The best time to visit the Harbor is on Thursday nights during the summer for the free "Concert by the Lake" events. Each week brings a different style of music to the stage. Still a pretty view when looking out from the harbor, but businesses closing along with overpriced uninteresting retailers and restaurants hardly make it a destination. Add to that the fact that Rockwall traffic is terrible and it isn't convenient to anywhere that anyone lives unless they are local... I think you have a bad decision to try this type of business here. Not anyone's fault (except for maybe they could have seen it coming when planing the location) is that the harbor itself is looking terrible at the water line. Tons of docks grown over with weeds along with much of the shore. Maybe I'll try again in a year. Then again, maybe not. read more

The Harbor in Rockwall is a difficult place to judge. It looks great and I love the mixture of a commercial center with a movie theater, hotel and restaurants with a public park featuring a splash park for the kids and nice views of the lake. There also is a lovely fountain area though the fountain is often turned off. From the stand point of a diner the best part of the Harbor are the large patios facing lakeside. This seems like a great place to eat and drink oneself into oblivion on a nice spring or fall or this year even winters day. I'm not a boat guy but if I was I would be impressed how you can park your boar right there and traveling between the series of bars and restaurants on Lake Ray Hubbard. All this makes it sound like the Harbor should be get five starts but there are a couple of major problems. The first one is that if you are not eating or going to the movies there is not much to do here. There are amazingly few retail shops and as such The Harbor should not be thought of as a 'shopping center' more of a dining and entertainment complex. I like all the restaurant space here but for someone wishing to relax the day away there should be window shopping and even regularly shopping to do here. There are a few stores but they are mostly small specialized kind of places. The lack of retail is not surprising as there is so much retail just on down I-30 in Rockwall but still there is so little here it shocked me. The second problem is that despite a few smaller chains or even one or two independent places to eat, the Harbor is dominated by many of the same DFW Chains one can get anywhere in North Texas. These are not bad chain places, in fact such eateries as Glorias and Luna de Noche or great chains, I would still like to see more unique places. The appearance of a Ruby Tuesdays would be of no note many other places but there are very few in the DFW area so in fact Ruby Tuesday's is a place that is distinctive in the Harbor. If you are in Rockwall and want a simple dinner and a movie, this has to be the best place to go. It is also likely a five star place to get off the road to spend a night at the hotel. This place sure beats your average motel with a fast food place in the parking lot but overall the Harbor needs more places to shop and more personality. The last half of that statement could be made about so many suburban developments. This is a 3 and 1/2 star place, so I guess I'm feeling generous today. read more

Bring your parents, your bff, your children, your dog, your pastor, your boy toy, your grandparents - its literally a fun place for anything that breathes :) Great restaurants with amazing food and drinks. There are a few good restaurants here but the parking is horrible and most of the shops are empty. Do NOT use the Valet service. They lost the keys to our car, actually they left them in another vehicle and left our car unlocked. It didn't seem to phase them that they didn't have our keys. Luckily we have a second set of keys. They acted like they were doing us a favor by sending out a text to everyone who used their service telling them to bring our key back. Luckily a nice and honest person returned our key around 11:30pm. We will never use the valet service again. read more

I'm a rockwall resident. I hate the harbor. The parking is terrible. I refuse to give my money to any of these businesses because the valet dominates the best parking spaces. Every other place in the world puts the valet cars somewhere in the back. Its ok if you go during a weekday because nobody is there. There harbor doesn't have anything special. I have mixed feeling about the harbor Like Xuan said it's very gorgeous here and i have and would recommend taking a date here. there are alot of restaurants and bars, there is a coldstone creamery and a coffee shop so the choices are not limited. There is a great walkway by the lake with fountans a bridge that goes over a small part of the lake, and a small light house you can walk out to and enjoy the view. On the other hand it is in rockwall and if your not from around there you might not understand why i dont like that. Rockwall has been growing so fast the last ten years or so and it has just gottin really packed latly. If you go out to the harbor on a weekend im just saying you will be swamped with a crowd and tons of adolescents. Besides that i like the area and the scenery right off the lake. I would deffenitly check it out if you dont mind i little walk from the parking lot read more

The most beautiful place to go for dinner, music and romantic sunsets.

Such a pretty location with potential, but the place is downright vacant. The 3 primary restaurants there are barely holding on to 2.5 star yelp reviews. The parking is awkward as everything in the harbor faces the lake, but you park behind it. There's honestly more to do at Bass Pro across the lake than there is in the entire Harbor. read more

I don't shop here and I don't eat here very often. I go to the movies here only because I get free movie passes from work. I go to some of the summer concerts, but the crowd seems more into themselves than the music. The parking is a nightmare unless you go for a late night movie. The location is PERFECT for pictures, but it's usually swarming with bratty kids. read more

I absolutely love the Harbor in Rockwall! There could be a little more shopping ... but two really fun places to go are Gloria's and En Fuego. My husband and I usually go to Gloria's and sit outside taking in beautiful view of the lake as we dine al fresco. They specialize in Salvadorian food but I love their Tex Mex Combination #1. Um mm you get a little bit of everything! The moment you walk in they treat you like family and service there is exceptional! After lunch/dinner at Gloria's we head over to a really cool cigar shop En Fuego. My husband says the prices are a little higher than some places, but the atmosphere is cozy upscale with fireplace, plasma TV and comfy leather lounge chairs, It's BYOB...but they usually offer free wine as well. He is a real cigar affection ado and this place rates really high for him. Vast selection in the humidor and the owners are very friendly and helpful. read more

The only reason why the harbor is still open is because of the movie theater a good view And the Hilton Other than thatThis place is horrible most of it is abandoned and places are always closing I've been up there and seen fights happen for 25-30 minutes nothing happens random bystanders have to step in And the times I've seen security they mostly just hang out in one spot in front of the chocolate factory one time I did speak to them and the big guy told me we needed to start messing around because we might go to jail and people get raped in jail and another time a drunk guy at his wedding in the Hilton which was in an area that was open for everybody in the harbor to C and he came running at me and my friends claiming that we were flicking his kids off through the window He was saying things like I'm a make you a man and clearly drunk and wanting to fight us and at the time we were only 13-15 years old no security was in sight cops had to come and handle things The concert on the lake are pretty good a lot of people in their 50s too late 40s though not a crowd for young people at all I've seen so many fights happen here and nobody even cared probably because most of the areas are completely abandoned and nobody is around to do anything super weird vibes from this place read more

I've been there many times and shops and restaurants come and go . Super nice when weather is good . Plan to get wet with sweat or rain . Can't keep up with shops times or change . Nice idea from getting a break off the water . Popular with home sales perks but not enough going on here . read more

If you want something sweet at the Harbor nothing is better than the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory across from Gloria's. It is absolutely amazing! I personally like the gourmet apples and my favorite is the Apple Pie Apple, but it is all good. read more

In the years since The Harbor opened I have been three times, each time hoping the place had improved, since I'd given it a multi-year break between visits. Each time I am disappointed. The Harbor, on my initial visit years ago was an anti-climactic yawn of a destination comprised of overly expensive eateries, a ridiculously expensive movie theater with poor service, & a few posh shops with such esoteric appeal they probably had a customer base of 6-7 people, each. Upon two subsequent visits, nothing has changed. The hike from the parking lot culminates in a shopping center with the eyesore of over 50% vacancy intermingled with the afformentioned overpriced businesses, bordered on one side by the romantic & tranquil sights/sounds of Interstate 30 (a closer walk than the parking lot) & some most-oft dried up/aground docks on Lake Ray Hubbard. None of which is worth the LONG walk from the parking area located in adjacent county. C'mon, Harbor economic development person(s). I want to like The Harbor. I feel most one-star reviewers do too. Give us a reason. Preferably reasonS. Fill the vacancies with all of (but not limited to) the following: a dueling piano bar like Louie's in Addison, a family comedy venue like the Sunday show at The Improv in Addison, a family & date night venue like Pocket Sandwich Theater in Dallas, an indoor trampoline park like JumpZone so kids have some place to be while parents go spend money at other businesses, an indoor flight simulator like at The Parks in Arlington, indoor skydiving like iFly in Frisco, lake vendors offering paddleboard lessons, sailing lessons, flyboarding since you are on the lake after all, an outdoor super slide kids. Those would add some appeal. read more
