Teacher supply paradise! Feels like I walked into a Pinterest store where every possible teaching material you need will be right there waiting for you. Its good when you have their IN-HOUSE Coupons. Yes its some sort of Parents Paradise for having such place for kids, aka toys for kids and learning tools for kids. As an adult, and as a person who underwent Pre-School Teaching Curriculum, some items can get pricey. From my observation, Yes most of the Items are made under the "Lakeshore" Brand. Is this good or is this bad? Perhaps I should shop around and see how things might differ. But it would be nice if they expand their store to other counties in Denver Metro area. Lakeshore is a corporate teacher's/educational store and does have quite a few wonderful things for teachers! I could definitely spend a lot of time and money in here! I usually enjoy shopping through the catalog, but I needed something quickly, so I was glad I live so close to the store. (so the third star is because they had what I needed in a time crunch) However, my most recent visit left little to be desired. When I walked in, I was not greeted, but the person who walked in behind me was greeted, asked what she needed, and brought to the area where her product was found. I continued browsing, watching as this worker did not make eye contact with me at all, but greeted everyone else who walked through the door. While I don't like having salespeople constantly ask me if I need help, it would have been nice to have been noticed, and asked if I was looking for something in particular. As another saleswoman was ringing me up, I explained what happened, and at first, she said "oh, she helps everyone! She is so great!" I couldn't believe it...it was like she didn't even hear what was being said. I repeated that I was IGNORED, and then she apologized. There were also several parents there were small children who were yelling in the store. While it may be a Learning store, and many educators do shop there, it is not a playground. The yelling and running around made it frustrating to look at the different products and make choices for my classroom. As a teacher entering my nineteenth year of teaching, I wish there was an independent teacher's store close by that I could patronize. It was very disheartening to visit Lakeshore this afternoon. read more

Always a fun store to go to. The cashiers are always super friendly. I do have a very bad addiction with coming here! It's nice to have a place to get educational toys that I can work with my daughter and students on. read more

I could (and probably will) spend a lot of time and money in this place! I found everything I needed to start up the school year next week: name tags, border, calendars, posters. Everything is so well organized, which I think is hard to come by when you have stacks and stacks of paper cut outs to choose from. I didn't find a specific type of calendar that I was looking for, but it's no biggie. I did, however, find lots of things that I was NOT looking for, which is inevitable. They have educational games and books that would be good for anyone with kids, not just teachers. I'm glad that there's a place like this in the area. read more

Associates are forced to be up in your face even if you're on the phone or obviously doing something, and if you do ask for something they're constantly trying to up sell you, and will always show you the most expensive item first, they're not sensitive to the customers financial situation what so ever. Also the prices are absolute robbery, it disgusts me that they can up-sell and rip off people who just want to give children a good education. pretty much everything in this store can be found elsewhere for cheeper, it may not have that "Lakeshore" label on it, but I don't know why you would want that considering this company is evil. The ONLY reason I would ever shop here is if I were a teacher in a jam to get something really fast and didn't have time to buy online, as a parent steer clear of this place unless you want to empty your pockets. read more

I am a mom, not a teacher, and I'm trying to do right by my little boy who recently turned 3. This store has all kinds of useful stuff for a family in our situation. Art supplies in our household don't get run through terribly quickly, but when I do need new tempera paint or paper to paint on, I spring the extra money and buy that stuff here. Another group of things I sought here were puzzles. I found a decent mix for the 2 yr old set with a few unique and well-executed puzzles in the mixture of Melissa & Doug mediocrity. I did *not* find reasonably priced, cardboard jigsaw puzzles for the preschool set. 24/48/63 piece puzzles seem like they should run rampant at a store like this, but they're few, and they're pricey. After today's visit to LLS, I went to Target and struck out and finally to Walgreens where I found what I was looking for. Disappointing if understandable, I guess. I went looking for stuff for my emergent reader/writer/math kid and every time I pulled something from the shelf, eight items stacked behind also fell down (boo!) so there I am performing clean up on aisle 7. But seriously, almost all of the sight words toys/activities are just sort of not special/unique enough that you couldn't easily replicate them at home. Even though I am willing to lay out cash to have a product produced and assembled for me, the prices they ask here always strike me as roughly 50% more than is reasonable. And that's even taking into account that I am an easy mark and an happy to be overcharged slightly for things I like. The point comes when you have to say "enough" and head out the door. So although price for what you get is a rubbing point, let's move on to talk about customer service. This is one of those stores where they greet you on your arrival and ask if you need help, this while you're busy taking off your sunglasses and getting yourself oriented. Then they greet you again 4 minutes later (always friendly) and then four minutes later the other guy takes his turn, "can i help you find anything", and eventually it because exhausting. Just stay out of my grill. If I want your help, I will seek you out - you are the only other person in the store. And then at check-out, they're constantly trying to up-sell you and/or sign you up for the various Special Customer programs that just make me mad. Bottom line: I will continue to shop here but always extremely uncomfortably. They're up in your business WAY WAY too much and there's no appreciation that some people want to shop anonymously. And the fella who's always there with the blondish hair and the glasses takes Annoying Salesperson to a whole new level. TAKE IT DOWN A NOTCH, FRIEND. read more

I love this store! The employees are always helpful and most of them are teachers in the area so they have great suggestions for my kids. I really like how friendly they are with my kids and that I don't have to constantly worry about them touching things. They have open play areas and will open anything in the store for you to try out/see before you buy. The store is set up in categories so it is easy to navigate, and the sections have developmental milestones (phonics, letter recognition etc) labeled on some shelves so you know where to find what is appropriate/works for your child's needs. I also love to use their lamination machine. It is cheap at .39 a foot, and I use it to keep my son's projects protected. I really enjoy their free crafts for kids on Saturdays. It is nice to get the kids out to do something free and we always have a great time. read more

I love how convenient lakeshore learning is, and they have great teacher resources. However last time I was in I was laminating items for my classroom. I told the manager who was checking me out what the meter on the machine had said, and he questioned me. Like I would lie about how much I laminated? He proceeded to roll out all of my laminated and measure it to realize I had not lied. It was very rude and I felt like he couldn't take my word for it. Needless to say if you can't trust you customers maybe you should have someone standing at the machine or a print out. I won't be visiting for quite some time. read more

I am often times an errand runner for my teacher wife. The staff here does a great job helping me find all the things I need. And most importantly, when I need to laminate something there, they essentially do it for me which is beyond helpful. read more

I go to this store a few times a year for gift ideas for my kids. It is a very educational store - all of the toys, etc. However, it is VERY expensive. I usually write down the toys that I am interested in purchasing, and then buy them elsewhere (usually online). Great ideas for different toys. read more
