No shortage of televisions in this place. Think Buffalo Wild Wings but with a huge menu, actual silverware and plates. A lot of spicy on their menu. Lots of beer/booze. My son loved his Mac and cheese, my mother enjoyed her BLT with avocado. I wasn't a huge fan of my meal, it was grilled chicken with cheese, peppers, onions and mushrooms. The cheese is dry and makes the whole dish look slightly unappealing. I was bummed I didn't order some of the other things that looked yummy. I will next time because we will definitely be going back. I'd have given this 5 stars if any of the three employees I asked questions to, would have had an answer other than "I don't know". read more

I wandered in here based on other Yelp reviews. Decided to sit at the bar and order to go. Very nice bartender, and very helpful. The place was crowded and this was at 9:00 on a Wednesday. Lots of atmosphere! I had the smoked chicken wings, with the house sauce (bartender recommended). They we're SO good! I ate on the that night and again for dinner the next night as well. Great happy hour specials from.sushi to burger, loaded tator tos and sandwiches. The menu has so many options it's hard to choose! We went with the Loaded Kegs, tator tots smothered in ranch dressing with cheese and topped with bacon and scallions. Delicious! Vacation at the beach, after check-in we went here since I spotted it on the drive in. We we tired, hungry and in need of a beer. Thought we hit the jackpot. 2 beers ordered after straining to look at the beer menu which was on a large screen TV and scrolled through their vast list. No paper beer list that was disappointing. It was happy hour so we ordered starters. Disappointing chips with a super small portion of guacamole. The chips were odd and the guac tasteless. Loaded kegs were good, got soggy quick but were good. Dinner came. Nothing special. The pulled pork was odd my companion said. My chicken ranch wrap was standard fair. The sushi was enjoyed as was the burger another friend ordered. Service was OK seeing as the place was hopping. Took 2 mini growlers back to the room to enjoy later since the beer was the highlight for me. read more

Went here from the Broadway at the Beach one, other one had a 40 minute wait. Came here, got a table quickly! Our server Ash was friendly and quick. Food was to die for!!! Sushi is great, wings are great, and nachos are too. Beers were pretty good aswell. The place gives off a nice vibe with lots of decor and solves an issue in many restaurants I dislike, the TV'S. Most returants seat you in ways you cant see the TV'S most angles, but The Grumpy Monk has TV'S all angles and one giant TV. I would totally recommend The Grumpy Monk to anyone! read more

Food was good(not great) but our experience was completely ruined by our rude server Hannah. The restaurant appears to be a late night service. We were a large group coming in for a late dinner. It would've been easy to make a significant amount of money off of our group, but Hannah was rude and inefficient. Liked this place and the staff was mostly friendly but one of the servers was a little rude. Aside from that brief interaction the place was great. Parking was easy, the food was good, and the drinks tasted great. I loved that you could play Mario Kart on N64 or watch games while you eat. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but I like the pairing suggestions on the menu (see pictures). They can really help when trying to decide what to drink. Although it was not too crowded on the night I stopped in, I could see this place getting really crowded for big game days (such as Monday Night Football). If you'd like a relaxing place to enjoy a drink and have a decent variety of food then this is a great place for you try! read more

The food was good, not hot though. We waited 40 minutes for our appertizer and 55 minutes for our food. Server never brought refills, be had to flag her down or other waiters/waitress. People showed up 50 minutes after us and within 15 minutes had all their food. Was gonna order desert, but didn't want to wait any longer. While waiting on the bill I went to buy dog treats and a cup but the hostess said he couldn't help and he would get a waitress, but one never showed. Overall would never go again. I ordered my burger without the knowledge of the entire ingredients list and I am elated to be surprised. Never in my entire life would I think peanut butter would work on a burger. A burger with cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and pickle works with peanut butter! Who knew?! If I had known it was on the ingredients I would have passed but I didn't and I'm so happy. The crab dip was full of crab with a spicy kick, the hot wings have the taste of rotisserie, the sexy grandma is a fruity delight and the Palmetto Lowcountry Pilsner is a must have. Both were really good, though I don't think the crab dip was as spicy as I thought it would be. I got the BLT with spicy aioli and that was really good, my husband got the breakfast burger and it was huge and he loved it. One thing I ordered the steak which comes with a salad. In the south, they bring you the salad out with the meal. In the north, they bring you the salad first before your meal. Let me tell you I have eaten at Cheeseburgers in Paradise, Landshark, Flying Fish, and a couple of other places. This was the BEST meal I've had all week. The other places the food was really good. Trust me this place is awful. One of the most disappointing foods I've had in a while. My family and I had ordered takeout to only find our food thrown around with little to no care, sauce packets open, and a sliver of meat. Shoot Chipotle a severely bigger portion than the grumpy monk. Honestly, I was excited, as the restaurant gave a family welcome energy, but the food can not be excused. We had family visit from NY and we took them there around 4pm 5/25/24 they set us at table that had not been cleaned off and my niece leaned against the table and her shirt got stuck in some nasty sticky food stuck to the side of the table. The waitress seemed annoyed when I asked her if she would clean it. As someone who has worked in the restaurant industry, I can honestly say that Savannah E needs to take a few classes. She checked in one time and was MIA the rest of the night. Her biggest priority seemed to be dishes. Food took about 45 minutes to come out and there wasn't even a packed house. Also, my veggie burger looked like it was on the grill for a few hours, burnt as can be. The manager was very kind to take my burger off the bill.
