I came into Michael's to get stuff for my daughters graduation cap. I was able to find everything on my own very easily, although associates did ask me if I needed help which was nice. When I was checking out, I was chatting with Peggy and she was so helpful. She helped me apply a coupon and find something that I was looking for but we also had great conversation. Self-service check out in this zoom world that we live in stops us from having genuine human connections which I feel are important. I worked 12 hours and then I spent a lot of money on stickers, but it was really nice to stop and have a human moment with Peggy. All of the stress that I had today is gone because we just had a lovely chat. I really hope this goes into consideration when it's time to look at compensation and raises because Peggy deserves the world. I recently had nine very special prints framed here, and have high praise for this store, both for excellent customer service and quality of framing. The folks in the framing dept. are very knowledgeable and made several creative suggestions for frame & mats that really augmented the prints nicely. The people who helped me were Chris, Sierra, and Oliver. They were all very professional, creative, and above all - patient with me as I must have spent easily over an hour playing with frame and mat combinations. read more

I visited this store (#1189) in Sheridan, CO today. It was my plan to see if I could get some Christmas items to gather up for next season. I was greeted by a very helpful and friendly store manager named Trevor. He was busy packing up boxes. I explained that my Mama lives in an Assisted Living facility and that I like to donate what I can to their Activities Department. I was tickled to death to see the great assortment of decorations available and began to make my plan. Trevor, sensing my obvious level of overwhelming ideas, offered to bring boxes that I could fill with what I wanted. He also told me about wreaths and boxes of ribbon. Long story kinda short, we filled my van to the top with items I can donate!! (And some I can keep as well!) on top of it all, he gave me a very generous discount that humbled me to my bones. I just can't say enough about how happy this will make so many people! This isn't necessarily my "home" store, but you can bet it is now!! Coming here is like any other Michaels, you are pretty much on your own and can hunt for the arts and crafts supplies you need or can discover new things for your ideas and projects. Clean and always organized. 4 stars, though, because I arrived looking for large decal stickers to cover up my laptop and protect it. They didn't have wall decals online so I came in to look of possibly large stickers. I asked the staff member who was stocking if they had vinyl decals, she said Nope, not at all sorry. I believe in not taking the first no you hear so I just looked in the next aisle, there they were. Large permanent, indoor, outdoor and removable vinyl adhesive decals in every color and price option you can think of.... ..... . . . ...... Staff shouldn't discourage people, or at least try. What a perfect addition to this shopping center! I'm here about once a week anyway, and am very glad to have a craft store that is finally convenient. I stopped in for the first time a couple days after Christmas, and the vast majority of the holiday stuff had already been picked over. Still, I found a few nice things at great discounts (70-80% off). Michael's also has a few aisles dedicated to cooking and candy making - woohoo! I thought I was going to have to get my LuAnn's oils on Amazon, but nope! Michael's had at least 10 flavors. I was offered assistance by a staff member when I couldn't find what I needed right away, and there was no line when checking out. The kid who checked me out was also as pleasant as he could be. Brand new as of just a few months ago, this store is big, clean, and fully stocked. It is located adjacent to Target where the pop-up Halloween shop used to be. It's actually a little claustrophobic inside, because all the shelves are very high and the aisles are very narrow. When I came in on a Sunday afternoon for a quick in-and-out trip (I only needed one thing), it was super crowded and it took me a while to find what I needed. The aisles aren't particularly well labeled and it's hard to see very far because the shelves are so high. I had to go up and down each aisle, tripping over the other customers all the while, to find what I needed. The check out situation is convoluted and kind of a pain. All the registers are located in two rows right by the exit, so you can't get out of the store without passing by the cashiers. I understand that this is a measure to combat shrinkage from shoplifting, but it's uncomfortably crowded and inefficient. They only had three people cashiering (I think there were eight registers in all), even though it was incredibly busy and the line stretched almost halfway to the back of the store. It probably took me twenty minutes to purchase my one item. On top of that, the one product I bought didn't work. So we'll see how much of a pain it will be to exchange it for another one later on. read more

The employees of this store are either friendly or efficient. I've never had a bad experience. The manager, Cris, is the epitome of customer service. The weekly came out with a special discount on lanterns. He called three locations for me, put the product on hold and when I told him I didn't want to drive around, he discounted a similar product in the store. All while he was doing this, he was very friendly and helpful. Not once did he ever make me feel uncomfortable. This is the best location in and around the Littleton area. Took 20 minutes of searching and waiting to find someone to assist with locating an item. One cashier with a line 5+ deep - I felt so bad for her as she 3 times pages for assistance without anyone coming up - she was clearly exhausted. Eventually a store manager strolled up briefly to help her with a transaction then wandered off putting earbuds in as he walked away without acknowledging or talking with any customers. read more

I hate the coupon culture at Michaels. Everything is overpriced because they have constantly revolving coupon promotions which for some reason are more complicated than they need to be. 50% off this, 20% off your entire purchase but excluding certain items, 25% off but only between the hours of 1 and 3. It goes on and on. I did like to come in here though because all of the craft supplies would inspire me but the coupon drama has worn me out and I decided I'm better off buying supplies online. The final straw was when their in store price differed from the website and one of the employees basically just looked at me and shrugged without offering to match the price. I should note though that normally the employees are friendly and helpful. read more

I think Michael's is awesome Every store, but one replenishment manager from the river point store in Sheridan.. She is horrible at her job, Has all the employees do HER JOB for her then takes credit, while the real employees do the job she walks around criticizing them making a bad work environment.. I know this for a fact because I shop there alot, and see it with my own eyes.. She needs to be put under investigation, and be caught in her act.. Oh yeah she works mornings. I'm a steady customer with good reason -- every single person in this Michael's goes out of his or her way to help you find something, figure something out, answer questions, or give you a hint on how to. What a friendly and helpful staff and Bri is an outstanding manager -- customers are first in everything. Check the internet for coupons -- they're spectacular; whatever your artistic bent the store has good quality, reasonably priced items and an incredible variety in every category.
