I'd been wanting to check this spot out, and I finally got the chance to visit with a girlfriend. When I walked in, I wasn't greeted, which wasn't a big deal, but I did notice that the person behind me was acknowledged right away--just something worth mentioning. The menu had a great variety of options, and I was able to find something both tasty and healthy. My latte was a bit light on the espresso, but still enjoyable. The ambiance is definitely a vibe...cool, stylish, and even a great spot to record a video. Overall, a solid experience!

Probably my fault for ordering the Nutella latte. It's weak espresso, milk, and a gob of Nutella that doesn't mix in. Staff was off putting and it smelled bad.

We stopped in this am after a walk at Cayce Riverwalk for some breakfast. We each ordered an open face sandwich and a beverage. At the staff's suggestion I ordered the #4 with cucumber, feta and balsamic. It was very refreshing and light - just perfect after a morning walk! The coffee was a little sweet (I got the Neopolitan with almond milk). Definitely would recommend!

Excellent coffees and cappuccinos. There is a great patio area for an outdoor option. The Macarons are DELICIOUS! I had the prociutto tartine and it was really good. The apple tart is tasty as well. Since the owner also owns Crepes & Croissants, the croissants are always fresh and delicious..chocolate croissants are a favorite.

We went here for a lunch date outing because the outside looked so cute. It's conveniently located off of State Street and I just love the ambience of that area. The inside is decorated so cute with the Decour made out of tree limbs and branches. It has a very boho Aspen chic feel! The staff was very friendly and accommodating to my special request. You can get anything from iced coffee's, smoothies, overnight oats, salads fresh baked goods and more! And the iced coffee was delicious and the outside seating was nice yet intimate. Perfect for those looking to get out of the office For a nice quiet place to have a bite or to work.

Cute spot! Best lattes & delicious food! I had an oat milk latte and veggie sandwich it hit the spot. Even got a parking spot out front! My son loved their macaroons. Can't believe they have trees as decor loved it! Will definitely be back! Sweet staff! Loved going around the corner to the mural alley too!

The Hideout is truly a little hidden area inside West Columbia! the hours of this location are very contradicting to my work schedule (boohoo!!) which makes it hard for me to visit. The interior is very unique and cute, and I love that their menu offers so much. From coffees to teas to smoothies, there is something for everyone! This is also a great place to get breakfast/brunch and dessert as they serve those items as well. I was a bit disappointed by the customer service, which is why I gave Hideout a 4/5. Overall, my experience was not bad and I do hope to visit again :)

I really appreciate this place. I have a severe dairy allergy and I asked them on Instagram about what their dairy-free options were. They went above and beyond to be accommodating and made an allergen menu on their Instagram page! The sourdough bread was delicious and I tried the peanut Avacado silk smoothie and honestly I was pleasantly surprised. It's pretty expensive but I just got paid so I thought I'd ball out on this fine Sunday afternoon. It's also a 5 min walk from my apartment so I was like what the heck let's go

They had a really zany coffee section, with an assortment of unique coffee mugs, where you could get bottomless cups of coffee for only a few dollars. I got the chicken tenders and fries to eat, which were cooked to perfection and tasted excellent. Even though I shouldn't have, I wrapped up my meal with a piece of chocolate cake, which was absolutely delicious as well. All of the staff members were really nice and did a great job, and I loved the old-school, wacky (in a good way) ambiance and environment. It almost felt like the type of place you'd see in a TV show or movie, and I mean that in the best way possible. I will say that it's a little more expensive than most other restaurants, but that's obviously reflected in the quality of food and service that they provide. Overall, I loved my trip to Cafe Strudel, will definitely be back in the future, and would recommend it to anyone. A 5/5 experience for sure!

Wait staff was barely around and food took a whileee to come out and at various times. The food was also good but not great. You can add protein to any item, but for essentially the cost of the meal. Adding turkey sausage was $7 and a small portion (and could have gone without), while the sunrise burrito in total was $10 and massive. I will say there was barely any wait at prime time on Sunday because barely anyone knows it's there.

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.

Do keep in mind that parking can be tricky, especially on nice days when many visitors are enjoying the nearby Cayce/West Columbia Riverwalk. A little patience goes a long way! As for the food, it was absolutely top-notch! I opted for a simple but classic breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon, and everything was cooked perfectly.
