Stopped in to buy a new helmet since my old one was way too old to be safe. Mark was very knowledgeable regarding everything from helmet construction, fit, ventilation and other options. I was initially being helped by a very nice, knowledgeable salesperson and was ready to purchase a Bluetooth device for my helmet. They wouldn't fit my brand of helmet unfortunately. Even more unfortunate was the gentleman who came uninvited to the conversation to interject his opinion on my helmet brand and then berate my decision for another 5 minutes. The friendly and helpful salesperson showed me some helmet options that were perfect and reasonably priced. That being said, because of the very unpleasant experience with the gentleman, she lost a sale and I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I did not purchase a helmet here but I most likely will. The assistant manager is an absolute wealth of knowledge and answered all my million questions with patience and kindness. They have a great selection and seem to nurture great relationships with their vendors. If you have a problem with your bluetooth for example, just bring it in and they handle the customer service side of it for you. Five star service every time. Where do you find the people who work here? Hand chosen jack-of their trades! Dave and his team are masterminds at working on motorcycles. The staff is so nice down to earth and knowledgeable. I never feel like I'm being brushed off or ignored. But the real gem is the service department. You will not get anything you don't need. No up sales, no gimmicks. Dave does a great job making it feel like I'm taking my bike to my own father who truly cares about my Safety. No corners cut. You can watch him through the glass really mentoring his mechanics at being more then just mechanics. He makes them shine with his know how. And I have a feeling he loves doing it!! The sales department knows just as much. They always have recommendations that are spot on because they have hours and hours of personal experience with just about every bike under the sun. They are hard to hit with a curve ball question or request! There is one place in the valley I can trust my life and my safety to. The helmet center is it! As a follow-up to my recent review, the strap on the new Scorpion helmet I bought the previous week inexplicably tore. The excess portion that overlaps and snaps back onto itself somehow ripped. I took it back to The Helmet Center on Monday afternoon. Mark called Scorpion and they were to ship out a replacement later that day. I got a call yesterday afternoon from Mark letting me know that the replacement had come in, maybe just 24 hours after the requisition was made. The quick release mechanism on the strap was transferred to the new helmet and I was out the door in about 15-20 minutes. So, again I'd just like to emphasize that The Helmet Center and all the staff are really outstanding and you should absolutely stop in any time you need a new lid, parts, and even service. I LOVE this place and it's employees! They are so very knowledgeable and patient! Love each and every one of them! A special "thank you" to Mark. Have been a customer for about three years. Originally went there to purchase Ram Mounts (to hold a drink and one for my cell phone). Ended up not only buying them, but a Bluetooth unit so I could hear my music, GPS, and also talk to a riding buddy! Have bought a rain suite, helmet and over-gloves. Recently I bought two new helmets and wanted to be able to use the Bluetooth on them. Thought I had to by all new units. Nope! Brought in the helmets, they ordered the new cradles I needed so I can switch "the brain" or the original Bluetooth. Yesterday they mounted everything free of charge! Friendly staff! I was very impressed by their staff. I worked mainly with Nate R. who helped me find the 1-pc. leather suit that fit me perfectly -- my 2012 Arlen Ness Lady Mag!! I initially was going to buy the 2011 Arlen Ness Lady Mag, but the size they had left would not have fit me correctly. I realized this after I ordered and paid, but Nate R. worked with me to make sure that I got my refund. He also offered great advice on how the 2012 suit fit and answered all of my questions about the suit. He was very knowledgeable about the leather and the fit. It shows that even though the suit was a womens', he took the time to learn about the pros and cons of the suit. His wife actually wears the suit herself and he was very diligent about getting her feedback (good and bad) to provide me with all the info I would need before purchasing the suit. I can't believe I've already put 15k miles on my bike. So it was time for the works valve job coolant spark plugs new tires full inspection and more!! They guys at the shop were super helpful explaining to me and showing me the wear and tear and what needed to be done for my own safety. Riding her home was like a different bike. So much smoother a little more quiet and the bike overall felt brand new. I couldn't be happier with the service and now my girl is ready to hit the curves now that it's stopped snowing. read more

Worst place EVER!! Brought my husband's bike here to have it tuned up and running good so that when he came home from Afghanistan on leave he could just get on and ride! First time we went to ride it we broke down on the freeway!!! They said it was bad spark plugs and that I had declined to get new spark plugs done. A $10 part which I assumed was part of a tune up and NEVER denied!! My exact words were I want this running and running good, not save me $10 so we can spend $125 on a tow truck!!! Took it back in they told us that we also needed a fuel line replaced, charged us an additional 200 and something dollars which was not what I was quoted but brought it home went to ride it and fuel is leaking everywhere! Their response is to say "we bent over backwards to get this running!!"" WOW!!! If they had it would have been running right now!! So my husband will not get to ride his bike on leave after dropping $800!! UPDATE!!! We took the bike to someone else and the carburetor was done incorrectly and the float was not set correctly!! Most likely we didn't have a leak where they said we did and it's why it only leaked when it was revved up! So not only did we have to pay to get what they did fixed we most likely paid for something that we didn't need to!! Shame on them!!! read more

I walked in yesterday needing some assistance with my helmet that I bought elsewhere. I was immediately greeted and I received great help right away. It's easy to tell that they enjoy their jobs and enjoy helping out their customers. Today wasn't my first visit, but the staff made such an impression that I just had to say something. I bought a helmet here almost 3 years ago that is no longer available and was showing it's age, even with regular care. I had searched around online for new internal pads with no success, so I went into the store to look for a new helmet. The guys looked at my helmet and said that it looks to be in excellent shape and that they have one set of pads that they found during their inventory. Not only did they install my new pads, they did a complete service and thorough inspection, giving me back the confidence in my helmet. My Kabuto Ibuki feels like new again and no squeaking hinges. No one tried to sell me anything I didn't need, unlike some other places. Most of my riding gear is from The Helmet Center already, but after today, I'm making this place my first stop for any motogear needs. read more

This place has really gone down hill. The selection isn't very good, not very many sizes in certain colors. "If you want a medium, you have to get red". Doesn't make any sense. I can understand the selection being down maybe from the pandemic. The worst part is the customer service. This heavier girl was helping us and in the middle of our conversation she leaves and helps another customer. We were puzzled. What just happened? The. This older guy with a grey / brown beard comes out from the back and is going 400 miles per hour. Doesn't let us finish a sentence. Doesn't want to listen to what we were looking for. He was answering his own questions while chewing on his own face and grinding his jaw. I can spot tweaker when I see one. This dude was high as hell. We left. This place is a shit show. We bought 2 helmets from cycle gear. They have a waaaay better selection and actually care and know what they are talking about. read more

Terrific experience buying a motorcycle helmet here. Mark has a very good understanding of the products and listens to what I was asking for. I actually "changed" my mind when I went back to pick up the Scorpion Gloss White, and asked for the Black Matte instead. Without hesitation Mark walked over and brought me the helmet I wanted. There are good business owners and there are bad ones. The owner of this place is one of those really good ones. After my original review the owner wrote me and offered to take back my electronics purchase even though it was not their police to do so. And the best part was that he explained himself in a very not confrontational manner. He knew the employee, explained that he was new(er) and that having thousands of items (and they do!) that it's difficult for new people to know each and everything. I completely agree. So with that in mind I am TOTALLY revising my review. The sales staff assisting me was AMAZINGLY helpful in picking out the proper fit/helmet for me. I HIGHLY recommend you (at the very least) buy your first helmet HERE ... the learning experience is bar none. And one more thing ... one of the first things my salesman asked me was "how much are you willing to spend?". And that one always get's my dander up as what almost always happens after that question is "the up sell" ... NOT here. I told him I wanted to spend around $100-200 ... and he took me right to some than he liked that were in the low $100 range. That means a lot to me ... the guy was clearly a pretty honest and good dude! read more

I would hate to start any review with " there are two kinds of...." but since this is a review related to motorcycle clothing , kinda related to two, wheels that is, but I'll save it till later. Buying a helmet unseen, second hand or because it came free with the bike are usually the kind of people that are cranky after a long ride. While I respect the choice of people to not wear helmets please respect mine to laugh at you:) My wife's helmet is on display at this shop as a reminder that local laws are one things but the laws of physics tend not to be so transient. We've bought 3 helmets from here, they have an excellent range both in prices, styles ( open , closed ,modular, mx , etc) and often different grades of finish for each type. Price wise they won't be the cheapest , that pesky sakes tax thing but.., but in terms of service in the choice and fitting you are unlikely to spend time returning the item you bought .and if you have to it's painless process. Good range of personal accessories, visors, gloves, socks and footwear which tends more to the street than the track / bar. Even better they keep the visors, part kits and other knick knacks to service the popular lines that they sell . They give good advice based on your questions, actually know about the helmets,their construction, effectiveness and will take the time to make sure you get what you need. Yep there's two kinds of people bikers and motorcyclists. It's interesting to me that the crotch rocket types wear only a helmet then shorts,tshirt and sneakers and the Harley types wear heavy boots, leather, jackets and er no helmet. Helmet Center is more to the street side overall but if you need a helmet, now and actually care about the contents of it I really don't think you can get a better experience on the north side of Phoenix and probably the valley as a whole. read more

I had to get new tires on my Harley, called in and talked to Darin. He took his time on the phone and got me prices on a few different types of tires, which I really appreciated. When i dropped off my Harley, I was talking with Daren about how I had to sell my other motorcycle He asked what it was and what i was looking to get. I ended up sending him some pictures of the bike and he talked with the owner. (I cant remember his name now) They offered me MORE than what I was looking for!!! Prices as good as you can find online with out the need to ship and the ability to get help. I made the trek up north to get a new helmet, I know my hat size but that did little to comfort me for buying helmet. The in store staff helped me find the right fit which with our their help I would have though was too small as I did not think about break in. Check their prices online as they may be lower and they will honor them in store. If they don't have what you need they will order it and have it sent to the store or directly to you for no added cost. They also stocked other gear for motorcyclists. It was nice to see knowledgeable staff who knew the products vs some minimum wage workers. Just as a note check the hours as they are not always open. read more

You can hop online and shop looking for the best deals, and take risks that things may not fit 100% perfectly, and that we may not be 100% happy with our purchase. Well, stop doing that. Head to The Helmet Center and get everything you need for riding except the motorcycles (or ATV's, etc...) You will get the best pricing, and THE BEST service around. An avid motorcycle rider and RiderCoach, I've been on two wheels since I was seven years old. Now, at 43, I find that there were better helmets out there that fit like they were custom made. I stopped by The Helmet Center just to try on helmets (intending to then go online to buy) and had Christian size my melon. I have been wearing the wrong size and ill fitting brain buckets all these years. Then, when I discussed pricing, found that I cannot find a better price online. I even compared their pricing on products I can find at places like Wal-Mart (example Frogg-Toggs). The pricing was BETTER than what I found at Wal-Mart. Surprised the hell outta' me. These guys know what they're doing. They are owner operated and CARE about my needs and desires. They treat customers like friends, and are fiercely competitive with their prices. The first time that I visited the now old location I had a so-so experience, the store was cramped, did not have what I was looking for in stock, and the sales people were the least knowledgable I've seen except cyclegear. All of that changed when I decided to give them another shot at the new location which is expansive and has much more in stock, not to mention the employees seem to have had much better training and even both of the owners have been working all the times I have been in. I was fitted for a new pair of race boots to be ordered and was told that if they do not fit they will keep exchanging them until they do with no charge, and that alone deserves a 5 star review. This is now my go to shop for all of my race/track day parts and gear not to mention anything else riding related. read more

Once inside the store, I met Jeff and was guided to my absolute favorite helmet, and for less than $200! Unfortunately it was on manufacturer back-order, so I had to wait. I ordered a Shoei GT-Air, from Helmet Center on Saturday April 8th. Carson was very informative and shared great information about all the various helmets, which helped me to make an informed decision to purchase the GT-Air. I brought my SENA 20 in with me today, and Dustin proceeded to install it for me complementary, as they install 1-3 or more a day. Dustin also upgraded the firmware for me to make sure that I was up-to-date. Dustin and Josh then proceeded to help me run the SENA 20 through its paces to make sure that it was working properly for me. I can't say enough good about these guys, and best of all no sales pressure!
