To be clear, I'm not a vegan or a vegetarian. Consequently when I eat in a vegan restaurant I'm trying to find a substitute for something. So take my opinions as just that. My first course was a wonderful Greek salad with green goddess dressing. It was fabulous. The homemade green goddess was really tasty. Next came a charcuterie plate. The salami substitute was not to my liking but the veggies and fruit were perfectly fresh. I ordered eggs Benedict on biscuit as an entree. Here's where things get hard for me. The egg substitute didn't taste like eggs. The Hollandaise sauce just wasn't there. The substitute Canadian bacon was very tasty but didn't taste like Canadian bacon. The biscuit was very dense. Did I eat it? For sure, it just wasn't eggs Benedict. As a sidebar, my wife had banana bread French toast and it was exquisite. The side of "sausage" was not only the best substitute of the day, it was really good. Both taste and texture were wonderful. Dessert looked great and my fellow diners enjoyed it. I'm diabetic so refrained. The service was flawless. The wait staff were friendly, helpful, and cheerful. The interior is welcoming. I would suggest a seat cushion here or there to accommodate us old men with no natural padding. The overall experience was great. read more

WOW!!! I am SO glad we worked with The Happy Bakery for our wedding! It was such a wonderful experience from the very beginning. Most other bakeries we looked into and tried samples from felt very impersonal (pick up your tasting box and let us know if you want to work with us), so the customer service and entire experience at The Happy Bakery really stood out in the best possible way. We went in to talk about our vision with Charlie, who then sketched up a design of a possible cake for us. She really helped us identify things we liked and wanted in our cake, and then beautifully translated those to an absolutely stunning cake design! Charlie was so sweet and fun and really just a delight to work with from the very start. We later went in for an in-person cake tasting. Every flavor we tried was phenomenal, so it was a difficult decision, but ultimately we went with Death By Chocolate and Coconut. YUM!!! All our guests LOVED the cake. We also did some gluten-free cupcakes in the same flavors so everyone could partake in dessert; these were also phenomenal! We could barely tell the difference between the gluten free and the regular, which is really saying a lot! Charlie was awesome in explaining to us about the differences between gluten free and regular, and it was so easy to accommodate all our guests' dietary restrictions since this is a plant-based bakery. Our cake was honestly the best cake I've ever had! I am already thinking ahead to holidays and birthdays and looking for excuses to order another cake from them because it was THAT good!!! And the final cake was absolutely stunning to look at. I wish I'd spent more time admiring it, to be honest! In summary, we love love love this bakery (and I'm more than a little sad it's not closer so I can get goodies from them all the time). THANK YOU Charlie and Happy Bakery team!!! I wanted to love this place but the staff are terrible!!! We gave it a second try today 11/20/21 and will not be back. All the staff there act like you are bothering them just by coming in and buying their food. Simply an awful experience on two different occasions. The Happy Bakery is amazing. Charlie the owner and chef puts her heart and soul into this small vegan business in the heart of O'Fallon. Today, I had the breakfast flatbread served with roasted potatoes and fruit. Additionally, I had an iced s'mores latte. The flatbread was perfectly prepared with lightly toasted garlic flatbread, piled with Just Egg scramble, melty Chao cheese, bacon, diced ham, green onion, and hollandaise sauce. Wowsa! The roasted potatoes on the side are heaven. The customer service is attentive and quick and they go the extra mile to get to know their customers. I live across the river and wish that I lived closer because the happy bakery is truly lovely! Everything I tried it was delicious, and they make almost everything in house. Everything is also vegan, which I love! Service was excellent and the bakery is in a house so it feels extra homey and comfortable. Like many people have said, place is amazing. I have ordered 2 birthday cakes already and just spectacular. I have also had a few different cupcakes and happy boxes. The flavors are so original and delicious. (Cherry limeade cake was soooooo good). There was a small snafu with 1 cake, but they went above and beyond to fix. They not only fixed, but improved it. I have went vegan in the last few months and I've been to what I thought was all the vegan restaurants and bakeries in the area. We stumbled on this place on Facebook this week..LET ME TELL YA SOMETHING! This is hands down THE best of all options in the metropolitan area! The staff is sooo friendly and welcoming. The owner is so sweet and knows so many of her customers on a first name basis. Their baked goods are sooo good! I always have to get a variety! Their scrambled tofu "eggs" are the best I've found yet! I seriously cannot stress enough how amazing this place is. AND being from Illinois I don't have to deal with the traffic and hassle of going to Missouri. We needs moooreeee of these in Illinois! Sooo good!! Recommend for everyone! read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. Charlie is so talented, she's a true artist. I've used her for cupcakes, cakes, and cookies but I've also had her meatless Mondays and her food is delicious too. She is super accommodating, and has not hesitated to make special order cupcakes for some of my daughters' friends who have dietary restrictions like gluten allergies. Oh! Recently exploring a vegan lifestyle so we came to check out the Happy Bakery....let me tell you that the bakery items we sampled were delicious! I guess they have new selections throughout the week... today we tried the savory bacon cheddar garlic scone! Delicious! My friend tried the cinnamon chip scone, and two other kinds of tasty muffins. Also, very good!!Highlights: a large selection of freshly baked goods, complimentary coffee today, friendly counter service, and a we were able to enjoy our items on the sunny patio!
