I am a vegan and I'm always looking for vegan finds in the area. There are many options in St. Louis, but in Illinois there are not as many places around. I have had their sweets (cupcakes, cookies and the like), and they are all delicious. I am getting married this summer and I'm seriously considering having them make my wedding cake. On Facebook they look so beautiful and delicious. They also have a brunch on the weekend which I have not been to yet, but I am looking forward to going soon. They also do a lunch every week day which I am not able to do because I work and I'm not able to leave for lunch, but maybe this summer I will go and check it out. read more

THE HAPPY BAKERY IS A SCAM!!! First, they are in a HOUSE not a real building like a civilized bakery would be. Next, they forced my entire party to park in the back in one of THREE parking spots. Not to mention two of the spots were taken by god knows who. Then, after almost crashing into a dumpster trying to squeeze in between the two huge cars, we had to walk TO THE FRONT OF THE STORE. Then after emotionally being traumatized from the parking situation, we walked to the front excited to give a new O'Fallon bakery a try. BIG MISTAKE!!! Upon reaching the front door, they said they were CLOSED!! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! They did NOT have a large sign or even a post on their website which I looked at MOMENTS before we decided to go there. The signs was in sharpie!!! SHARPIE!!! HOW UNCIVILIZED!!! So, the happy bakery has lost 3 customers. And the only emotion they evokes out of me was RAGE!!!! read more

The owner is friendly and can be pretty accommodating with dietary needs. The lunch/brunch is always more than delicious. The portions are big, without being ridiculous. The prices are reasonable, except for the special order desserts (they seem high, but maybe that's standard price). As far as food, there are 1-2 options every week. This would work if there were a monthly calendar letting you know what's on the menu. Otherwise, you have to wait until the night before. I understand that it is a small business and if someone is sick, there's no one to run it or the hours are limited to not work them to death, but I find you need to check the Facebook page before going, to be sure they're open. The gluten free desserts are actually very good! The ones I've tried previously were just disappointing. I'm 'happy' to know I can come here to satisfy my sweet tooth...after eating a healthy meal there. Lol read more

Tried their brunch for the first time today and I literally ordered five different things for my table and all of it was tasty. My husband (an omnivore) tried the leftovers a few hours later and agreed. The pasta salad and breakfast burrito were both amazing, and I enjoyed some coffee from their cute coffee station. The interior of this restaurant/bakery is really cute and cozy and there is a nice seating area on the porch. I drove past this place on accident and had to turn around because the signage wasn't real big and it seemed to be nestled into more of a residential zone than a commercial zone like you'd expect. Hopefully they grow out of it and into a bigger place--from what I've tasted it won't be long! I also took advantage of the buy 5, get 1 free cupcake deal and bought 6 different flavors to sample them all. So far I've tried 2 and the icing was creamy and sweet and the cake was so moist. I'm definitely ordering from this bakery for future parties! And I will definitely be back for brunch! (And to try their new loaded spuds!) read more

For my husband's promotion I was looking for something different instead of the standard Air Force promotion cake. I had the idea of a Toy Story Woody cake and brought it to Happy Bakery to see what they could do and they knocked it out of the park. During the consult, she listened, saw the vision, help add to it and helped pick out the perfect flavors for both tiers. When we saw the cake, I did not want to cut it, it was so perfect. Sometimes when cakes look so good on the outside, they lack flavor on the inside, but this was so not the case. The top tier was Tahitian vanilla bean and the bottom tier was dark chocolate raspberry and both were moist and full of flavor. This cake was the highlight of my husband's promotion. The cake did not last long but the memory will. Thank you Happy Bakery for making the day so special. As long as we are here, this will be the only bakery we will use and recommend. read more

My favorite baker, hands down. We purchased from The Happy Bakery from her sidewalk sale and were hooked. Ordered my sons Paw Patrol birthday cake and I was so impressed with the creativity. Charlie has the best imagination and even came up with the great idea of making one of the layers of his cake a white cake with black flecks to look like a dalmation! I can't imagine going anywhere else. You can't go wrong ordering from the Happy Bakery! read more
