If the rest of the world was run like the Hampton Maid restaurant....oh what a pleasure each day would be! How do they do it? Consistent deliciousness, lovely setting, happy servers...and the food always arrives HOT, no small feat for this fantastic spot. This a a place run by 3 generations of a family and the quality of the experience reflects that. No it's not cheap but this is where "you get what you pay for" really applies. It's only opened seasonally so call or check their website not to be disappointed. And get there early..it's POPULAR!! read more

Seasonal - celebrity heaven on the summer weekends from the Governor to movie and film stars... They can afford to pay the pricey menu items...don't think breakfast should cost an arm and a leg. read more

In the summer, it's hard to get in, but they make a great breakfast.

Except for the unfriendly waitress who visibly rolled her eyes at our "crazy" requests like hot sauce and water, the breakfast here is excellent. It came out hot and delicious, very well made. Sure, we are tourists, but we are friendly, polite tourists! read more

The best breakfast spot in the Hamptons. The food is prepared with all the freshest ingredients and their maple syrup is addicting. The staff always goes out of their way to be courteous and helpful. I love their mango pancakes! read more

Apple French Toast was delicious..mmm...Great breakfasts! I keep giving bad reviews for businesses and decided to lighten up and start giving out good ones for places I liked so here goes...perfect breakfast stop if you're traveling through the Hamptons or making a weekend getaway to Montauk, etc... read more

Awesome Hotel. Staff is so friendly and helpful. The breakfast is so delicious. Definitely come back.

An absolutely lovely place for a nice breakfast. We've been coming to this venue for in excess of 40 years. Always good, always delightful service, and always expensive. read more

At first, I was annoyed you can only order a prix fixe menu during weekend brunch - I like choices. Then I thought the price was a little too steep for that prix fixe they force you to order. However, once I tried the food, all that went away. It's worth every penny and then some. Not only was the food amazing, but they pay great attention to every little detail. Even the butter was phenomenal. I'm a convert. read more

Like all the rest of the reviews, I loved loved loved my breakfast. It was a little pricey but everything was superb from the service to the food. Definitely recommend if you are hungry for a great breakfast. read more

The food is always good. Service is good as well. There can sometimes be a long wait if it's a Saturday or Sunday morning. The menu is pretty simple, usual waffles pancakes, eggs. I had the cinnamon French toast and it was good. The atmosphere is nice, they have an outdoor porch in the back which is cute and cozy. Nice place, nothing really spectacular but always good. read more

The Hampton Maid - Cinnamon French toast with fresh strawberries - Hotels Near Me - Hampton Bays, New York

Best breakfast I've had in years!! Had to wait about 30 minutes for a table but after our meal, we understand why. The staff were all excellent and food was incredible. Best spot from our whole trip :) read more

Our favorite breakfast in Hampton Bays. Great setting really nice seating with a beautiful view of the bay nestled on pretty well kept property. Nice menu with good choices especially on the brunch prix fix. My husband likes getting his personal pot of coffee on the table. The berries, mango is always fresh and ripe. Closed in winter though unfortunately read more

Overnight guests at The Hampton Maid can expect a pleasant breakfast there. The food is fresh, the omelettes are excellent, the staff is adequate, and the setting, although a bit rustic, is comfortable enough and features some distant, partial water views of the nearby bay. Unfortunately, if one is not an overnight guest, the same may not be true. The restaurant's policy during the high summer season appears to be that the choicest seats at the several window and outside corner tables are to be held back for overnight guests who may want them later and not to be given to others, even those who reserve a table at the earliest available seating. These second class citizens pay the same but can expect to be seated in a far corner or by the door and denied a requested change to a better table, even in an empty restaurant. Now, The Hampton Maid has every right to establish its business policy in that manner, but perhaps it should put up a notice that goes something like this: SEATING PREFERENCE GIVEN TO OVERNIGHT GUESTS WHO ARE HERE NOW OR MAY COME LATER -- OTHERS TAKE WHAT YOU CAN GET. read more

We were just there our 4th year in a row. Great food, rooms, pool and staff. Can't wait till next year

Very nice hotel. Room was clean, spacious & comfortable. Was in the area for a funeral and they were kind to allow me to check in early to accommodate the view times at the funeral. Would have given 5 stars if there was a coffee maker in the room. The breakfast at their restaurant was excellent. read more

We recently stayed here for our wedding night. The suite we stayed in was beautiful. It was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The grounds are gorgeous. My brother also stayed here that night. His room was very nice. It was an older room but was beautiful in its own right. It was very quaint. The Hampton Maid helped cap off an amazing day. Special thanks go to the Poulakis family for being so helpful and being such a huge part of making our day perfect. read more

Went here for the first time, not a good impression at first since we were just standing there in the entrance and no staff from the counter bothered to even ask us if we were being help until we finally figured out that on the right side of the counter where the register is, is a tiny window-like staff-less opening where if you stand there for a few minutes, magically somebody will appear and get you a table. Will still give it 5 star since our waitress(Taylor, i believe her name was) was super friendly and attentive, food was amazing and fast. Will definitely reccomend this place for a amazing and tasty way to start your day! read more

Long wait because the food is so good. Make reservations and be prepared to get a huge home cooked breakfast. Wonderful!

waited over an hour for a table and still didn't get seated - do not believe them and don't waste your time with this place

I had a great breakfast here. The place was busy but we were seated right away. the atmosphere is clean and light and comfortable. The food was really good (and consistently as I have learned since). The blintzes are definitely worth a try. read more

Formidable! That means fantastic in French.....We ate outside on the patio and the weather, food and service was formidable. I was on vacation and I have to say that this was the best breakfast I had on my entire trip. I had the omelet with rye toast. read more

This is our #1 breakfast spot in the Hamptons. Quaint setting you can really relax here and feel like you are on vacation. We go here a lot in the summer usually on weekdays because weekends are very crowded. Everything I have ever ordered was delicious. My favorite menu item is their French toast consistently amazing. A little pricey but worth it!! read more

Nice place, but a forced prix fixe breakfast menu at $22.50 per person? I'm talking over $100 for breakfast for 4 people with the tip!! Are you kidding me? No option for a la carte ordering. Disappointed in that we had been there last year and there was no required price-fixed menu, and the prices were a bit high but not crazy, and the food was good. Hopefully the owners will come back to earth and offer a reasonably-priced, non price-fixed breakfast menu (if so, we'll go back!). read more

Our family has been coming here for 3 generations - and the service and quality have stayed exceptional. The breakfasts are very generous and delicious with lots of good daily specials. It;s great that they put a coffee carraf at the table so you always have hot coffee! The prices are worth every penny. read more

Why? Don't waste your money. The management are really rude, The food is sub standard at best, and over priced. Considering you can get so much more and better anywhere else in the area. It looks cute from the outside but don't be fooled. read more

I recently had the great good fortune of spending a vacation here with my sister (it was my pick and treat for her!). All the previous reviews are true to form; it was an exceptional place to stay. It is very clean and convenient for trips and excursions around the Hamptons (which we did every day). The front desk staff were lovely and gave us good advice on where to go and where to park for our convenience in Southampton (really great tip!). Enjoyed their pool immensely! I do recommend a weekday stay as it's more peaceful and less crowded than weekends. Had a wonderful experience at the Hamptons, and will most likely book here again next time I return! read more

Let me start off by saying that we have been coming here for over 20 years. The place is old and does have a charm to it, but after my stay this weekend I see it in a different light. First off, the rooms have not been renovated since I have been coming here. My room had visible roach traps under and around the fridge. On Friday night, we experienced a loss of water pressure and the toilet would not refill or flush. We called the front desk and got their answering machine. No problem, we left a couple of message to have them call our room. We never recieved a call back and our toilet bowl was about to overflow with urine and feces before the problem was corrected. Things happen, but to not call back a guest is unacceptable. The staff seems to have gotten snooty and unfriendly like the rest of the plastic face crowd in the Hamptons. On Sunday we went to have their so called famous breakfast which you can get at any diner for 1/3 of the price. It is now a $23 price fix, so you can't just order say a couple of bowls of oatmeal. You have to spend about $70 bucks for a breakfast for two. Most of the wait staff consists of slow moving lazy teenagers and our waitress spilled cranberry juice all over my wife and her designer bag. The glass broke and pieces of glass went all over. Our waitress was not apologetic at all and neither was the owners who were in the front office. We were extremely nice to the kid and told her not to worry, but she could not care less. When they came to clean it up, they tossed a wet rag on the table in front of my wife. There was glass and juice in my wife's breakfast and she gave it back and went back to the room to take a quick shower and change her clothes. She was very upset at their attitude to say the least. I did not finish my breakfast and asked for the check. To my dismay, they did not adjust the bill at all and tried to charge us for my wife's ruined breakfast. I told them to take it off because she could not eat it and the owner reluctantly did, but with a major attitude. They should have not charged us at all, but at the very least they should have taken something off-that is just good business. When we checked out an hour later my wife went to the front desk to say how disappointed she was at their reaction to the incident, and I can not tell you how rude and nasty they were! In addition, the waitress lied and said that my wife spilled the juice. Please look at other places if you want to come to the Hamptons, because this place is going downhill fast. This is not the first thing to go wrong, we have been noticing a dropoff in The Hampton Maid and the staff for our last few trips here. Needless to say, this will be our last visit. Soyanara!! read more

This was my second visit to the restaurant. My first visit was about a year ago. As my first experience was okay, I decided to try the restaurant again. It was a rainy morning and the place was busy. There were no parking spots/handicap spots in the main lot. I took the last and only handicap spot in the east lot, which happened to be by the outdoor seating area. I will add that I have a permit for handicap parking. I walked in to the restaurant with my daughter and after a short wait, was greeted, ( I take that back), was approached by the hostess. She asked how many and I replied. She took off for a bit, ( I assumed to see where tables might be available.) When the hostess returned, she took checks from guests, sorted menus and then looked at me and said, "Oh, two right?" This woman never cracked a smile. She looked like she was angry to be there. Anyway, she brings us to a table for two which was outside. Let me say that it is was a damp and rainy day and she did not ask if I wanted to wait for a table to open up inside. She dropped the menus and started off toward the inside room. As I was with my daughter who was hungry, I said nothing and took the table. It was uncomfortable being outside on a rainy day, especially since they have metal chairs for seating on their deck. There was a table to my left/rear with guests that were seated by the spot where I parked. The hostess next returns to set tables up and while walking by asks me, in front of all the guests, to move my car. She stated that another guest was about to arrive and was in a wheel chair. She said she would appreciate me moving for this guest. She never said to move to the right of the spot making room for the guest, but rather to park in the employee lot across the way. I was taken back, especially since the patron had not yet arrived. Before I could respond, she blurted on that the person coming was in need of the access. I was about to say something, but did not want to make a scene. I moved my car thinking the person coming must really be in great need. if I were alone, I would have just left. After moving my car and getting wet, I returned to the table. After a while, the waitress finally arrived and took our order. We ordered a simple breakfast: pancakes, omelet etc. We waited about 40 minutes before the meal arrived. During that entire time no one came to our table. The waitress or assistants never refilled our water or asked if we needed anything. Finally the meal arrived. It was just "drop and go" style delivery. Breakfast was nothing special. Could have gotten hotcakes from the McDonald's drive through for a lot less. Waited another bit for someone to walk by so that I could ask for the check. I just wanted out of there as it was damp and I was now in pain. As you might have guessed, no patron ever arrived with a wheel chair. The handicap spot I was asked to move from remained empty the entire time I was there and someone was allowed to park to the side of the spot with no permit. So if you would like a mediocre meal and poor service, by all means eat here. If you require handicap parking, call ahead to see if the owner/hostess has reserved their handicap spot for patrons who may or may not arrive. From my experience, they are discriminant as to who is in most need and who gets the spot(s) they have available. Very unethical. As for the other reviews posted... Keep in mind that in this area there are few eateries that serve a sitdown breakfast. That explains the high ratings from the other reviews. No competition so to speak. read more

Yesterday my friend and myself had a great time in the Hampton maid for breakfast. We wanted to enjoy the view of gardens (suggestion of previous reviews) but we were sat inside the room and our server was really friendly, she could speak Spanish too and nicely recommended us the Hampton maid breakfast platter. We were provided of two half pieces of French toasts (one split slice of bread), a stack of three pancakes, some home fries, a couple of sausages, three to four slices of bacon, a couple eggs (at our choice), creamy butter and chilled natural juice. The coffee was good but could be better, but the other stuff was so good. I never saw any particle of grease in the plate, I felt the food was pretty fresh... It wasnt kept in the heat of chafers for hours...I could taste it. The account for two of those platters, some coffee and two juices was 46 what wasn't that bad, but it's a lil pricey. Even though that, I tipped cuz the experience worths it. read more
