They must be having a bad day here because they definitely have made my Sunday morning breakfast crappie. Ordered waited an hour only to be told they were out of sourdough bread watched people order eat and leave even witnessed someone change order and get it eat and leave. Then to be told I can't get a refund because they are having trouble with internet. Wanted some good food and wanted to leave a good review but now I'm stuck trying to find breakfast after 1pm. $33.66 bill and now got to find something to eat. Like I said hopefully they can get there stuff together. Looks like Waffle House for us!! read more

Great location. Been twice now, this second time took the cake in terms of terrible service. It took an hour to receive two lemonades, a bagel, and a croissant out of the pastry case. I'd been wanting to check this spot out, and I finally got the chance to visit with a girlfriend. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted, which wasn't a big deal, but I did notice that the person behind me was acknowledged right away--just something worth mentioning. The menu had a great variety of options, and I was able to find something both tasty and healthy. My latte was a bit light on the espresso, but still enjoyable. Several issues. The place smelled and looked kinda grimey. Ordered 2 specialty coffees and a couple baked goods. We threw the baked goods away after one bite of each because they both tasted stale and like a refrigerator. Not sure how old they were. My latte was served luke warm at best. Barista said their steamer is temperamental so it doesn't always heat the milk but still served it to me and charged me for it. The place smelled strongly of mold/mildew as soon as we walked in. We opted for to-go coffee due to smell. Leak in the ceiling upstairs with a drip bucket may be cause of smell. The ambience doesn't hit. Cute tree/vine concept but it ends there... it cold be so much more. No real vibe here if you're looking for a great coffee shop. There's loads of seating here but zero appeal or ambience to sit and stay. read more

Last week I had one of the best smoked salmon bagels of my life here. They serve it with a lemon vinaigrette that pairs really well. I had been bragging about this place to everyone and went to put in an order today for lunch. I stood at the counter for nearly 10 minutes with no one even acknowledging me or just saying "it will be a minute." I was one of three people in. I understand that they are short staffed and they are required to take and make orders, but just acknowledging that I was there and had been patiently waiting would have been nice. I didn't cause a scene or feel entitled for anyone to say anything to me, but if I'm going to spend $15 in a place for lunch, I at least would like to feel like they want me there. I quietly left and walked across the street to Another Broken Egg where I had to pay double the price for the same sandwich, but at least they greeted me and took my order. I don't mind the wait. Ambiance was boring, not much of a vibe. Bad music and you can't find a quiet spot to get away from it and work on anything. But there was a lot of seating and a lot of outlets to plug devices into. No soap in the restroom upstairs. Now for the food and drinks... Food looks delicious but honestly didn't have much flavor (I got the avocado toast on sourdough with bacon and hard boiled egg). They don't have any iced tea at all, sweet or unsweet. The lemonade was good and fresh. I was planning to get a coffee after my meal, but decided against it because I didn't think it would be very good based on the rest of my experience there. read more

We went here for a lunch date outing because the outside looked so cute. It's conveniently located off of State Street and I just love the ambience of that area. The inside is decorated so cute with the Decour made out of tree limbs and branches. It has a very boho Aspen chic feel! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my special request. You can get anything from iced coffee's, smoothies, overnight oats, salads fresh baked goods and more! And the iced coffee was delicious and the outside seating was nice yet intimate. The Hideout is truly a little hidden area inside West Columbia! the hours of this location are very contradicting to my work schedule (boohoo!!) which makes it hard for me to visit. The interior is very unique and cute, and I love that their menu offers so much. From coffees to teas to smoothies, there is something for everyone! This is also a great place to get breakfast/brunch and dessert as they serve those items as well. I was a bit disappointed by the customer service, which is why I gave Hideout a 4/5. I really appreciate this place. I have a severe dairy allergy and I asked them on Instagram about what their dairy-free options were. They went above and beyond to be accommodating and made an allergen menu on their Instagram page! Really cute interior with pretty good drinks. The back patio is very cute as well. Somewhat limited seating inside, as the upstairs isn't open (yet?), but I've always seen seats open. The Strawberry Cheesecake Dream Smoothie tastes very much like a Key Lime Pie Dream Smoothie instead. For starters their lattes are amazing. I had the miel (honey and cinnamon) and my sister had the snickerdoodle - both were wonderful! I had seen so many instagram posts from this place I couldn't wait to go there and asked some family to meet me there for breakfast on my birthday. I don't know if we arrived too early but the staff barely spoke to us. The Peanut Butter Banana oatmeal didn't have enough of either flavor for my taste - the predominant flavor was greek yogurt. I tasted someone else's chocolate chai oatmeal and it was better. The people who ordered avocado and peanut silk smoothies said the flavor combination was really weird. My chai latte was good. We were going to try some of the items in the baked goods case to go but nothing was going well so we skipped that. I don't know if it was just a bad day but we didn't feel welcome and many of the flavors weren't great. (Also, there is a lot of single-use plastic used - for oatmeal, smoothies, utensils - so ecologically, not a good choice.) read more
