My grown son and me and the hubs were there around Thanksgiving and I have nothing but good things to say. Wings were large and tasty, my burger was perfectly medium and juicy. Best part was the beer! They had a seasonal brew with a peppermint candy rim that was almost chocolatey! So dang good. And they have flights. I sure hope they have that same seasonal beer this year. Service and atmosphere are five stars! Drinks probably a close four stars-note I'm not the beer drink but those I went with do drink beer and let me know it was good. I drank their seltzer and it was good. We only had appetizers so we will be back again to try entrees, the appetizers we tried were on recommendation from staff and were okay/good, but unlikely to order again. We're always up for a brewery and were excited to try this one. It wasn't busy when we went and the very friendly host sat us right away. Unfortunately, he was the only friendly one there. Not just one, but seemingly ALL of the waitresses were completely blind to us. We were sitting in the middle of the place and felt totally invisible, watching others that came in after us get waited on. Because of this, we moved to the bar, hoping if we were more in someone's face that we'd be served. I'm pretty sure if my mom hadn't spoken up and said what she wanted, the bartender would've ignored us indefinitely as well. Contrary to the service, the food was fantastic. Both the pretzel bites AND the pretzel were top tier; we got the regular pretzel to go and had it later on. The Reuben wasn't in my top 5 but it was still very good. Rueggenbach brewing is a little diamond in a rough in Marshall TEXAS. This brewery has unique beers and has some fantastic meals and they also can do pairing to meals with the selection of beers. This place has three stories one being the roof. The weight staff are exceptionally knowledgeable of the beer and of the food products. The brewery is very clean. The ambience of this location is very fun to be around. I was in town for a trial. I started for an appetizer. I tried the spicy cheese curds. That was very tasty. And I had a light salad called the seasonal salad. Man that salad was on the spot. I had one beer it was called the feast beer. It was a cream ale man that was out of this world. This is no doubt one of the coolest spots in Marshall, Texas. There is a fantastic food menu paired with beers here which makes for one of the best spots to get lunch or dinner and hang out in an old fire station with the coolest decor and furniture. Parking was easy and plentiful around the square where this local brewery sits at the edge of. By the looks of the guitars and amps set up inside they no doubt have live music here and probably often. I came in during the week, at dinner time, and they didn't have anyone playing that night. But I did see the monthly calendar of events on the wall (near the entrance) in case you want to make plans to check out some good talent. I bet it live music here sounds so good. This building has such a large ceiling that I could see the acoustics of the space to really compliment any band and/or singer. Go check up stairs too! They got some cool couches and hang out spots to play games and you can even have a large group upstairs. There is plenty of space and spots up there. Service was friendly and fast! I wanted some dinner and the bar lady guided me to a delicious spinach mushroom burger with fries. It was a large portion which made me super happy to have leftovers to take back with me for a midnight snack at my hotel. Trek upstairs and be sure to take in the rooftop views of the square of Marshall. I got some great photos of the views and really could tell Marshall is a charming little town. I recommend getting a beer or cider they have on the menu that just sounds delicious. Whatever calls to you I know they have something on their beer or wine list for you. I even saw a cooler off to the side with additional bottles of wines and drinks. Ask the staff what they suggest and take a chance. You will be happy you do as I had a nice strawberry creme cider here the evening I came in and it was delightful! read more

What a treat to find this great brewery on our impromptu detour to see the famous Harrison County, Texas Courthouse Christmas Lights. The great music from the live band drew us to investigate, Owner/Brewer Texas invited us in for a tour. Impressive is an understatement. Look forward to returning to spend more time! Marshall's first brewery has established a cozy home inside the city's original fire station on the square. The 1872 building has been beautifully renovated and designed to showcase a working brewery. Rüeggenbach offers a small menu of pub food (see menu). The star here is the beer. It's a great place to hangout with friends and enjoy an ice cold beer made right on the premises. Many different varieties of brew are on tap. The place is three stories tall, with a sofas, a bar, and tables on the first floor. A concert and meeting area is on the second floor. Just above that is a rooftop patio overlooking the courthouse square. There's nothing else like it in town. read more

We went during the Ruggenbach Oktoberfest. The brewery was very busy, and the service was marginal, we waited for an hour and. No one took our order. So we left. They did have a tent outside selling some of their brews and we purchased the Hefeweizen. It was very good. I'll try them again, if only to get a beer. How the food is, I don't know. Probably not fair to judge their waitstaff since I'm certain they are usually not as busy as they were that particular day. read more

Atmosphere and location was awesome. Food was meh, especially the giant pretzel which was so disappointing as I order a pretzel anytime it's on a menu. The pretzel was dense and tough, the cheese was not great, and it didn't come with mustard.. honestly one of the worst pretzels I've had. What a gem! Can't wait to return! Great atmosphere, staff were great, adorable brew pup, great food and beer! Hubs had the Sour Salamander and raved! He also had the protein plate and loved it. Commented on how juicy the chicken was. I sampled the cheese on it, and it was great! I had the berry salad with chicken. He was eight about the chicken! It was tender, juicy and full of flavor. This salad was amazing! They warned me ahead of time they were out of strawberries, but it was still great! Honestly, I was VERY pleasantly surprised by it! We shared the UBe cheesecake. Very excited to try this place. We were headed to a magic show and it's close by. Server took our order pretty quick. We wanted a little time to look over the menu on our phones so we got drinks. I wanted to order an appetizer but she was too quick. Took our dinner order and I also asked for the pretzel appetizer. Half our order came out and we waited for the other half. Mushroom burger was very good. Fries were also very good. Kids ordered the Mac and cheese. One kid cleaned her plate the other is picky. She got to almost half way and said it was too mushy for her. Father in law loved his bratwurst plate. Sister had the burger that came with habanero jam and said it had just a little kick but also was sweet. Kids ordered the macaroons. My girlfriend and I stopped in on our way through the area sightseeing on a weekday afternoon. We were immediately greeted by the owner and his family. Very good people. Treated us like family. The beer was good. They had a normal selection of IPAs and other craft beers. I would recommend 2 things... serve the particular beer in its intended glass.. tulip glasses for IPAs ect.. Also, I would be more bold with the beer offerings.. something unique. Habanero, blackberries, something you can't get anywhere else. The building itself is amazing. Our party had some allergy concerns, and they were addressed very quickly. They were knowledgeable about the menu, but also willing to double check when questions were asked. The food was good.
