, kids, women, men, anime and conference. I would suggest that their web developer redesign their site to make it more robust. Especially when they offer online shopping as an alternative to visiting their store. Which brings me to my visit.... On MONDAY, 24 January, I went to go check out the selection in person. The neon sign beckoned me....it was flashing OPEN. But they weren't. The door was locked and a handwritten note that they couldn't help in the store but call them and they will work with (me) via phone. So I called. Twice. No one answered. Straight to voicemail I went. So I gave up. No warning on the website. (Sad face) So my suggestion....CALL BEFORE YOU VISIT. If only to make sure the store is open and that staff is available. This was some what disappointing because we are down to the wire to figuring out 5 different outfits for our upcoming cruise (the cruise line only just announced the theme nights with less than 14days presailing notice). With that...we had to go to another costume shop on the other side of town. (Sad face again). Next time a costume is needed, I will still go to Gott A Costume but will call to ensure they are open to help. read more

This is a great little place! Service is good and they have different selections of costume. Lots of accessories too. They're open year round so you can get outfits for plays or parties. Prices are more than chain stores but they're a local business so we should support them. Parking in a shared lot. read more

I was a little skeptical about this shop but it exceeded all my expectations. It's a LOT bigger than it looks on the outside. Instead of it being just a speciality shop, they also have the popular kids costumes you find at the giant temporary Halloween stores. Lots of makeup and accessories and tons of options. This is the best costume shop around!! Plus it's open year around. They also have the option to rent costumes if you aren't ready for a larger investment. Definitely check them out. read more

Fun little shop of horrors. I've found some really neat vintage, treasures and junky stuff you can only use for a few hours of fun. They have lots of fake weapons, boots, dresses, clowns and offer costume rentals for reasonable prices. Honestly you can spend hours finding what you want. Before leaving the place double check if everything is in it's package. Some people aren't honest after putting something on and take things out. It's a private business and they run on honesty. Cons: They have strange hours and might not be around if you need to return something, so call ahead and let them know you're on your way. read more

So rude! They have boots from their rental dept for sale every year, I found a pair I wanted and asked how much... Fine with it but I tried to barter because they are used and the guy who I know is part owner tells me he Doesnt have any authority and can't do anything for me. So I agree to buy it but am a couple dollars short. He says ok but I guess I wasn't thrilled enough about it and had a wtf look on my face because he said he was "helping me out" and then told me never mind, basically asking me to beg him for them "I don't HAVE to sell you these, do you want them or not?" To which I reply... "I didn't SAY anything, here's the money, do you want it?" Outta here with that. I have shopped here every year and sang their praises to my friends but no more. Since I live so close And don't work , I may sit outside and direct people to some other place. Next time try some customer service. read more

I was there just over a week before Halloween because I was looking for something to wear to Denver Open Media's Halloween party, and didn't want to be the only one not dressing up. I hadn't really dressed up for Halloween in years, so I didn't really have an idea of what I was looking for other than it had to not be too skimpy, and preferably something that didn't require a strapless bra/adhesive bra. It looks like a small store from the outside, but it's packed wall to wall with a variety of costumes for everyone, from children to adults. There are also accessories like plastic weaponry, leggings, wigs, fake teeth, hats, and masks. They even rent some of their costumes and allow you to try costumes on--you just have to let them know. It is located in the area that includes the Golden Phoenix Chinese restaurant, Attactix, a doughnut shop, a 7-11, and a pet grooming shop. read more

I rented a costume from Gott A costume after being at an event with their rented actors. I went in on 8/31/15 and tried on a costume for a 9/2/15 event. The owner said she would clean and repair the costume for me to pick up the next day. I went in and picked it up, no problem. When I went to put it on the next morning--it didn't fit! I was given the wrong (size) costume and couldn't use it for my event. (Not good. Not happy.) Turns out it was placed back in the rack with all the costumes while they waited for me to pick it up. You'd think that if it'd been cleaned and mended, you might have it waiting up front--with the accessories I was promised but had to ask about and wait for. Anyway... I returned it the following day and luckily the owner was there and she refunded my money. {Hence the second star.} All was well until two weeks ago when I received a call asking when I was going to return the costume and that if I didn't return it, I'd be charged the full price of it. Ummmmm... I called back and said they had already received it. 'Makes me question their bookkeeping. Also, and it's worth it to note: my first impression wasn't great. The place stinks and was an absolute mess. Yes, their selection of costumes and accessories is phenomenal, but it felt dirty, musty, and old. An absolutely WONDERFUL store. The staff is so very helpful. Every time I visit, I'm given the undivided attention from the staff, who listen to what I am looking for, and due to their knowledge of the inventory they almost always find something perfect for me. They will even make little repairs or alterations. Once I bought a feather duster as a prop for my maid outfit, the girl working glued on this pretty lace. I'd seen it the day before, and after searching online and in other stores who only had ugly, tacky things, I returned to Gott A Costume to purchase the only cute father duster available. Their signs say "support a family owned business," but to justify supporting a family owned business you need excellence in service, selection, price - or some combination thereof. We are leaving this review based on our experience with renting an actor from Got a Costume. I've never actually visited the store.We just had our sons 4th birthday today and hired Dominic to come as Optimus Prime. He did a FANTASTIC job. The kids were enthralled and ecstatic. He arrived in costume, put on an awesome training camp, let the kids throw him around in the grass, he made sure everyone had a turn and he made the birthday boy feel special. He even stayed to sing happy birthday and made sure all the moms got plenty of pictures. We would hire him again for sure! read more

I tried numerous times to contact them about hiring a character for my son's birthday coming up. Finally the kid there said to call him on Sat & he would have a yes or no answer for me. Left a vm Sat & Sun. He answered today, (Mon) & he told me he hasn't called me back because he didn't have an answer. Just call me & let me know that so I can make other arrangements when the party is about a week & 1/2 away. He proceeded to tell me that he's up to his head in Halloween stuff going on- that's not my problem & they should state on their website, "characters for birthdays except around Halloween." I was not rude in talking to him, but told him a call would have been nice to let me know they're still working on it. He finally yelled, "the answer is NO!" & hung up on me. I would like to start out by saying this company goes above and beyond for there customers. And don't disappoint I live out of town and my great nephew was having a birthday day party, well the venue got changed at the last minute!!!! The company who I pre arranged with said sorry your S,O,L, lady we can't do it !!! I then called every rent an actor place in Denver with no luck. then I decided to just try to rent the costume and find some one to play the guy, well no one had that costume either, it was a transformers party and the whole thing was based around that. Well GOTT A COSTUME was the last place I called and not only did they answer the phone after hrs. But had the actor I wanted and after all day of already booked party's they fit me in. The actor showed up and was so awesome he was so good with the kids, this is the best place to get costumes, and actors they really care about the customers needs and really go above and beyond, it is with great gratitude I write this review I highly, highly highly would recommend them to every one who has any event. My 62 year old father rented a Zorro costume from them recently for a Halloween party and then returned it on Halloween even though it was not due back until November 3rd because the party he needed it for was before Halloween. It was returned to an older woman who gave him a receipt. She also took pictures of the costume to document that all parts were returned. Originally we thought there were no problems and were happy with the rental until we got a call the next day from a young man asking when we were going to return the costume. My father called back and explained it had been returned and the man apologized and thanked him. Fast forward to November 7th and the owner left a message on our machine berating him telling him he needs to "do the right thing" and return the costume because it wasn't really returned. This makes me severely question their bookkeeping and even IF the costume was not returned that is NO way to talk to a customer. I have been there many times in the past but will no longer be taking my business there. We will be going in tomorrow with the original receipt. read more

We attended a birthday party with a rented carrier this spring and Batman was very rough with the toddler crowd and used inappropriate language when the cape of his costume wouldn't stay on. His pants kept falling down, which was totally unprofessional. With young kids, they sometimes have a hard time forming a line and Batman seemed really impatient with them. I would expect more from a performer/character whose target audience is young children. Ultimately the parents escorted him out of the party well before their rented time was used. I hope this company takes the time to review feedback and makes the appropriate changes with their staff. It's a great idea and the kids get really excited about this kind of party, but ultimately, it's the parents you have to please to succeed. read more

Worst costume store ever do not come here unless you want to buy holy stuff only to be told they don't offer refunds. I purchased a cape for my little red riding costume that came with holes along with leggings that could fit a 300 pound whale and a corset that had stains all over it. When I went back the NEXT day after trying my costume on at home and realizing they sold me damaged goods. The lady that was working was EXTREMELY rude. I asked why the owner would have a problem taking a refund on damaged goods THEY sold me. She told me that if the owner was there that the owner would have been more rude to me?! What!? Who says that so unprofessional! So when I told her how unprofessional it was to say something like that she proceeded to tell me to get the fuck out!!! What!? Again how unprofessional a simple call to the owner/manager could have solved this issue or even maybe just being nice! Instead I was treated like dirt the paying customer who purchased over a $100 worth of stuff and you wouldn't refund me $50 of damaged goods? Hmm looks like neither me or my family or anyone I know will ever shop here! If anyone asks where I got my costume I'm going to tell the spirit Halloween or party city because I would never want someone to go through what I did here. I have a family and bills to pay now I'm simply "out" the money or forced to purchase something at the same store that sold me damaged stuff with a "store credit". They have a very poor selection at both of their locations. So sad that a small store will be losing business over a very rude employee who seemed to tired to be working anyway... maybe next time you should take the day off instead of taking your anger out on a paying customer. read more

This review is in regards to the rent an actor part of the business. My son had a transformers birthday party and desperately wanted a transformer at his party. I could only find two places that offered one and the other company had even worse reviews than this one. Against my better judgement, I booked an optimus prime character for his party and my credit card was charged a deposit. I spoke with the actor named Tanner (who owns this company as well) two days before his party and thought everything was set. On the day of the party, he didn't show up. After about 20 minutes past when he was supposed to show up, I tried calling and texting him to ask what was going on. I received a response that he was in an accident and he had to stay for the police but would refund his money. I sent him a text to ask if he was going to be late or not make it at all. I never heard from him after that. Two days later he sent me a text saying he had dropped his phone that same day and he would refund my money. He also said he wanted to surprise my son in the optimus prime costume. I asked if a certain would work for him to surprise him and he said that he would get an actor to do it. A few days went by without my refund showing up so I asked him 3 or 4xs what was going on. It's been three weeks now...no refund and nothing about surprising my son to try to make it up for the birthday party. I am working with my bank to dispute the charges now. Never again will I rent anything here. Please beware! read more
