Do NOT believe them...highly disappointed I had an order over $125 that was supposed to be ready by 12... went to pick up and they hadn't even begun to blow up the balloons! Fortunately had time before party to wait an hour while they blew them up! Then they had no balloon bags to help separate and transport 5 clusters of balloons!! When I spoke to manager to complain she gave me excuses... new to balloons, short staffed, balloon bags are expensive and can't provide etc If this is the case they need to stop promoting they are a balloon GO TO!!! read more

Michael's has absolutely awesome sales. I have decided to take up painting. While I lack actual talent, I do have a good eye for color. And I'm just painting for myself. No one would buy them, lol. So I was delighted that Michael's had both oil paints AND canvas on sale! Woohoo! Michael's has a vast selection. Paints and canvases are categorized by levels, basically beginner to professional. They also have a great selection of palettes, from cheap plastic to wood. I didn't see floppy hats or smocks, though. They have massive amounts of home decor, faux flowers, jewelry fittings and stones, and basically anything for crafting. Prices are good. Sale prices are great. Gallery (open back) frames are a bit pricey, even on clearance, but it's not difficult to make them with a miter box, saw, and chair railing. Michael's sells offset clips. Everyone I asked for help was helpful and responsive. They knew where to find things. I asked about the offset clips, and an associate didn't know what they were. But she looked on her phone, and directed me to the correct aisle. I am now equipped to make colorful messes on canvas and frame them. read more

I've been a huuuuge supporter, member, lover of Michaels; whatever you want to call it, for years. Michaels was one of my favorite arts and craft chain store then and now. However, I have started supporting more online arts and craft stores over the years; due to a lot of personal reasons. One important reason is the dissatisfaction I've felt at this location for a while now. Their inventory is terribly understocked, possibly before the shortages we've seen this year. The customer service is also 50/50 at this location. I can't seem to find any help whenever is needed; the only customer service is at the checkout process! Their scrapbooking aisles are possibly the only aisle, I look forward to browsing... but where are all their cardstock selections? They used to have a big boom of many varieties of card stocks. I've recently seen a minimal selection of generic patterns; nothing that takes my breath away. I really enjoy a unique selection and haven't noticed any as of late, so online shopping has opened up that possibility for me. There was hardly any fabric; yes. I originally visited Joann's Arts & Craft Store and they were so happen to be closed that day. I have visited this location and they had NONE. It was a nightmare! Michaels was able to fulfill wants for ribbons, Happy Planner Stickers and some holiday décor always being on sale. I just hope my relationship with Michaels, will improve soon enough. read more

I went to this location to return a few items I bought and no longer needed. There was an issue with one of the registers and we went to another one. The two associates were having difficulty finding the item in their computer. Cathy was very helpful and was able to figure it out. read more

I hate self checkouts!!! What happened to in-person customer service?? Long lines at these stores too and the shelves are half stocked. You can't find a human either if you have a question. You're driving people to shop at Amazon or elsewhere. Try staffing your store properly and taking pride in the condition of the store. If you can't find staff, maybe pay them more. I have to admit, if I really need crafty stuff I am drawn more to Hobby Lobby than Michaels mainly because the latter are generally smaller, jammed with merchandise and quite frankly overpriced. Still, the benefit of Michaels is they are EVERYWHERE, so they get my business for that fact alone. I do find that if you wait for their sales then you can get some reasonably priced merchandise, but sometimes you just can't wait for the sale! This one is across from Park Meadows in a strip mall and is smaller than many, but is packed to the gills with merchandise. So if you are in the burbs and feel the need to be crafty, this place is a-ok! read more

I get it, COVID and Christmas time, not the perfect timing combination for a retail store to deliver exemplary customer service. But still. Their custom framing department. I go at 6:30PM after work the week before Christmas, ring the bell 3 times over the course of 15 minutes, no one comes to help. So I am literally in the store and I call on my cell phone, someone answers and says that they are short staffed today and the person left at 6:00. No sign, no nothing. No one comes to help. Most important, no "I'm sorry." Come back the next day, all is good, place my order. It may be ready by the 24th, depends on variables of course. I understand, but they promise to call me when it is done. So, now it is today, 12/28, after Christmas, and I call to see if it is done. Yes, it sure is! Boy, I wish someone called me like they said they would. Customer service these days is tremendously lacking. Just do your job. read more

This store location has been pretty consistently awful since I moved to town. None of the aisles are labeled correctly. Customer service should be a standard that is upheld by all employees, but unfortunately, it's a dice roll every time I walk in. I usually enjoy my experiences in craft stores, but the past few times going here have been extremely stressful. I understand having a shortage of employees, but when the line of customers stretches all the way back to the t-shirt aisle (likely mislabeled), maybe we can open another register to help out the sole cashier? I am not a crafty person, at all. But when I need anything that resembles craftiness then I head here. I like this store because it's small, and contrary to some other reviews I don't feel like this store is too cramped. I usually come here for Christmas decorations, as the closer you get to Christmas they already start marking things down. They also have a great section of stocking stuffer items for the kids. I've never had to really ask for help finding things, but staff does seem to be around if you need them. read more

The store is well organized and tidy, and for the most part, things are easy to find, but when you need something very specific, there never seems to be any one working there that you can ask. Worst experience and customer service by Theresa. I am not sure if she manages the store, she shouldn't. Simple return lasted over 40 minutes, the new cashier kept requesting her assistance. Not once did she acknowledge me or apologize to me, she had no issues apologizing to another customer for waiting that was her same race. I don't like using the race card, she brought this upon herself. She kept leaving the register, the third time she returned I asked her if she could stay and finalize the transaction, she replied that she had to bring carts in... wtf!!! The young lady needs her to override my return which let me point out that I had my receipts, initially it asked for my ID and I asked why, she said that if it the machines prompts for it, never has it prompt for my ID. If she would have taken the time to train the young lady which it's her position to do, the transaction would have gone smoothest. I will never shop this location again, it's the worst experience I've ever had at a Michael's store and I've been to plenty. Again, I'm not really a crafty person. Michael's is not the first place I think of going, but for certain things they are the best. As long as you have a coupon :) They will periodically have 40% coupons and if they don't have one now just wait a week or two and they'll have another one. Things are normally pricey here but with the coupon it's almost palatable. read more

Was just here and there were tons of customers walking around but no employees at all. The only employee we found in about 20 minutes, total visit time in the store, was one person at the register. We couldn't find certain items so we left and will probably go to Hobby Lobby for these items instead. This store should definitely have at least two stockers who can answer some questions at least. read more

What a disappointing experience. Michaels says they honor competitors coupons... not true. I came in with multiple coupons from JoAnn Fabrics and was told that they could only use one of them to save me $2. They would not honor any of the others and would not match my 15% teacher discount that I receive at JoAnns. The manager as well as the sales person I worked with were incredibly rude, unfriendly, and refused to help me out or be flexible. I ended up returning all of my purchases and going to JoAnns where I was had a great experience. I actually was able to buy all of the same items at JoAnns for $35 less! I believe the atmosphere of a store is dictated by the employees. At this location, the staff is nothing but helpful! I used new technology (an e-gift card) to pay for a balance due and they were having trouble applying the credit. The manager took it upon himself to call customer service on my behalf to activate my e-card. They were apologetic for the hassle and the wait.
