I absolutely adore the Hampton Maid! My family has been coming here for years now. Leslie, the restaurant manager, has always made us feel so welcome and made such an impression on my grandmother . Not only are the rooms beautiful to stay in for any occasion, but breakfast in the cafe is so delicious. This is such a quaint, quintessential Hampton Bays place. Highly recommend for a hotel stay, breakfast, or dinner at the new R.Aire restaurant.

Went to eat here for dinner. The paella tasted the same as when I was in Spain. All the food tasted very similar to that of when I also ate it in Spain. Friendly staff and a very peaceful atmosphere for those who don't like the noise.

What we ordered | Pink Paradise Mimosa ($13) | Nova Benedict ($22.5) Taste | their mimosa was good. mostly tasting the strawberry and pineapple flavors. the nova benedict (salmon benedict) was delicious. good amount of hollandaise sauce and just a solid benedict that I enjoyed. Service | our server and hostess was okay. we had to follow up on some of the drinks we ordered. Parking | hotel parking Notes | our group of 9 had a reservation to eat her on Sunday morning. it was pretty busy where they only had bar seating available when we arrived for folks.

R.AIRE at The Hampton Maid has a cottage-y vibe on the outside and is light'n'airy on the inside, which is what permits their prices to be higher than that of a standard American diner. Service was friendly and attentive and the food was pretty good, but it was not amazing. We ordered coffee and orange juice ($4.00 for maybe 6 ounces of obviously not-fresh-squeezed OJ) to start, followed by the special Homemade Corned Beef Hash (2 eggs, toast, home fried potatoes) and the Stack of Pancakes. I will note that the syrup that came with the pancakes was warmed, which was a nice touch.

I don't know where to start. I booked this place as a night away for myself to relax. I didn't have any expectations. As soon as I walked into the reception and was greeted with a huge smile I knew I was onto something good. It's not glam but EVERYTHING you would need in a hamptons night away. It's not pretentious but still has a "hamptons vibe". It took 10 mins to drive into Southampton. The rooms are so clean and comfortable. Very well decorated. They have a K Cup machine. There is a huge grassy area with a corn hall area and a playground for children. The pool area is clean and enough beds for all with a bonus of towels. The restaurant and bar are bright and airy and the margarita is as made to perfection. The chef came out while I was there and was so smiley and friendly. I seriously can't think of a better place to stay in the Hamptons, than the Hampton Maid Motel. Make you reservations now. The staff from front desk to chef were all straight to greet me. Not sure I would stay anywhere else.

Cuisine: 8 Service: 7 Decor: 8 Value: 7 Overall: 8 As if in a storybook, walking into this little cottage-like restaurant on a Saturday morning feels very magical. From the cute exterior that makes me think of the woodland residence of Goldielocks and the Three Bears. Now, if only they served porridge ... ... Actually, the food they do serve is quite fantastic. Our party of four only ordered the Kielbasa with Two Eggs from the regular menu. That's because the specials looked so interesting. We requested Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Green Eggs N' Lamb, and Homemade Corn Beef Hash. Oh yeah, we had some Fresh Baked Scones and side of Kielbasa for the table too. We shared a little bit of everything and can honestly say that I loved 80% of what my mouth tasted. Lamb was super tender and flavor, especially with the pistachio pesto sauce. Pancakes were fluffy, and that zest of lemon freshness makes it amazing. The kielbasa was delicious and not too oily. Scones were a bit different in texture than what I am use to, but still tasty. My only real complaint would be that the corn beef hash had too much potato and not beefy enough. As for service, everyone was very friendly and had a smile. However, often at times, it felt like we couldn't get anyone's attention. Still good overall. Also, before we left, we walked through their cute gift shop that had some really neat stuff. All in all, the experience was very charming and we will return when given the chance.

Pancakes weren't as good as the French toast

Came for breakfast on a Monday morning and didn't have to wait long for a table; however, they didn't seem too happy that I didn't have a reservation. The French toast was WAY better than the pancakes and the potatoes tasted a little burnt, but everything was very fresh and the place was clean.

Today we finally had the idea to go to the Hampton Maid for breakfast. I have been wanting to get here for some time and finally had the right at the right time. The Hampton Maid inn sits up a small hill on the north side of Montauk highway just rest of the canal in Hampton Bays. You immediately get this feeling that you are at a lodge somewhere on Lake George, if you ever went to LG, you know what I am talking about. Now this place had some reputation, so plan ahead. They take no reservations (unless lager party of 10+). We arrived at 10:45 and had an hour wait.....but that's ok, this place is awesome and worth the wait. They are open only until 1 pm. For breakfast, we had an assortment of juice as Sarah, our waitress just brought to us after taking our order. The place was packed and we knew that there would be a little delay in getting our food, but it is so worth it. Each dish was too hot to touch, as they were placed on the table. We ordered egg white omelettes, I had the cheddar and bacon omelette (toast included) and a short stack and French toast as well. All the food was delicious and enjoyed completely!!! This was an awesome first time and I will be back again, probably during the week our especially the off season. The close on November and open again in April. Sarah, our waitress was excellent!!!

They sent 6 meals that looked like they were left overs . They were all missing the potato's. I called to get issue resolved and didn't get an apology all they said was we will refund you $10 and hung up on me.

"There is nothing we can do."…read more That was the response I received when I called about my dissatisfaction with a recent order. In a service business, THERE IS ALMOST ALWAYS SOMETHING YOU CAN DO. The real question is whether the relationship is worth protecting. It takes one thoughtful decision to build loyalty and only one rigid moment to lose it. When I called, the tone of the man was immediately defensive. It was made very clear that there was no intention of rectifying the issue, only explaining why it did not warrant correction. Here is what happened: * The flowers were delivered three days before the requested date, which ruined the surprise for my mother. I was told, "We still completed the delivery on the correct day." While technically accurate, service businesses do not sell technicalities. They sell experiences. When you send flowers, timing is part of the product. The emotional impact is the value. * I ordered for February 14 and called on February 23. Yes, nine days later. I was out of the country. I was told it had been "weeks" and that nothing could be done. I was also told the recipient could have called. Asking someone to report dissatisfaction about their own gift shifts responsibility onto the customer and diminishes the sentiment entirely. Strong service companies remove friction. They do not redirect it. * I asked for what I felt was reasonable: another arrangement that reflected the price paid. Instead, I was offered 10% off my next order. A future discount does not resolve a current issue, nor does it inspire confidence to return. As a business owner, I understand margins and retention. Ten percent is a minimal concession, and applying it to a future purchase places the burden back on the customer. Standing behind your product in the present builds trust. Deferring resolution weakens it. * I spent $176 on a small arrangement composed largely of filler flowers, carnations, daisies, and baby's breath. The hydrangeas appeared spray painted. For comparison, $85 at another local florist resulted in an arrangement three times the size. Premium pricing requires premium quality. When the product does not align with the positioning, credibility suffers. * During the call, I was reminded that it was a snow day and the business was closed. I understand weather happens. However, how a business communicates during inconvenience reflects its culture. Customers should never feel like an interruption. The only misstep on my end was calling nine days later. The early delivery, the quality relative to price, and the decision not to offer a meaningful resolution were within the business's control. In service, being technically right is not the same as being relationally right. The businesses that last understand that protecting trust sometimes requires absorbing a small cost in the moment. It would have taken one simple gesture, sending a replacement arrangement, to retain a long term customer and future referrals. Instead, ego seemed to matter more than principle. Bon Voyage, Bon Amour. Never again!

When I inquired about gift wrap for an item I was informed that no gift wrap was available for sale items...no problem...then the sales woman proceeded to wrap a two piece crystal glass and bedside carafe in one piece of tissue and I asked her to rewrap it so that it wouldn't break. The owner Stephanie Finklestein stepped in, grabbed it out of my hand and said," Maybe you just shouldn't buy this". We were all shocked at this behavior from the owner of the shop. Another customer was purchasing several angora wraps for gifts and simply asked to be reminded what colors were available (after being forbidden to open the plastic bags to look at them) and Ms. Finklestein replied, " I just told you..." What is really interesting is that on the website Ms. Finklestein was a former social worker and "She takes pride in creating an intimate and personal shopping experience inspired by an unspoken but deep tradition of gift giving to strengthen bonds and honor memories." She talks about her people skills, deep insights into people and desire to "really know" her customers. All I can say is it must have been a rough season for Ms. Finklestein. Avoid The Elegant setting like the plague...just walk on by....there are plenty of upscale gift shops in the Hamptons where the owner really appreciates your business.

And this is the only monogramming shop that I was able to bring MY OWN throw to for it to be monogrammed. I was in HEAVEN the past few weeks with Stephanie offering her "fall clean-up" sales and I actually visited the store once a week to see what new goodies Stephanie was putting out! I was so happy to be getting a William Yeoward vase for more than half-off, I didn't even mind that they had just run out of newspaper to wrap it in as I was paying. I was one of those dreaded late in the day shoppers and it was near closing time. C'est la vie - it's looks so amazing on my living room table, who cares what I brought it home in? I feel really sorry for the reviewer before me, who perhaps just got Stephanie at a bad moment - she is only human after all - and would probably have felt just awful had she thought she hurt someones feelings. I've seen her deal with some extremely rude shoppers while I've been there shopping and she does a wonderful job of keeping her composure - in situations where I'm sure other shop owners would not.
