First negative - the tables were SO close together you could barely get between them - ok you're trying to fit as many as you can but the restaurant had at least 6 tables open why are you cramming us in between two parties. We asked to take a different table and they said no??? We go to order - get the chicken wings and clams, flavor was good on both but the texture on the chicken wing skin was literally gum - disgusting. The little necks were good but quite honestly about ten in the order - far too expensive for ten little necks. I ordered Cesar salad with grilled shrimp - the base was spinach??? If that's what you're going to serve with a Cesar tell me on the menu - I LOATHE raw Spinach. My niece and daughter had burgers definitely frozen patties no chance they were fresh - actually gross! My husband ordered the sea bass. It was undercooked - couldn't break it with a fork - stretchy nasty. Sent it back to be cooked more. Instead of giving him a new piece they cooked his already cut and torn apart piece of fish. Embarrassing! To boot my niece ordered a casamigos margarita - $30 are you actually kidding me?!?!!!?!! Would never never never recommend this place to anyone, can't even remotely understand the reviews. Huge disappointment

This review is from awhile ago…read more I would really recommend this place. It was our first time at Pigeon Cove. We enjoyed it very much. So this is an upscale eatery, part of a hotel. We just loved the atmosphere. As you c an see from the pictures this is a really nice place with lovely decor and wonderful service. And before I talk about the food I must mention our wonderful server Amanda. I rarely mention server's names unless they are incredible and that is what Amanda was. Both my dad and I agreed she was one of the best server s we have ever had anywhere. Ask for her table if you go! So not being from the area, we did not know what to expect. The menu is small but nice. I myself had a burger. My dad had Crab and Avacado. I did not partake in that because I had just had crab the day before. It sure looked good though and ac cording to my dad it was! Burger was huge. And very good. I however could not finish it. Oh..we both had Sangria. I think it was maybe the tastiest Sangria I have ever had. Just look at the pics! The reason I did not give it a higher score (although a 3 is not bad) is just because the menu is quite limited. I wish there had been more choices. Also the burger was a bit overdone. But the taste was good plus the Sangria was picture perfect and the service beyond wonderful. So to sum up..great evening with yummy good in an upscale atmosphere with great service. I look forward to visiting again if in the area.

The lobster appetizer and sliders were seasoned well and tasted fabulous. I noticed there weren't any recent reviews...I know they have a new chef and owners and want everyone to come try! I'd been meaning to try this place for how long? And FINALLY got the opportunity Friday evening!…read more A group of 5 of us decided on DRIFT after earlier visiting The Cape Ann Museum. I believe we entered close to 8pm. There were people there, but it wasn't too crowded. I got there 1st and was greeted by the friendly host - who may also be an owner? I'm not sure, but I asked if they had room for us . No problem. He gave me a table by the windows.. very nice. I felt right away very cool vibes. The bar area is gorgeous and they offer some very interesting creations... But we all decided on wine. The food menu looked interesting also. But limited... Maybe that's best because everything we ordered was outstanding. I believe 3 of my table mates had chowder as an app . All 3 said they enjoyed there's very much. I ordered a flatbread - being vegetarian " fig without the pig ". Mine was absolutely perfect. 1 person I remember orders the chicken pie and she said it was delicious. Our server was prompt and attentive. At one point he brought over 2 carafes of water with glasses which was great. It wasn't long before their live entertainment began .. an awesome band! Too tired we stayed just for 1 song. When leaving we noticed a line outside waiting to get in. I'm sure they were thrilled seeing 5 people leave early. We all liked it there so much we will definitely be returning soon!

What a great dinner experience at The Exeter Apothecary, downtown Exeter. Located in a beautifully…read morerestored building, this is much more than a great cocktail bar. Sitting above sister restaurant Vino e Vivo, chefs Nick and Paul bring elevated small and large plates to this casual setting. Cocktails were great, as you might expect. Head bartender Chris has a creative list of cocktails and I'm sure could mix up anything else you might desire. We tried several small and large plates. Really hard to call out a favorite as they were all good. The Parsnip soup was creamy, rich and delicious with several touches such as crisped rice and basil oil on top that really made this a standout. Beet tartare was great as well with rich delicious beet flavor and texture reminiscent of beef tartare. Don't miss the cornbread with pork belly butter! Service is warm and friendly and chef Nick ran many of the dishes to the tables and bar personally. You could see (and taste) the passion he has for food. Exeter has another gem with Exeter Apothecary !

Cocktail Lovers, this must be the place!…read more Calling all cocktail lovers, make Exeter Apothecary your next place to visit. Located right above the beautiful Vino E Vivo restaurant (see prior review), it's the new HIT spot in Exeter. Only about 20 minutes or so from Portsmouth but a fun spot for cocktails, wine and dessert. Ambiance is chill with comfy bar seats, side tables and bartenders that can shake, sitr and whip up almost any cocktail to your liking. We did share their Amaro Flip which was fabulous. I know we will be back for sure since they offer small plates and decadent desserts too. Cheers~
