A bit more salty than I'm used to and texture was different. I think that was because of the muscadine syrup they put on top. I'm also thinking that may be the cause the saltiness. That they add a but more salt to counter the sweetness of the syrup. It was super tasty though. I bought 4 bottles of wine that day, 2 for my sweet friends that were hosting a welcome home party and 2 bottles for me to take back to California. All I can tell you is that the 2 bottles I bought to take back to Cali, never made it because I drank them in Paris. It was classified as a dry but we find blends aren't typically very dry & it had a wonderful flavor & stunning freshness, balance, and finesse. Mary was super nice explaining the history and how her family came to own the winery formerly known as St. Mary. The first three tastings are free and you can purchase additional tastings for $5. Three was plenty for us to decide which glasses and bottles to order. Her special sangria was delicious and the perfect slushy drink for the hot Texas day in early July. We ordered a bottle to go as well. The patio was not bad with a slight breeze and fans. The grapes they grow and make wine on site are sweet, however they partner with another winery for dryer wines.
