I ordered a huge to go meal from The Halal Guys, and I was very encouraged by the great service and delicious food! The baklava cheesecake was the star of the show--wow! The chicken and beef bowls were also delicious. If I had a chance to try them all, I would! The service was friendly--I really enjoyed the mix of languages I heard behind the counter. That's what this country is all about! read more

The Halal Guys - Halal Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

This is our go-to if we feel like halal food. My favorite is the Combo (Chicken and Beef gyro) plate and my wife gets the falafel plate (vegetarian). The hot sauce is super-hot so add it slowly to your taste. Simple yet super-delicious and filling. Highly recommend. read more

I'm actually very impressed. When Halal Guys opened in Downtown, I remember seeing how crazy the line was. That was years ago, and it's my first time trying it. It was worth it, it's really good. I had the beef gyro. They send the sauce on the side and don't underestimate their hot sauce. It's hot!!!!! (I love hot food. I put spice/hot sauce on everything). The rice is good with great consistency (I grew up eating rice every day, so it's important). My daughter had the chicken platter with falafel. The food was good but could have used more pita bread. Also, they are heavy with the lettuce. On both the gyro and the bowl. I will def be eating from here again. The price is amazing too read more

A belated review from having Halal Guys while in Somerville for a college graduation. We got the family meal deal thru a delivery app and for reals it fed us for days! You are lucky to have only Halal Guys in MA just up the street, or at least within delivery distance! Enjoy it! read more

Love a quick place like this with delicious bowls! The regular size was good for dinner and lunch the next day so that's nice (only a dollar more than small). The employees were friendly and the restaurant was clean! My favorite part was that they have a refrigerator full of their sauces for the customers that you can put however much you like on your own! read more

The Halal Guys - Make your own bowls with the white sauce! - Halal Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Stopped by here on opening day and managed to snag the bogo ticket they were doing so I got two for the price of one! The staff were really kind and friendly. They were going through the line to give folks water so it seemed like they were really prepared for the day. They were also taking orders as quickly as they could but with masks and music, miscommunication happened at some points during the ordering process. During a non grand opening day, I assume it wouldn't be as busy or loud. The food was great! Definitely did not disappoint. The portion was large and the meat was cooked really well, and of course the sauce was the highlight! You can truly add as much as you want - no judgment from anyone. I'd suggest not being as generous with the red sauce though - even if you like spice, it's definitely not something anyone could handle in large quantities. Next time, I'd want to try their falafels for sure. So glad Porter Square has a Halal Guys now! read more

Grand opening! It's nice to have Halal Guys expand more to the greater Boston area. If you haven't experienced Halal Guys look up their review at the original location before it became a franchise in New York City. The BOGO offer is only for first 100 on 8/6 and first 25 on 8/7 and 8/8. read more

Love this food. Spicy hummus is spicy beware. I love spicy food. Fresh and fast and tasty. Highly recommend.

I' ordered halal guys via delivery a couple of times so far and I'm a huge fan. It's the most perfect late night food. I got the falafel bowl, and it always comes with extra white and red sauce. All the ingredients seem fresh and always delicious! read more

Amazing food! Love the mixed bowls. However, beware that it becomes strangely greasy when reheated.

Amazing Chicken Gyro! Great spices and tender meat! Very large portions, I will recommend it to all of my friends!

Delicious as other Halal Guy locations! I usually get the small chicken platter with a scoop of hummus, and the portions are large enough that it'll last me two meals. -- The power of carbs! I placed most of my orders through the app and just bike there to pick up my order without wasting time at the line. Doing this, you're also collecting points. Highly recommend it! read more

I was quite looking forward to Halal Guys opening a location right here in my neighborhood as its one of the many things I missed since I moved up here from NY. I had some reservations on the price knowing it most likely won't be like what we pay for when it was just served out of food trucks. If the food was awesome I had no qualms about paying for it, but honestly the food itself wasn't too spectacular either unfortunately. I'm mostly biased since I've eaten quite many different chicken/gyro over rice plates when I was living and working in NYC so I try not to be too harsh. Honestly my biggest pet peeve would be the portion size of the salad as it took up half of the container already before anything else gets added. The chicken seems not as flavorful as well, tasted more like rotisserie chicken and lacked in spices that you usually see. The gyro however I had no complaints definitely one of the better components in the platter. I tend not to like the white sauce too much but it's nice that the staff didn't just go ahead and spray it all over the plate before I asked her to go easy on the sauce haha. I think they'll do well at this location seeing there's really a lack of gyro/chicken rice variety here so it does fill a need but for me it'll just make me miss the NYC halal food carts even more at this rate. read more

The Halal Guys - Combo gyro/chicken platter - Halal Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

I came here for the BOGO opening event. It was lit! The staff were very kind and provided water for people waiting in line in the hot sun. There was a DJ inside, balloons, and a ribbon cutting ceremony with the mayor of Cambridge. I got 2 of the combo platters which lasted me for 4 meals -- not bad for $11 per platter. I liked the chicken a lot more than the beef gyro. The chicken was fresh and juicy while the beef was a bit dry and didn't have as good of a flavor. The chicken is obviously being prepared very fresh. I would definitely just get a chicken plate next time. The salad seemed fresh and the pita bread and rice were good sides. The sauces were the usual Halal Guys sauces (I had forgotten how spicy that hot sauce was!). I'm happy to have them in Porter and am looking forward to stopping by again! read more

So I ordered delivery from the one on Stuart st and despite saying in all caps allergy to hummus / chick peas, they added hummus. This time around I did walk in order. No hummus this time horray! The vegtables are pretty standard and fresh, the chickens pretty good/seasoned. They are generous on the tahini, garlic aioli and hot sauce. Not as good as some other places, but still would go back for the area. read more

The Halal Guys - Gross - Halal Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Spent $30 on two small beef platters. It was terrible. The beef tastes like it comes out of a can. Not real beef at all. Trust me. Really gross. They offered hummus to my daughter who loves hummus and it was sooooo spicy she was in tears. I tried it and my mouth was burning. No one orders it because of the large amount sitting on counter, thats why they offer it and give u a big spoon of it. Very disappointing. read more

Stopped in here on a Saturday afternoon. I got the regular spicy chicken platter and it was as expected. Service a bit on the slower side despite the fact that they were fully staffed and not very busy. The chicken was tender, lettuce was fresh. Do miss the inexpensive platters in NYC but still affordable ($12.99). Got sauce on the side but if you eat in, there is an abundance of sauce in the fridge to add as needed. Recommend checking this place out! read more

Classic Halal Guys - one of our favorites. Quick, tasty, and consistent. Always gotta get white sauce and hot sauce, onion+peppers too. Plate is the reg, sandwich isn't my jam - it's just overflowing so you lose sauce and messier to eat. read more

I come here from time to time and usually enjoy the experience. Today my experience was the opposite. As I was going through the line I could tell that I was being mocked (in a different language) by two of the employees. Making comments and then directly laughing in my face. I could tell this was really happening because the woman at the cash register looked very uncomfortable and ashamed for her coworkers. Such an upsetting experience that I will no longer be coming back to this spot and certainly no longer picking up lunch for my employees here. Extremely disappointing. Plenty of other places in the area that offer just as good food, if not better. Plus, this is a chain. read more

The Halal Guys - 2 Beef Gyro Sandwich - Halal Near Me - Cambridge, Massachusetts

Food is mediocre in taste, lacks flavor. Falafel was on the dry side. Meat could be more moist. I asked for a "few hots" and I was given about 10 which also altered the flavor of the dish to being fairly hot. Read the menu carefully, many things are extras. $$$ PS: I'm home with the runs. Last meal was last night read more

VERY pleasantly surprised by The Halal Guys in Porter Square as well as in Boston at the Park Square Building. I walked in thinking about my culinary experiences in Europe and found that they do a pretty good job in Porter Square as well. I ordered the Beef and Chicken Combo Gyro and was served a good sized portion for $11.99. They even have the huge slab of beef on a huge skewer behind the counter! Lots of veggies, pita bread, chicken and beef in a huge bowl with a choice of sauces. Hummus and falafel are also on the menu. I opted for taboule for a little bit more and readily enjoyed all of it. They could upgrade presentation from aluminum and plastic and service at the counter was partly engaging, partly surly based on who you were standing in front of at that moment. Overall, fresh, plentiful portions at a reasonable price in basically clean, pleasant surroundings. I have gone back twice already! read more

Rice and sauce are both tasty. But falafel is stale and cold. I was bummed since everyone was raving.

But far the worst customer service ever. Please hire people that speak English. I mean I hate to write this but the person who picked up the phone had no clue what so ever of what I was saying. My order was never delivered and when trying to explain to her what happened she wouldn't even listen And blamed it all on the delivery company. Well as your customer I only know YOU the halal guy. You hired the company to deliver my food.. deal with them not me..!smh read more

The food is good but not better than the NYC location. In NYC, the combo is lamb and chicken. They used to serve lamb at this location when they first opened but stopped doing that. Not sure why, maybe its not popular outside of NYC. In NYC, I don't normally have to get alot of white sauce and red sauce because the meat is so flavorful. The two stars is for the manager that works there. He seems like a nice guy and works hard but he seems unprofessional and I get a dirty feeling when he serves the food. All the staff wearing yellow polos looks so professional and clean. They are in uniform and they look well put together. This manager has his sleeves cuffed, he wears his hat backwards, he has on a mask but it just covering his chin exposing his face most of the time. His shirt is all wrinkly. He just looks very unprofessional and just got out of bed. The entire place looks clean and the staff looks clean and professional But the way this manager looks, it doesn't fit the store. He looks like he belongs in a run down restaurant in NYC. read more

Pretty much the Mediterranean version of Chipotle. Solid food for an okay price. Only negative is lettuce and tomatoes take up a lot of the plate-- not a lot of chicken or other protein read more

First time I try a Halal Guys location so no comment on how it compares to the original NYC stores. I had the small chicken and beef platter and found both to be a bit too dry. The chicken was much better in my opinion. The rice could use more flavor. Overall a filling meal but I've had better. read more

If only i could give them zero stars, I would do that. Worst customer service where they were bickering about charging extra for spicy chicken in spite of mixing it with regular chicken. The manager has no sense of customer service. Haven't dealt with a worst restaurant manager. Wouldn't suggest going here unless you want to spoil your mood. read more

Went in for lunch. Ordered the chicken and beef combo. Platter consist of small chopped pieces of meat, a lot of shredded lettuce, tomatoes (no dressing), bright orange rice and 3 very small slivers of pita. All extras are .50 to 1.00. Olives, tabuleh were my extras and they were piled on top of my other food. Tabuleh was literally chopped parsley with possibly 1-2 small pieces of onion- completely unseasoned. Chicken and beef have some kind of breading, are of indistinguishable taste. Only the slight darkness of the beef gives it away. Food was Not hot, Obviously re-heated . Hot sauce was hot, I'll give them that. A waste of money. read more

Yuck! tasteless and cheap quality food. I had the falafel wrap, the pitta was soggy.

(SERVICE not food). I have been here many time and really enjoy the food. Normally I'll order a small chicken platter and can't finish it because the amount of rice they give you was decent. I go today with my mom and say let's split a regular (knowing the amount of rice normally given) and they didn't even give us enough for one. When I said something they pretend not to understand me. As we're going down the line of topping's mom says yes to olives but because I don't like them she asked that they put them on the side, we get to the counter and they charged us 3.49 for something that comes with the plate. Not sure if the person/people were new but today was horrible! read more

I had lunch my daughter and I few days ago at this restaurant. Customer service was great, my daughter enjoyed her beef shawarma plate. I ordered a falafel wrap, although the taste of the Dany was good but the way they assembled the sandwich wasn't the best. A falafel wrap isn't like a gyro. The falafel wrap should made with pita bread and the falafel should go first on the bread not last then the toppings go after then the sauce. It's easier to eat like that and the falafel doesn't fall off. Again the place has good food and it's clean and the service is always great. Thanks read more

We've been to locations in California, NY, Las Vegas, New Jersey, and Virginia because we love Halal Guys. Unfortunately this location in Cambridge MA was the worst as far as taste, portion size and customer service. They were so cheap that they charge an extra $1 for parsley (not tabouleh) and 75 cents for a small packet of hot sauce (ketchup packet size). Wow we were surprised because all the other Halal Guys locations give the hot sauce packet for free (even 2). In addition, unlike other locations, they will not give military or uniformed personnel a discount. Not even 10% according to the manager. Very bad!!!! read more
