What a delightful find!! I am so glad that we found this place and stopped on our drive home. It is super cute inside, and everything is bee themed and cozy and neat. I loved seeing all of the people sitting in here enjoying the coffee and food and conversation. We loved the bumblebee butt (as other reviews have suggested) and the sweet potato frittata was the best ever. The drip coffee was also yummy. Our group also liked the Oreo cake ball and the lemon scone. We plan to make this a regular place to stop on our drive on this route! read more

We were camping at the nearby Caddo Lake State Park and decided to let someone else make us breakfast one morning. Short ten minute drive from the park is this adorable little town that happens to be the Bigfoot Capital of Texas. The barista at The Hive was very helpful and the regulars friendly. Happy to have a veggie option for breakfast and a delicious latte before heading back to camp. read more

Today was our first visit to Jefferson and The Hive got such great reviews that we stopped in for lunch. The place is pretty and inviting and the owner was so friendly and welcoming. We had the grilled cheese and turkey provolone, both were delicious. On recommendation of the owner we shared a cinnamon roll which was so good. Both drinks were also wonderful. We can highly recommend The Hive and can't wait to return. read more

Oh my goodness. They did it again. Shrimp scampi, spinach salad and garlic bread. Topped off with a delicious angel food cake, strawberries and fresh made whipped cream. This is how a coffee shop shows off its mad food skills of all types. Coffee. Check. Breakfast. Check. Dinner. Absolute check. So cute! Such a cool vibe and so friendly! Coffee is amazing. I HD the Bumble Bee Butt. So yummy! Honey and lavender latte with bee pollen on top. Hubs had a French press. He said it was smooth and low acidity with a great robust flavor. Will be back EVERY time we visit Jefferson FOR SURE!!! And not just because they appear to be the only game in town. This place is a must stop!! Came back for lunch. Yum!!! I had the combo and got the spinach salad and chicken salad. The balsamic is to die for!!! Loved it! Hubs did the combo with the ham and cheese sandwich and chicken soup. He raved about both! Loved the spicy pickles on the sandwich and the pepper in the soup. Fruit salad was exceptional, too. Worth the short walk from the main down town area, the Hive is _NOT_ to bee missed!! ;-) We're in town for March Miata Madness and already had our eyes on this little local spot but happened to bump into the parents of the owner, Kristi, who were also in town for the Miata event, so there's no way we're not going to bee here! From the moment you lay eyes on this house-turned-coffee-home you're going to smile. You'll meet B-Rex on the front lawn, have a chance to sign the guest book, Kristi will make sure your order is well taken care of, and you can then wander thru the rooms to find the place you want to bee. The front room is just buzzing with strangers becoming friends as we share coffee and stories and live in this moment together. Ordered our usual: decaf flat white with heavy cream. Not on the menu, but Kristi was confident she could still make it happen. And she did! Ratios are right, no foam, SUPER hot, and the kind of velvety deliciousness we've come to enjoy. Hubs prefers his with a slightly stronger bite of coffee flavor, but this sits just right for me. Big selection of breakfast and lunch items (we'll bee back for lunch!) and the pastries look utterly devine. If Gerry and Kathy (mom and dad) are hanging out, you're sure to meet the Welcoming Committee. They are genuinely proud of what their daughter has built and have every right to bee. Cute little place but SLOW as Christmas! Ordered a cold brew a water and 2 scones. Got the water, 20 min later got the cold brew, still waiting on the scones which i can clearly see in the case sitting there. 45 min here and just got them. They do taste good- so thats a bonus. read more

Such a great place to enjoy some really great food! We had lunch and then purchased a few scones, cookies, and cake pops to enjoy later. All delicious! Big plus is they bake their own bread for their sandwiches...I would've purchased a dozen loaves if they were available! Very attentive staff and I loved how they hung all their regular's coffee mugs on the wall. Pretty dang adorable! It gave the Cheers vibe. read more

The Hive was the perfect morning spot for my friend and I. It was super close to our Airbnb, we loved the guacamole toast with roasted tomatoes, my coffee was really good, and my friend loved her Frappuccino they made for her every morning. I had the turkey and provolone. The sandwich was delicious. The chips were just plain potato chips. My wife had the half turkey and provolone (minus the provolone) and a fall spinach salad. She also ordered a mixed berry spritzer, and a glass of water. The young lady behind the counter was exceptionally helpful. She answered several questions my wife had related to what menu items had dairy. The atmosphere was nice. It's an old house that has been converted to a restaurant/sandwich shop. When our food was brought out, the requested glass of water was missing. She again asked for a glass of ice water, which wasn't brought. Ultimately, she had to go back to the register and ask for it a third time. Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience. read more

The Hive is amazing! I was in town to visit family and stopped by on two different days for breakfast. Between myself, my husband, and in-town family members I have sampled tea, the yogurt w/berries and granola, avocado toast, scones, king cake, and cake balls. Everything I ate tasted incredible, and my husband called the hot chocolate the best one of his life. The owner is friendly and welcoming, and just about everything is made in house (even the yogurt!). Definitely stop by if you have the chance. read more

While hubby, I and friends were camping not far from Jefferson, we took a trip into town. Being the coffee lover/addict that I am, I stopped at the cutest coffee shop...The Hive! The best coffee I've had in a long time. The staff were so welcoming. There wasn't a spot the owner didn't miss with her bee theme. I had a scone and it was heaven to my taste buds. I love delicious food and excellent coffee. For years I dreamed about having a place to share that love with people. And now I'm living that dream. In my 15 years of hospitality never had a server do that and I would never dream of doing that/ we let them know inside and they took off 20 percent the kicker was that Tony said I took money off your check and you aren't grateful but the prices were more expensive than the menu! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else in Jefferson! After being treated like that and cold food our entire meal should have been comped!

We stumbled in here and I'm glad we did! Everyone was so kind, the bruschetta and gourmet grilled cheese were divine, and the atmosphere wonderful. They took time to explain the local wine and the story to their name. Loved it!

We did not eat but they do have a menu of sandwiches and cheeseboards. One side of the property is the coffee shop and the other side is the wine cellar offering several local wines including those from Enoch Stomp Winery. I tasted a few sweet wines and purchased one made by Enoch Stomp exclusively for this location. Both offered excellent service. There are many options in Jefferson but I recommend you make this one of your stops.

It is a unique idea. I would like the cornbread to taste more like cornbread but I do understand that they have to make it less crumbly, more like sandwich bread. That changes the flavor. I had the chili sandwich with Fritos. That was a recommendation from the staff to Caddo Lake State Park My hubs had the burger. Both were tasty. Dessert was apple pie and key lime pie. They were good. It's a unique place to try and I am glad we did. Would I come back? Probably not. Maybe my expectations were too high? I don't know. It was good and unique but I can't go above that. I did like the covers on the benches this is so you do t stick. I liked that they served the food on real plates. No skimping. Atmosphere was good.
