I actually stumbled into this bar late on a weekday night. They were the only bar only on the block and ended up being the perfect after-dinner spot. My date and I sat at the bar and ordered drinks. There were only a few other patrons so the energy felt relaxed and intimate. We were able to catch a few minutes of a Women's World Cup game, which was awesome since it didn't feel like a traditional sport bar. The lighting was low, the bar was backlight with greenery, and the cocktail selection was unique. I liked everything about this bar and I'll definitely post another visit when I'm on H. St.

Please do yourself a favor and get the truffle fries here. We also got high noon and a beer here. Service was friendly and vibe was chill :). No happy hour though nice nice drink selection.

Annie is a gem and 100% the reason why I went back two nights in a row. The dumplings are excellent and bursting with flavor. The nachos are also very good. Wouldn't necessarily get the tots again, but the portion is quite large. It's a cozy little spot with attentive servers and great drinks.

I made sure I checked in here to get the reminder to leave the review. Honestly was just walkin around and stumbled on this bar. Seemed cool so walked in. Bar was packed but there was seating elsewhere around. Simply asked the female bartender if they had a happy hour menu as most bars do..I didn't think it was that far fetch of a question...but she did. She made a joke about me inquiring about happy hour as if I couldn't afford a regular priced drink. I was overdue for a drink so I brushed her unprofessionalism off and ordered a drink ..it was basic but ehhh ..she def will ruin your customer retention with such ill behavior Signed, A person who will not be returning

Annie literally remembered us from more than 2 years ago!!!!!! Still my fav painkiller - tasty and strong. Service is obviously impeccable. Ambiance is changing - the menu is new - feels a bit more boogie and I'm not mad about it :)

The bartender/servicer was by himself but he made sure everyone is served with great services. Five stars for him. We order mess totes, buffalo wings and hot honey shrimp. All delicious. Nice small bar, with good atmosphere.

Very very loud. Almost annoying loud. Somewhat of a hip place. Seating is normal for the buildings on the rest of the street. The pour of the Tito's into their mules is more than fair. The food came out fast (just wings) they were normal nothing special. Each time I needed a another mule the bartender was right there. They have bartenders here not just beertenders.

Loved these cocktails, especially because they had green chartreuse which is hard to find at a bar. They made amazing cocktails with it and had creative options you don't find most places. Definitely will go back.

Shrimp and pork dumplings and Wifey cocktail. Dumbo kings were great! Sweet and spicy taste.

Service was amazing when I went. I arrived literally at 10PM when their kitchen closed and my bartender still let me sneak an order of dumplings in. It was so worth it! My first time here and glad I found it. Cute cocktail bar with speakeasy-ish vibes with reasonable prices. Will def be back!

I live in the neighborhood and finally came in to checkout Haymaker. The service was friendly and attentive and they made great recommendations on cocktails and food. I had the pork slides and truffle fries and ate them so fast because they were AMAZING! The cocktail I had was a "Wifey" and it was very light and refreshing. The atmosphere was great too, the lights were low and there was music but it wasn't so loud it made it hard to talk. I'll definitely be back!

It has a cool vibe, dark and cozy. The food is outstanding for a bar, great cocktails and the bartenders are very nice and attentive here you won't be waiting forever for a glass of wine. The food menu could have more food options and also some desert.

It is truly a marvel. The distillery does a great job at providing a great on-site bar experience, too. It is dim for a nice mood, always has a great playlist, and their cocktail list is always changing and always interesting. It is winter time, which means it's coquito time. La Famosa makes the world's best coquito, and it showcases C&R's rum nicely. If you want to keep it simpler, their rum old fashioned is delicious, too. They do not sell beer or wine, just rum, but with rum this good, who cares. They make a bunch of interesting, small batch rums throughout the year, and they work very well in cocktails, you will find something you like no matter what you like. They have been rocking at this spot for over nine years, now, so that really tells you something about their quality. They have earned a spot in the DC pantheon.

I think they take reservations but we were able to grab a bar spot. Are drinks pricey? What do you think? It's a cocktail bar in DC. The drinks we tried were pretty tasty, even the mezcal one which I thought was a refreshing take. The wall shows some of the drinks on the menu and the ingredients/glass it comes in which I thought was a nice touch. Bartenders were friendly but not too chatty as they were super busy but you never waited long for a drink. The bourbon drink with the whipped honey was our favorite but the gin drink that was pink was also fantastic. For food I did try the buffalo chicken dip, pretty large and tasty (not too spicy) and loved the super crisp celery and the fritos. Clean, trendy bathrooms, nice vibes throughout the whole spot for pictures, great for a night cap or pre-dinner drink.

They don't take revelations and the place fills up fast. It's a very cute spot and feels so comfortable and fun. Our bartender was Gaylan and he was great--had great reccs, laughed with us a bit, all around great guy. The 'let me just say this' was so soo good! It tasted like a rainbow--just bright and with a really delicious after taste. I should have stopped at the rose but after my trying my friend's, i had to have one! We initially came for happy hour, but moved to the cocktail menu. The hh was a bit limited, but the drinks were priced overall pretty reasonably for the area. My one complaint is the wine glasses were so teeny. Overall though, I would recommend this bar. Bonus: cheese balls when you sit down! I believe there is also a limited food menu (think nachos) for the after work or late night crowd.

I can tell you that a full meal is doable here even though it is mainly a bar. Given the tiny space and bar-only seating, it is not comfortable to stay too long, but we did enjoy the various dishes. We got everything on the menu except for the chip & the tomato dishes, ordered a drink each, and the bill came out to $175 (there is a 20% automatic gratuity, which the server pointed out to us). While we were there, we were the only ones to eat a full meal. We clocked an hour, while others didn't stay as long as we did. The confit duck leg was our least favorite dish; we didn't think the flavors worked well together. We really loved the pan de playa (crab sandwich)! Desserts were yummy. I had the most expensive drink at $22- Summers, Horses, Dreams. It was sweet, just how I like my drinks, but the glass seemed small. My husband had the Ni de aqui ni de alla, and he approved of it. There's a $10 per person deposit when booking reservations. The deposit goes toward your final bill, but you forfeit it if you're a no-show. They didn't have a phone number on their website (or Yelp or Google), so I was nervous when we were going to be late, but I was relieved they texted us when we were 15 minutes late to ask if we still planned to show.
