So I am new to riding and I bought a bike that is in really bad shape and he gave some advice that i am taking into cosideration, but i have a lot of friends willing to help me out so I decided to fix it up and make it look nice but he explained and taught me a lot about how bikes work and what connects where, so in short what im trying to say I %100 percent think anyone whos having issues with their bikes, Steves the man to help and he will give you straight up advice whether you like it or not, do not go to ride now, I went there and ask them to charge my battery, so i returned the next day and they said they forgot to charge it. Amazing! Absolutely nothing less than phenomenal! I recently purchased a 2002 Honda VTX1800 with Vance & Hines pipes and K&N air filter and a Power Commander3. It had been running horribly and had already fouled out a $60 set of plugs. I had taken it to the "dealer" where they could not even diagnose a bad fuel pressure regulator. Fast forward to looking at reviews and other opinions and was lucky enough to find Steve. He is an amazing bike mechanic and Dino tuner along with being a professional rider and now driver. I could have replaced the fuel pressure regulator most likely but I wanted it done correctly and wanted it tuned so I could enjoy the riding the bike like it's meant to be. The last thing I wanted to do was spend a ton of money to have the bike in the shop again but there was no other choice. Steve called me and told me that it was done, 3 days earlier than I expected. When I walked in he was smiling and said "I'm pretty sure you are going to love the tune I put on there after I replaced the FPR". OMG he was right! He completely exceeded my wildest expectations. I never thought that this bike could sound so great and run better than new. The performance of this bike now is incredible, and that's not even the best part! As I eluded to earlier, this was done sooner than expected but also less than expected! Steve is the type of person that doesn't do anything "extra" that is not necessary. I told him what was happening and he fixed it period. I told him the symptoms and I told him that I wanted to enjoy the bike like it was supposed to be, and he did just that. My Hayabusa sand car hasn't run correctly in 16 months. 4 mechanics at one shop, one at another, and two at another have worked on it and I've spent $1800 trying to fix it. It has been on 2 different dynos and had 15 new parts tried. And still it couldn't run right. I own a 2002 Harley Road King Scremin Eagle (CVO) with about 10k miles on it. Been garage kept all its life and is a Sunday driver. Retired about 7 months ago and decided I wanted to ride it more now that I had time to take some road trips with my wife of 46 years. The bike is in pristine shape but I wanted to make some slight mods to get a little more out of it in hp and torque. So I added a set of V&H slip ons and an Arlen Ness big sucker intake kit. The question was "did it need a tune" after these two mods. I had researched the web and opinions varied. I had never had a bike tuned before and wondered if a bike that old could handle being revved up to the rpm limiter several times. I was a little cautious of doing that and even more cautious of finding a shop/person that would give me some level of comfort and confidence. I again did my research over a two day period and based on the reviews, I chose Cycle Dynamics. I called Cycle Dynamics and a gentleman named Steve returned my call. When I asked for his opinion on whether or not a tune was needed, his reply was that "even a new bike could benefit from a tune since the manufacturer was always forced to make the bike run lean in order to meet EPA. regulations". Steve had several years of experience and a racing background so I moved forward with the decision. Turns out, that was a sound decision. Steve did what he obviously loves to do and the results were nothing less than stellar. When I saw the hp and torque curves based on the number of runs he did when I picked the bike up, I couldn't wait to experience the difference. The usable torque and horsepower to me was vastly different and improved. The torque curve was flat and handsome as it should be and the sweet spot was between 2500 and 4500 rpms. That was super important to me as getting out of the way and merging into traffic was much more important than top end. Knowing how the bike would respond at those rpms gives a man confidence when he needs it the most. Talk about fun and thrill, I can't begin to describe. Steve was a subject matter expert, as I had been in the legal field prior to my retirement. Can't say enough about his expertise. Throttle response smoother and quicker. Power increase obvious, It was like riding a new bike for the first time. Bottom line? He can take an already great bike and make it something you look forward to riding even more. So, if you take pride in ownership of your ride, then give it to this man and let him do his thing. Dropped the bike off at cob on Saturday and had it back the following Thursday. It was so worth the hour trip out to his shop from where we live. Cycle Dynamics will be the shop of choice for maintenance and any further mods going forward. As to price reasonableness, Cycle Dynamics was in the competitive range and maybe a little on the higher end of that range. Having said that, you only get specialized service when you pay for it. A while back I had the oil seals replaced on my Kawasaki 750 by this shop. While they were changing the seals, they replaced the neutral switch on the bike without my consent and charged me $80 for the privilege. I took my bike to get the idle adjusted beyond just turning the throttle adjustment but that's all that was done, idle was adjusted higher but not any better. I brought my bike to another mechanic and he found a massive vacuum leak - that's why the idle wasn't good. I also had Steve bleed my brakes because the previous mechanic's bleed didn't last - I suggested that the brake line may be stretched due to the handlebar risers but I was told that wouldn't cause air in the line (I doubted this). The brakes started squeeling within days after picking the bike up which they had never done before and the pads were fairly new ( 3Kmi). Steve told me that it had nothing to do with his service. I had another mechanic work on the bike because the squeeling was driving me nuts. The lines needed to be replaced since they were allowing air in slowly, the squeel is gone because they were bled correctly this time. I asked Steve to check fluids since he didn't have much to work on for the $70/hour and I wanted to get my monies worth. My clutch fluid was filthy and he didn't bother checking it. The other slap in the face was a modification I had made when I installed a new headlight and it wouldn't turn on when I turned the key so I tapped into the blinkers - my stupidity not to start the engine because this bike's headlight only comes on when the engine is running. Steve decided to charge me another hour $70 to redo my work instead of just telling me. (I did the work myself - I could take it apart without being charged for it). So $140 for a mechanic to turn the throttle adjustment knob, bleed my brakes and take apart the wiring that I did. I felt ripped off. - I told Steve I felt over charged and like I was paying way too much for so little. He blew me off. I also had to straighten out my license plate mount because it was bent (and still is) and turned down, guess it got snagged on something - no apology given. I had to fix it myself. read more

The parts they installed were top of the line and at a cost less than I could have got them (yes I'll admit I'm cheap and checked). I have a 02 Honda VTX 1800C. I brought it to Cycle Dynamics because I had a leaking fork seal. While talking about the fork seal job Steve mentioned that my particular bike can really benefit from a set of progressive fork springs and since he was already in there for the seals, I should consider getting it done. I had the bike into Steve a few years earlier for a wiring issue and he mentioned that the bike was running very rich and it would definitely run much better with a power commander installed and a dyno tune. I'll be honest - it ain't cheap to have that done and the first time he mentioned it a few years ago I declined. This time I agreed to make those improvements along with a full service (which includes flushing and replacing all the fluids, plugs, and too much to list here). I got the bike back yesterday (EARLIER than originally estimated I might add) and WOW! It's like a NEW BIKE. The springs completely transformed the bike's handling. I mean 100% improvement, not just a slight improvement. I honestly can't believe how much difference it made. It handles like one of the much smaller bikes I have owned in the past. I didn't think it was possible for this 1800cc behemoth to handle the way it does now. The power commander has also transformed the bike. It always kind of sputtered and coughed at low RPM at low throttle. I thought it was just how the bike was. That is completely gone now. It's smooth like butter through all the gears at all RPM and throttle positions. It is truly like a new and improved version of the bike. Couldn't be happier. Steve really knows his stuff and you can tell right away he's as passionate about your bike as you are (probably more). I was already a repeat customer and I highly recommend Cycle Dynamics. You can feel confident that he will won't upsell you crap you don't need. I've had bikes for 30+ years and have had them serviced at many shops. Took my Yamaha Road Star Warrior in for some service and also needed to get a Dyno and Tune done on it. Steve knocked it out of the park and made my bike run amazing and so much better than what it was before. Night and day difference in the ride and power. Steve was great. I had a full exhaust installed and my ECU flashed on my R6. The fuel map that was loaded didn't quite match my bike. Steve took my bike and custom tuned it. Bike runs fantastic now. He knows a lot about the R6. He isn't afraid to tell you like it is either...like the exhaust I put on is a piece of crap, so it's not making the peak HP it should. Steve was still able to squeak 6 hp more out of it though. I will be coming back for any other mechanical things I need done. Totally recommended. Thanks Steve! read more

Thanks Steve. Took a GHOST PROBLEM V-Rod to Cycle Dynamics . I told Steve it had been to the dealer 2 times and they said the bike HAD NO PROBLEMS . Guess if no codes are showing some shops cannot find the problem. Steve found the problem along with a few other issues this bike had . Most shops will not even touch your ride with a intermittent problem. Steve not only fixed it he did it FAST and at a very reasonable price and IT IS RIGHT NOW. He made a v-rod a V-ROD !!!! Motorcycle Magician!! I have taken my ride to Steve multiple times now, for new tires, brakes, full service, dyno tuning, and repairs. Every time I get my bike back it's been improved. I brought in my Suzuki GSXR which was having unknown issues and not running. Steve made an accurate and fast diagnosis on multiple problems and even kept my budget in mind, ordering a cheaper exhaust servo from Ebay. The bike turned out perfectly and for much less cost than was initially expected. He even repaired some bodywork and minor issues that he happened to notice at no cost to me. Total loss! Took my son's Honda 80 to Cycle Dynamics due to the high ratings on this site. Steve, the owner, told me that all the great reviews were because of his large family writing the reviews, I thought he was joking, maybe not. My son's bike was not shifting, Cycle Dynamics charged me for 3 hours of diagnositics and informed me that the shift fork was broke and available from Honda for $52.00. They also informed me that the bike needed to have the carb rebuilt. Total shop bill was $370.73 and included on the invoice was Clean Carb/Seal Vacuum leaks, replace carb manifold O ring, fuel needle valve. Picked up the bike Sept 22, was finally able to take the bike out this weekend. My son was riding the bike, stopped after about 15 minutes for a break, saw smoke starting to come from the engine, heard a hissing sound and the engine burst into flames. Bike is a total loss. I called Steve (shop owner) this morning to discuss what could have caused this. He offered me an $80 refund for the carb ...
