If you love the concept a fancy food court, this is somewhat up your alley. Not a food court to be exact, but somewhat a same concept. Just minutes away from the Long Beach airport, this place is a great spot for hanging and food. A decent size space with different food stalls. A good selections of items ranging from something fast and simple to more of a sit down dining experience. You could walk around and see what there is to offer. Toward the back of the place depending on what side you enter, there's also a bar. Serving up drinks with your meal. Some vendors that sells souvenirs and apparel. Beside this area, there's loads of others restaurants nearby. Seating can be limited insides but there's loads of tables and seating outside. A nice grassy area which does have events hosted. There's plenty of parking as it's part of an outdoor strip mall. A place that's worth checking out and seeing what vendors are there. read more

This is a cool little food Hall just down the street from the Long Beach Airport. Of course it looks like it's in a hanger, but if you go out into the other side you'll see there's lovely grounds with patio seating. There's a cool fountain surrounded by tall poles with metal airplanes on top. The sidewalk leading up to the doors is painted like a runway, and there is a board that looks like an arrivals) departures board. There are several counters with choices of several items. There's also a bar and a few seating areas. We each grab something from a different counter - - I got a bulgogi bowl, my son got a sandwich, and my husband got a gyro. The food was good. Nothing spectacular but good. This is one of those places that's great to come if you have a family and everybody wants something different. After walking through the Hangar food court, I settled on Marinate Korean BBQ location. I was intrigued by the Bulgogi Burrito since I'm a fan of burritos. For $20 the burrito was a nice size burrito. Full of spicy pork, kimchi, fried egg, rice and I added corn and jalapeño. This was fantastic! Flavors mixed well and the hot sauce I added on the side had a nice flavorful spicy kick to it. Very enjoyable and something exciting to try new. Hangar is large and spacious with plenty of inside and outside seating. A bunch of great looking locations to eat at. I see why it is popular. Such a great variety of small businesses and great food options. Great for family fun with the kids because of the grassed area outside. We've eaten at most of the restaurants. I love the Empanada place and their Alfajor cookies. I picked a bag Yerba Mate there. It's called Parana. I've enjoyed the Poke Bowls at the Hangar and we got a killer sandwich and garlic fries at The Kroft. Theres a bar at The Hangar. You can grab a beer and chill with your food at the tables inside or outside. Bathrooms are available inside. Once you're done you can go to a ton of shops and restaurants at this outside mall. Your bubble girl reviewer (peanut, tree nut, and seafood allergy) did not have an allergic reaction here. But always tell the staff about any allergies! We tried a few places, but it looks like some new ones are about to open soon. At Marinate we tried the popcorn chicken and got the sauces on the side (a hack so that the chicken stays crispy). We got three sauces. The first was habanero and it had a good kick, definitely spice forward. Second sauce was the sweet and sour, which I liked to pair with the habanero so give it some spice. Third was a sweet orange sauce, which was a little too sweet for me. The chicken was battered and very crispy. At The Kroft, we had the Wagyu Spicy Jack Smash Burger. It had wagyu beef patties, slices of spicy jack cheese, grilled onions, candied bacon, sauteed mushrooms, roasted jalapeno garlic mayo on a brioche bun. The wagyu patties were perfectly crispy on the outside. This was my favorite, out of the food we got. At Tenori we got the spam musubi, it was actually a good ratio of spam and rice! My biggest complaint of most spam musubi's is that there is way too much rice and the thinnest slice of spam. But that wasn't the case this time! The vibe is really cool because it's aviation themed and was built on former McDonnell Douglas/Boeing aircraft manufacturing land. There's a decent amount of seating inside, and more outside. 3.5 Star Overall. Very poor to zero internet connection on your cell phone while inside the building, biggest inconvenience. However, they do provide free WiFi access within. Plenty of parking - some right along the street, or in their large parking lot. Convenient cluster of restaurants to choose from with open seating. Depending on what you feel like eating, they have quite a variety to choose from. Most restaurants give you a pager to notify when your food is ready, so the service is convenient while you can walk around to shop for other food. We ending up getting poke bowl, beef skewers, a burrito, and some other stuff. Interior decor is comfortable and welcoming. Has an open and chilled vibe. Would I come back again? Maybe. No restaurant stood out too much, but they're not bad either. (Actually, the $13 Beef tenderloin skewer was really really good, but then again, those small 6 bites of meat cost more than a whole giant burrito I got.) I think I'd try to explore other options first before circling back to this place. read more

Had a mini reunion with some college friends and decided to meet at The Hangar. Sat on the patio and rearranged the tables to accommodate 15 people. No one seemed to mind. It wasn't too crowded for a Sunday evening as there were more than enough tables and chairs left. Everyone in our group who visited said they really liked the variety of food options so much so that they had a difficult time choosing where to eat. What's also great is that there are other merchants nearby to grab food, drinks and dessert and still congregate at The Hangar. We stayed a little past closing and were not rushed to leave. If you want a place to eat and shop and enjoy the outdoors, The Hanger in Long Beach is the place. Inside of the hanger there are several eateries Ike's sandwiches, sushi, Wagyu, poke, and whole lot more. Service is quick and easy. There's also a place for ice cream. Hansel's ice cream is located on the outside of the hanger across the street in this area. There are also shops such as Old Navy, TJ Maxx, Ulta, and Nordstrom Rack. There's also a smaller size Whole Foods market and next-door is PetSmart. It's practically a one stop shopping. The only downside to this place is because it's near an airport. However, if youre willing to walk, they have a bunch of spots across the way in the shopping center. They host mini small business shops just outside, and people are super friendly. Inside, think of it like a food court. Very similar to Anaheim Packing District. There are tables and chairs all throughout the venue. They also have little shops full of merchandise as well. Parking was absolutely fisted, not even because of the event but because all of the normies and families getting dinner. It's aviation style so it's like Smokejumper's Grill in DCA, but more modern and not as neat in my opinion. I came here with 13 other people (including children), and we were able to find a bite from a variety of restaurants that satisfied everyone's cravings. There's options like tacos, poke, spicy chicken sandos, açaí bowls, burgers, poutines, Japanese onigiri, and plenty of brews to choose from. There's also an outdoor area where you'll see families hanging out and kids running around. This was perfect for our kids to get their energy out after grabbing a bite. For dessert, there's Handel's ice cream and tastea available. If you feel like shopping, you can walk across the parking lot to shop at Ulta, TJ Maxx, Old Navy and Nordstrom Rack. The Hanger LBX is a food hall that offers an array of food and drink options! We like grabbing different entrees from different restaurants and eating family style so we can try new foods without breaking the bank! There are also a few places that offer beer and wine. Prices are generally fair though I personally think some vendors lean slightly pricey... The service varies by stall but I've never had any major issues. It's new, modern, way bigger and more bustling than I expected. It was chill at 4 pm Sat and then it turned 6 pm and bam! It was so busy (which is a good thing!) It's like a mini mini pikes market. Or like a food hall in Chicago. I guess food hangars and halls are common now. As far as they go, this LBC one impressed. It had an airplane theme all throughout, even with little displays in the middle, and plenty of food options and a pour stall (a must). Not a lot of noodle options but you get a generic representation of food. The wagyu stall is a nice touch. There's also a Chinese bar? That was closed.... but looks interesting from the outside. This place is just lacking a dedicated trendy dessert spot imo. But plenty of seating, good vibes, fun food options including chains like the Kroft, and dogs everywhere! I LOVE a dog friendly place that lets the dogs in to chill. Plenty of free parking, and everyone uses toast for rewards points which makes it easy. We hit up 4 stalls and service was fast. Is the food mind blowing? Naw. But is this a very chill and vibey food hall to hang out in? ABSOLUTELY. Come here on a Saturday for pours and food with friends. Also, the hangar is part of a larger new plaza that has all the typical big Plaza gathering things these days. You've got petsmart and tjmaxx and more restaurants, bars, and dessert stores once you venture into the plaza. The whole place is nice and very walkable. Plenty of food options altogether. Also nice green areas for community strolling/people playing and dogs frolicking. Great vibes. Some girl was singing indie songs on her guitar and sounded great. I am pretty surprised that I never reviewed this. I have eaten at the Kroft. They have a really good smash burger. It is very clean and classy inside. The quad type grass area in front looks really pretty. The only issue is parking. Very poor planning on making enough parking. A few gyms surrounding the hangar take up all the parking. This was my first time here and it was so cute inside! There are plenty of food spots inside as well as surrounding the building as well. Parking was fairly easy for how crowded the parking lots were. Plenty of seating available and there a small bar with a few TVs as well. This is a cute spot if you're looking for variety and something quick! There is also outside seating available and as we were leaving today, live music. So darn cute!! We tried the birria tacos and street tacos today with a cucumber agua Fresca which was all SO bomb! I also tried the tuna mayo onigiri, which was different, but super yummy and filling! This is a great shopping experience with many mainstream stores as well as small businesses. They do have a great food Hall as well. Many events are offered here on the weekends and I went during the Grinchmas event. There's also many opportunities for Health and wellness. There's a spa, gym, and yoga studio as well. The TJ Max is huge and fun to sit through. Overall, I'm happy to have found this place. I normally shop in OC. You can bring your kids to run around and play on the open grass area as well as walk your dogs. There all kinds of different varieties of food to chose from. They even have breakfast, coffee, deserts. Great customer service and it's a very clean big space. On the weekends there is a lot happening, at times they have a band that plays music and also they even have pop-up events where you can purchase or try samples of foods, buy foods, bags.. You can walk further out to the parking lot and shop at the retail stores, pet shop, banks, more fast foods. I went last Saturday to eat here. We chose it so that each person could get whatever food each person craved. We ate at one of the places at the end of the hangar we had the Wagyu steak bowl with garlic rice it was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and we were lucky to get a table as well. They were having an outdoor market and a Zumba class outdoors. We were also lucky to find parking the entire place was packed with people. I will definitely return! read more

The overall ambiance of the hangar has always been great. Plenty of seating both inside and outside. My friend and I had gone on a Thursday evening and it was actually pretty packed, perhaps because it is summer time. I got the bulgogi burrito from Marinated KBBQ which tasted delicious. Beware the orange sauce that comes with is spicy though! The Hanger at LBX has a unique history. It is a 17,000 square foot structure, built to remind of an aviation hangar where planes were built, on this very location. As expected, it is close to the Long Beach Airport (which also has a rich aviation history, celebrating its 100th birthday last year, making it the oldest airport in California), with a varied collection of different businesses around the area. This attracts a large lunchtime crowd, and makes finding parking in all the surrounding surface lots, a challenge. We came for lunch on a Wednesday, and it was a very mixed lunch crowd with some tourists and families, but the vast majority being technology office workers taking a lunch break from nearby businesses (saw quite a few SpaceX polos walking around). There are 14 shops here, all of them being local restaurants or chains. We ended up stopping in for two of them. As expected for a food hall in this age, there was a prominent beer shop front and center. It's called bottlecraft, and has a large bar along with a decent amount of taps. They are unusual in their offered sizes (4 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz.)....but they also had taps that I had not seen before (like Pliny the Elder). I naturally went for the middle size, but then realized it's smaller than expected. So got a 16 oz of the Two Coast Hefeweizen from Two Coast Brewing in Gardena (16 oz for $8). It was very good, refreshing. I realized you could create your own beer table (six 4 oz for $18 which is a good price for the quality of beer being served). Checkout their current beer list...you could make a nice, varied "flight". read more
