We had a wonderful stay. The grounds are like a botanical garden. White moths fluttering, flowers in bloom, baby bunnies. Very convenient to Greenport which is a gorgeous maritime village with quaint shops, restaurants, ice cream parlors. Very convenient to vineyards. Shorecrest has their own beach on the sound and they supply chairs and umbrellas. Comfy bed. House has great historic character. Hope to return someday. read more

The accommodation was clean and nice. Free coffee and tea in the lobby. My one qualm about this bed and breakfast is that they refused to refund one of the nights of our stay. We had to leave early bc I tested positive for Covid and they would not refund the second night. Out of my control and we still had to pay for a night we didn't stay there. read more

This is our first experience at a b&b. It's awesome. Marilyn was the hostess of the most. She made sure I got wheat free breakfast every day. Wonderful breakfast every day. I was so very grateful all the special personal touches to our stay. Even though it winter time I can imagine how beautiful her well kept garden would be. Very good and clean facility. Breakfast is great as well and I would definitely return for location and comfort of facility. Few things worth mentioning - beach is across the main road. Bring your own umbrella that you can use for shade. The BB has good discount offers for a number of businesses such as wineries and restaurants in the area. Location is really quiet and innkeeper is super particular so just be ready to be quiet and to keep everything neat and tidy. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay at Shorecrest. Marilyn was very welcoming and cooked up a unique, delicious breakfast both mornings. Our package included a complimentary champagne picnic (we booked through living social) and we were impressed by everything it included. I also enjoyed meeting the other guests, but we appreciated the privacy, nice bedroom, and comfortable furnishings. There was tea available at all hours and a small room downstairs with books, a TV, and board games. The location of this B&B was ideal for us. We could see the water from our room and after only a short drive we were wine tasting. On that note, we had some great Long Island wines and will certainly be back soon. I'm definitely a fan of this place. The Shorecrest Bed & Breakfast is a great house to stay in if you're looking for a serene getaway in the North Fork. It's located close enough to Greenport for dinner and cocktails, and also has its own strip of the beach along the Long Island Sound. Marilyn, the innkeeper, is helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good, and sometimes she'll use tomatoes from her own garden in the back to make frittatas. She is well acquainted with other local tourist accommodations, like Dan with his deliver-anywhere/pick-up-anywhere bicycle rentals, and the ever-fantastic Jo-Ann with Vintage Tours. The house is beautiful, and each room has a nice vibe, almost New England like. It's a bit pricey as far as lodging goes, but certainly a good value compared to other viable Bed & Breakfast providers in the area. read more

I met Ike, the innkeepers dog, and he stole my heart. Other than Ike, these are the contenders for what I love most about this place: Marilyn: The innkeeper is a charming and smart and interesting person. She greeted me in the garden and showed me the chickens (fresh eggs!) and the grounds before we went inside. The house is a century old and she has decorated it perfectly. Sustainability: Other than the fresh eggs that come from the hens outside in the garden, Marilyn has two electric car charging stations and told me she is considering going solar. I immediately felt like she runs her place the way I would run it if I ever got the chance. (Ask to see the old photographs with the windmill in the backyard.) The experience: What can I say? The beds and the food and the wine and the gardens ... I felt like for the short time I was there that I was in another world, a world I love a lot more than my own :) Def will be back. read more

Marilyn was a gracious host and the B&B is very nice. There is access to a town beach across the street. We (my daughter and I) called at 11am to ask if we could park & use the beach and Marilyn gave us a tour and showed us our room right away. The breakfast was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Our room (West) had an ocean view and looked out into the beautiful gardens. It was cool (70 degrees), clean and the bed was very comfortable. Quiet and relaxing. I would recommend! read more

My wife and I stayed at Shorecrest last August for our 30th anniversary. We were looking for a local B&B where we could enjoy the east-end and the beach on a budget. This place was perfect. It's central enough where you can get anywhere easily, yet still avoiding the hustle. And yes, the beach is a bit rocky, like most north shore beaches, but so beautiful non-the-less. It is also very private. Not a single person walked by during our anniversary snacks and champagne on the beach. The proprietor, Marilyn, was gracious and accommodating. My fiancée and I just stayed there this past week. It was a Wednesday to Saturday trip. Marilyn, the owner was an absolute delight. We enjoyed our conversations with her. The location is fabulous. Shorecrest is literally across the street from the beach. We enjoyed this perk very much. The wineries are all between 5 and 10 minutes away. Shopping and restaurants are all within 10 minutes. We strongly recommend checking out Lavender by the Bay, another nice attraction nearby. The breakfast was unbelievable. Everything was very fresh. We really enjoyed the goat quiche and banana, nutella stuffed pancakes. Marilyn always had fresh baked cookies and tea served, in a nicely decorated area of the entrance room. Her fresh mint ice tea was a winner. The entire house is a gorgeous mansion. Every detail makes it stunning. We stayed in the Rose room, which has a nice sized Jacuzzi .The room was beautiful and always spotless. The bed was so comfortable; we enjoyed afternoon naps with the nice breeze that entered the room through the windows. Out favorite room by far was the screened in outdoor room. It was very relaxing. Lastly, Shorecrest is an extremely trust worthy place to stay at. I misplaced my Michael Kors watch. I realized this when I had left the B and B. I called Marilyn to notify her. She and her staff went crazy looking for it. I ended up finding it a day after in one of my bags. Marilyn was extremely helpful and always in contact. It's something we greatly appreciated. Recently had a wonderful weekend in the North Fork staying at the Shorecrest. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking to have a quiet getaway on Long Island. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated with a amazingly comfortable bed. All the breakfasts were delicious and gave us a great start to a day of wine tasting. The B&B is conveniently located off a major road with quick access to many, many vineyards and Greenport for an evening out. Marilyn, the innkeeper, has a great understanding of the area. Shorecrest also has beach access, which is great for a morning walk. Would come back again in a heart beat! read more

I stayed here the night before and of my wedding. I decided to splurge and stay at a nice B&B to make my already happy experience as relaxing and soothing as possible. The house is lovely, the breakfast was delicious, the guests were pleasant, but I will never stay here again. In fact, it made me question the enjoyability of a B&B all together. The proprietess was less than pleasant to me and, in fact, went off the deep end on my wedding day (!) when I had enough to worry about, acted very unprofessionally, and put a pall over me, my family, and brides-maids right before I went to the church. At issue was the fact that we were taking pictures there, and even though I had discussed this with her in the morning, when plans could have been changed if she was unhappy about this, she chose to yell at my mother at the time of. The night before I was late in checking in because of my rehersal dinner and she was very cold and not-understanding about these things, insisting that it was a private residence and implying that I was being selfish and inconsiderate. I should have stayed at a hotel. I had decided on a B&B to avoid home drama, but what I got was a scene that has left me reeling, even two months later. It was like staying at home when I was 15- that cloud of Mom being mad and having to sneak around. Needless to say, I will be staying in hotels from now on, where things may be impersonal, but where that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm sure the rest of the guests' stays were fine, I would just avoid this place if you are planning any thing important to you. read more

Went during the week for a girls' night. Location is great which is why I chose it. Also the rooms are nicely decorated in my opinion - no country farm decor. However Madelyn the Innkeeper was not very friendly until we were leaving the next morning. She seemed annoyed that we booked 2 rooms the day before (giving her over $400 in business) and her hospitality was quite disappointing since we could've booked a hotel for much cheaper. If we were not the only ones in the B&B I would have been more upset that our lock to our bedroom was a fake lock and the door was not really secured at all. Also, our bathroom toilet paper was already near the end point when we arrived and we ran out in the middle of the night with no other rolls in sight! Breakfast was good but it took quite a long time to be prepared (not at 9am which she said). I'm sure there are much friendlier hosts at other places. read more

For my fiance's birthday, I booked a weekend stay at the Shorecrest Bed & Breakfast. Neither of us had every stayed at one before and we thought it would be a cool experience. I have to say at first I was apprehensive because it is someone's house. (Like I said, I have never been to one nor I have I ever even looked into what they are) The house itself is amazing. We both love old architecture and they style of the house is really amazing to look at. The property is gorgeous, the location allows you views of the Sound and it truly is very quiant. Marilyn, the Inn Keeper is a doll. She is so sweet and so welcoming it really helped us to become more comfortable with the idea of staying there. We stayed in the Southwest Room which is decorated beautifully. The breakfast both mornings were delicious! The presentation, just everything about it was absolutely wonderful. I felt like royalty there. We are already making plans to go back. Overall, this place is a definite must-stay for a romantic weekend getaway. We had an amazing time! read more

My wife & I spent two nights, in late Sept., for our 35th wedding anniversary. We have stayed in quite a few B&Bs & our experience here was the most memorable! First of all, the location & surroundings can't be beat. I was looking for a place on (near) the water and this exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the West Room w/water views across the street. After a full-day of activities, we took the path to the private beach & enjoyed a glass of wine; while watching picture-perfect sunsets. Marilyn, the owner, is the ultimate hostess. We felt welcome from the moment we arrived, as she gave us a tour of her home along with guest information. Her love of interior design can be seen with attention to detail in all rooms of the house, each decorated with unique period furnishings. Having breakfast in the formal dining room, on elegant china set with fresh flowers & candelabras, made us feel like royalty. Homemade, delicious entrees included French toast, eggs & bacon and fresh fruit w/yogurt & granola. Note: Coffee & muffins or breads are available an hour before breakfast. Also, during the afternoon & evening you'll find tea & sweet "treats" too. This was our first trip to North Fork & the location was perfect for visiting wineries, shops and only a 10-minute drive to several fine restaurants in Greenport. A 1800's farmhouse which has been converted to a B&B. The owner is friendly owner. The breakfasts are great. There are two private beach areas available. Pricing is comparable with the hotels in Riverhead. The only criticism is that the mattress could be more comfortable. read more

I surprised my wife with a weekend get away to the Shorecrest for our anniversary. I could not have been more pleased. The house was perfectly located near the water which I could see from my room. We checked in at 3 P.M. and were greeted by Marilyn personally, she was polite and cordial and showed us to our room. She took the time to explain the details of what there was to do in the area, and provided us with a discount voucher to a local restaurant. We chose The Frisky Oyster in Greenport and despite the eccentric name had the meal of our lives. I could not have asked for more with a stay and am pleased to say that i will be returning to the North Fork in due time. I would highly recommend this B&B to those who are looking for something that is more then just another Hotel. Not to mention the breakfasts which are included with the room rates are out of this world. Most certainly a place I would recommend to my fellow travlers. read more
