I kept seeing The Half Cookie all over TikTok so I finally decided to give it a try. I visited on a busy Saturday morning so there was a wait which was to be expected. I ordered a chocolate chip latte which includes chocolate chip cookie dough syrup, espresso, milk, chocolate cold foam, and mini chocolate chips. Unfortunately, there was barely any cold foam in the latte, just a small drop. I don't think I should be paying for a specialty latte when it only has a tiny amount of cold foam. My latte also looked nothing like the pictures I see online (I assume because they were busy?) I did enjoy the cookie, but I thought it was a bit pricey at $10 each. Note - there is a large parking lot shared with other businesses so parking  will not be an issue. read more

My son's absolute favorite cookie spot! What's not to love? Huge cookies with interesting, delicious flavors. His faves are salted caramel, traditional chocolate chip and the brookie! The thin cookies are SO delicious. Crispy, buttery and so much yum! They also have crazy coffee drinks that are super popular. I am not a coffee drinker but was so excited to see they had matcha. I can't say for sure whether this place lives up to all the social media hype, but I can say they serve up a pretty tasty cookie that is up there with levain and chip city for me. I will say, I tried their original chocolate chip, and it's definitely on the sweeter side and is made with almost a crumbly cake-like dough which is most prevalent around the edges. As for the center, it's gooey and doughy as can be, which is delish imo. Still, it maintains a nice crispy exterior. As for the service, it's pretty quick and the employees are super kind. The ambiance is chic with a few touches of rustic/baker-esque decor, but definitely a small place with no where to really sit or even stand to wait. Which is tough because if you're like me, it'll take you a while to decide between their many delicious looking flavors. Overall, though I've had many cookies that are just as good if not better than this one, I can still assure you this is a great option and one of a kind for the area. This 3-star review breaks heart. Though there was a long line, it moved fairly quickly. Once we made it inside the beautiful shop, we were greeted with nothing smiles and the barista made some recommendations based on our likes. So, we were off to a great start and were excited to try the drinks and the cookie. We ordered the Cannoli Latte and Marathon Fuel for drinks with a churro cookie. The presentation was 10/10 but they fell short on the actual taste side. We had requested the drinks to be on the less sweet side, but they were extremely sugary and we couldn't even get through half of it. Now the cookie was delicious. It was soft and gooey with filling in the middle. Decent sizing but definitely pricey. I wouldn't go back for the drinks but I would be down to try other cookies. read more

Truthfully not worth the 1 hour, 20 minute wait in line. We ordered one of the specialty coffees (The Britney) which was basically Dunkin' Donuts with lucky charms on top. The store is super tiny and their machines can't keep up with the extremely high demand that they've been getting so the espresso machine kept breaking down. It broke down 1 person before I got to order and from the sounds of the manager, it happens frequently and they need to wait 15-20 minutes for it to cool down (probably the reason the line takes so long). When we did receive our 3 drinks, one was made wrong so we had to wait again for the correct drink. I will say when we were waiting they came out with samples of the cookies which was nice! The Funfetti and Chocolate were fine but trying them made me realize that I didn't want to buy cookies once it was my turn to order. read more

The Half Cookie is a in a small storefront located right next to the Star Market in The Street. There's a few seats inside if you'd like to sit and eat, but this seems more like a come by for a cookie/coffee/drink and keep going. I think that style is perfect for this type of bakery though. The cookies were delicious! We got the Sea Salt Nutella, M&M Oreo, and the Boyfriend material. It was kinda wild that our total for 3 cookies was $25. The cookies are so dense too that we could only eat half in one sitting (because we literally got full!), but when I saved the other half to eat later, it's not nearly as good as it was when I first tried the cookie when it was warm out of their oven. I had been dying to get my hands on a cookie butter latte from the half cookie! I visited on a Friday around noon and waiting in line about 20-25 minutes. It wasn't too bad! I ordered a latte and 4 cookies and it was over 30 dollars. The cookies are very expensive but they are massive. I don't think I could even finish one on my own. I got the Nutella Sea Salt, Churro, M&M Oreo and Salted Caramel twix. I was super excited for these delicious flavors, and while they were delicious, they strangely all sort of tasted the same. I wasn't really picking up any notes of the described flavors. They were great cookies but next time I would probably just get one. I really enjoyed the cookie butter latte! Ironically did not come here for the cookies but rather the fun cookie themed coffees - we had the chocolate chip latte and cookie butter latter and enjoyed both (I personally preferred the cookie butter). Super cute place! Loved the numerous monthly specials and huge cookies. The Frosty Latte featured unique snowman drawings on each cup and the cookies were big enough to share between two people or to save half for later. It seems like the place isn't really set up for coffee. It takes a while - not necessarily a bad thing but it's clear that coffee is not the #1 priority. The coffee just... wasn't good.. The Nutella s'mores had no Nutella- it was a tart hazelnut latte with delicious marshmallow cold foam which was the only highlight. A newly opened little cookie shop in Chestnut Hill located next to Star Market. I'm was excited to see them open a brick and mortar store since I've been following the Half Cookie around and getting their cookies at different pop up shops around Boston. I came in on a weekend morning right when they opened up and you can smell all the freshly baked cookies. There were too many good options to choose from so I asked the owner for her recommendations. She said her favorite was the og chocolate chip - a classic - so I got that and decided on one other PB cookie. Unfortunately that was still cooling off so she offered me the colossal half pound cookie prepackaged instead. She let me know to warm it up in the microwave for about 15 seconds for the best results. I ate part of these cookies later in the day and they were delicious. The colossal cookie can definitely be shared with friends or not if you want to indulge in all the chocolate, m&ms, and fixings inside. I was already at a near by store and saw someone inside so I popped in to ask, but was immediately met with "we're not open yet!" so I turned around and left. No "hello" no, "sorry, we open at xyz time" So off putting, felt so unwelcome as if I was about to rob the place. I've been following this business on social media for the last year, and the thirst traps that get posted to their account finally drew me into the storefront. (Yes, I bought 3 coffees for myself.) While I waited for my overdose of caffeine and sugar, I had a great chat with both the employee and the proprietor, who I am so happy to see is expanding her business after following her cookie journey on social media for the last year. The interior of this particular location is small, but it's super cute, clean, and inviting, and I can only imagine that the new location in Winthrop will be just as great and then some. In addition to my 3 coffees, I enjoyed the Salted Twix Cookie on this visit. I had previously tried their Brookie, OG Chocolate Chip, and a few other specialties at Seaport, so I knew what I was getting into. The cookies are big, gooey, and delicious. They're pretty sweet, so you'll definitely want to have milk on hand. As far as the specialty lattes go, the Chocolate Chip Latte was probably my favorite. The Salted Maple Cold Foam on the Bottomlyss Bite was a little too much for me, but the latte itself was tasty, and The Rachel was good, too. This has been blowing up on social media and I think it's well deserved! It's a been outside of the city, in a shopping mall but that helps with easier parking. No line when I went mid Sunday. A lot of cookie options - the funfetti and oatmeal choco chip were amazing. I also got their choco chip coffee which was also delicious, sounds overly sweet but it wasn't. Waited in line for about an hour at the Brookline location which isn't an issue since the place is very popular however once it was our turn to order the person in front of us ordered $120 dollars worth of cookies which left us with little to no options since there was no cookies left. I also liked the flavor, obviously made with very high quality ingredients but also thought center was way too undercooked and the outside a bit too crunchy for me. I thought the cookies were supposed to be 8 oz and when I got home I weighed it and it weighed only 5.8 oz but I saw on their website that the chocolate chip weighs 6 oz so I will give them a pass on that.
