I also read in the local paper that they were charged with discrimination against disabled persons and had to go to court. I don't know the outcome. Such a great authentic real country western style bar/restaurant. There are literally people who ride their horses there & tie them all up outside. I went solely for the performing "Ron E Cash" who sings Johnny Cash songs. Not only was he a great live performer, but he also went around introducing himself to everyone & thank them for coming personally. The food was great. I had the "Heart Attack" burger which I loved, but I've also heard their chicken wings are amazing as well. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is the service was a little slow, but only because they were so busy. read more

We are Arizona natives and went there during the summer once a week with the grand kids and friends. Broasted Chicken was good, drinks were weak, but the kids always had fun. As soon as the snow birds show up, us loyal well tipping regulars were pushed away with poor quality food and service. Thought we would give it another try last night. Wow what a mistake. After over an hour wait, my chicken was fried with panko batter full of grease and blood. When I complained Mo the arrogant ass of an owner wanted to argue with me about the chicken. Absolutely Horrible! Decided to try this place for the first time to celebrate my husbands birthday! The waitress first tried to pass off some nasty beer to us as Coors lite! She then got very testy when we questioned her about it. She then told us all off when we asked for another round and flipped us all off. Dont know what her problem was. We did nothing wrong to deserve being treated this way! We then asked for manager Tina, she was just as bad if not worse! This place was horrible, they never even attempted to take our dinner order after being there for an hour. We were told to leave. We then went to Fillies, had a great time, were treated like royalty and had fabulous food! Thanks Fillies for making my husbands birthday great after being treated like crap at the Hitching Post! An unbelievable experience today. The owner denied my boyfriend's disabled mother service in the restaurant because she had a service dog, that he claimed as an emotional support animal. He berated her in front of about 40 patrons, causing her much stress, called the police for asserting her civil rights, and had his bouncer kick us out. In fact (and ironically) the service dog started alerting her that her blood pressure was getting high in that moment. That is illegal under both federal & AZ state disability laws. I can tell you one thing - we will not be letting this go. Complaints will be filed and we will pursue a lawsuit. The owner was dismissive, ignorant to the law, rude, and he even assaulted my boyfriend because he was filming the violation of his mother's rights. Luckily, we have much of this on film. Heed the advice of the other negative reviews about this place and avoid this place like the plague. read more

My friends and I and went hiking this past Saturday and we worked up a good appetite so we stopped here to eat. Should have read the reviews first. This place was awful. Service was rude and not attentive. My friends asked for a water and she got a small Dixie cup of water and no refills. She was filling her water up with the bottle she had from hiking. Food was cold and moderate. Once we finally got our bill the server returned the receipt without a pen and walked away. Then came back and stood at our table and just waited. We looked at her and she said she was waiting on us to sign. We didn't have a pen. She seemed upset by this and got a pen and came back to stand over the shoulder and again waited for the signed copy. Rude, as it puts pressure for the tip. Then grabbed the receipt out of the hand and reached over for the itemized receipt and said she needed that too. No "excuse me" nothing, just rude. As far as the other post that said they do not allow service dogs....I don't know how they justify "no dogs" but you can bring your horse and they have bull riding?.? read more

If I could give zero stars I would, we walked in, no one spoke to us, looked at us, and there were literally no other customers in the bar. We were the only people who were there and when we asked if we could go outside, three times, they ignored us. Talk about an absolutely FUN Time!!! Boy, we Loved this place! I brought my wife and another couple last weekend & we had a blast all night! They have an Amazing Country Band (makes you feel like your at the Grand Old Opry) that kept me on my feet all night and kept my wife very happy. I'm not usually one for dancing, but my wife is, you know how that goes. At first I didn't feel like dancing, but once I started, I couldn't stop. Seriously, I was shocked at how GREAT this Country Band was!!! I've never heard another Band in a bar play so good! We mostly drank danced and hung out until closer to the end of the night and that's when we ordered some food. The broasted chicken was juicy and wonderful and we loved the pizza and wings as well. They even had some home made apple pie and ice cream! Some people came on their horses and hitched them up right in front of the joint, so we got to pet them and get to know the owners. They were very nice! This was a Very down home country bar/restaurant! Best "Bar Food" I ever had! We will be back this weekend, you can bet on that! read more

A group of us came here today for lunch after a long hot hike in the Supes. My first time here. Really convenient location if you're coming in off the trails or just out for a day drive to take in the scenery. Lots of character (both the decor and the patrons). Today I had lunch with some other ladies, and our Service Dogs, at The Hitching Post in Apache Junction. We had heard the food was good, and wanted to support local business. Much to our dismay, the waitress, and then the owner came to the table advising us that no animals are allowed! The owner was quite belligerent, demanding "Proof" that the dogs are "Certified" by Pinal county. One of the ladies politely explained the rules for service dogs, and provided a card for the owner's use-which he refused,(rudely.) Even after a speaker phone call to the ADA,(American Disabilities Act Department,) he insisted proof was needed, as well as demanding to know what medical conditions the owners had to require the Service Dogs. Apparently, he has never heard of HIPA?! The owner stated he would allow us to order, and he would be researching further online, but that we would need to call first before we would be allowed entry in the future. The entire time, the dogs were quietly lying under the table. The waitress promptly brought menus, we ordered, ate and tipped her generously for her hard work and the stress caused by the owner's attitude and ignorance regarding laws and rights concerning Service animals. The food was pretty good, and I'd enjoy returning, if only the owner would respect his patrons, and their rights. Incidentally, he left his cigarettes and lighter at our table!
