"When you run to the rocks The rocks will be melting…read moreSo, downpresser man, where you gonna' run to?" (Peter Toash) The Pressed Café has eleven locations sprinkled throughout Eastern Massachusetts and New Hampshire. We had an excellent lunch experience with a delivery order from their Newton, MA location. We had a Kids Cheese Quesadilla ($8), a Single Pressed Hamburger ($7.75), a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Bagel ($8), a Coconut Curry Bowl ($14), and an Egg White Breakfast Burrito. My Coconut Curry Bowl was great, and pretty close to anything I get at a Thai restaurant. The bowl was loaded with Roasted Carrots, Broccoli, Zucchini, Summer Squash, Red and Green Peppers, Grilled Onions, Pineapple, Spicy Fresno Chili, Cilantro, Lime, House-Made Spicy Coconut Curry Sauce and was served with a side of White Rice and a whole grain pita bread. I added in a rock-bottom $1 surcharge for some grilled chicken cubes. It was a big portion and half of it went in the fridge for the next day. The Pressed Café's menu is very deep with Daily Specials Burgers and Chicken sandwiches, Coffees Smoothies, Raw Juice & Tonics, Acai Bowls, Breakfast All Day(!), Salads & Soup, Kids Meals, Paninis, Signature Bowls, a Vegan Menu, and plenty more. We were very satisfied with our food, value, and portions.

It's honestly a mixed bag here .. it's freezing inside the store in the fall /winter for some reason and the service can be painfully slow , especially when there's a long line and the cashiers are running their mouths with some random guy up front about BBQ (?!) instead of moving along to the next customer . An annoyed customer behind me even had had enough and barked "uhm , can we get some help please?" after seeing an employee listlessly staring into the distance doing not much for several minutes . The employee "woke up" and sauntered back to his kitchen post slowly instead of picking up the empty cashier station in front of him. Maybe it wasn't his job , but oooof did it leave a bad impression of not giving a fck. The bagels are good , but the atmosphere feels like a cold subway stop convenience store .. needs help with efficiency and heating . Also not charging a 4% CC fee would be nice .. interchange is cheaper than that , I used to work in the card industry . 3% should be cap realistically .

They redesigned the place. They replaced the booths with tables so I think there is more room. I…read morehad a bagel sandwich for 8.00. I thought the price was high. I guess I am paying for the new furniture. The bengal sandwich was good but for 8.00 it should be. Parking is on the street. I would think twice before returning when I can get the same thing for a fraction of the price.

I like the high ceiling but although the cafe looks pretty big, seatings inside seem limited. The tables were really small and close to each other. I ordered - Braised Short Rib & Eggplant Couscous Bowl - Maple Aleppo Chicken - Iced and hot Black Sesame Latte There is self served water and you pick up your own utensils. They also bring you your drinks as well as your food order. The short rib size was a bit small but ok value for $20. It tasted pretty good. I like the eggplants as well. Adding fresh pomegranate on top of it. Gave it refreshing touch. We were also visiting the area so I bought a souvenir mug. There was so no price $ on the rack and it was a bit expensive $25. At least I didn't need to pay for parking. The sesame latte is a seasonal drink. It was pretty good! We liked it.

Great ambiance - sophisticated, classy, fancy yet casual decor and vibe. They had some menus on a little table when you first walked in, in front of the pastry display. Lots of pastries consisting of a variety of muffins, breads, sweets, etc. The menu was pretty big, filled with breakfast and lunch items, and a selection of beverages. It is an order at the register/counter type spot, so you can easily order for there or to go. The staff working were friendly and had quick turnaround times. There was also a fancy coffee station where they made the fancy espressos, cappuccinos, etc. There were various seating options - it was crowded when we went so it was kind of hard to find a spot, but we managed. We ordered small and got a muffin and lemon poppyseed bread slice and two cold brew coffees. We technically ordered for there so they served them on sturdy plates. For your cold brews and regular coffees, they had a coffee-condiment station - ie creamers, oat milk, sugars, etc. plus silverware, napkins, etc. and the cleanup bins for when you are done with you meals. The muffin and bread were delicious - the poppyseed had a nice lemon glaze! I would definitely consider going back to try some other bakery items and something from the kitchen. It had a nice, upscale but casual vibe and seems like a hot spot place for the area.
