This is a gorgeous park situated in a lovely little town. The play area is good enough for toddlers and older kids. The foam floor is the softest I've experienced in outdoor parks! There is a train seating area which makes for cute photos. And the best part is is we were there around 1pm and the trees did a great job providing shade.

Wonderful place to bring your kids! Especially on hot summer days. :] The playground area has lots of shade and there is shaded seating for parents to watch them from. It's a gorgeous park. There's even a small water area for kids to splash and cool off in the fountains. Beautiful hidden gem. Highly recommend!

This park/community gathering place has it all! Seriously! Here's the low down... ~Its got clean and well stocked and maintained restrooms (2 stalls), baby changing fold out center. ~Great play area for the kids. 2 toddler swings, 2 child swings, a play train, really cool play structure. ~Plenty of shade and picnic tables. ~Gazebo for entertainment, live bands etc. ~Kids water fun area. ~Large grassy area for a game of soccer, frisbee or just to picnic out on the grass! ~Selected picnic tables have checker boards on them! Checkers anyone?! ~Pathway around whole park, great for the lil ones with scooters. ~Parking is on street but mostly all around park is FREE parking. ~Beautiful landscaped park with plenty of flowers for the butterfly to sip nectar from...so keep your eyes open for them! ~Right next to a small convenience store, so if you forget something just walk on over a grab the extra water! ~Water fountain for humans and non humans!

Really like coming here for the concerts in the park they have on the weekends. It's relaxing and this place always stays so clean.

The Grove has lots of shade and is in the middle of downtown Clayton, surrounded by some restaurants and stores.

The Pavilion has been a staple for Concord's entertainment scene hosting some notable rock bands…read moreand other renown artists. I returned for the first time in 15 years and can honestly say not much has changed. The place is decently clean for the most part, but I did notice that the cup holders in front of my seats had spider webs all over. Later on during the show I was attending, the spider came out I ended up having to kill it. I think the lack of up keeping has been due to a noticeable decrease in ticket sales. I attended a rock concert that hosted 8 bands, half of them big names and the place failed to sell at least 40% of the tickets. I believe that was due to the economy and also the fact the concert was taking place on a Sunday. Regardless, this place has some places to pick up on. The pricing was interesting, some food was expensive as you'd expect but there were hidden gems like a $12 free refill soda cup and also $2 hot dogs. I also appreciated the fact we could bring in practically unlimited sealed water bottles and an electronic spray fan with no issues. What was a huge difference compared to my prior experience was that ushers didn't ticket anyone in the seating areas, probably because there were so many empty ones and also a lot of people were trying to escape the heat/sun. Overall, I had a decent experience this time around. Staff were friendly, parking was free, and unlike most venues, you can actually find a surprisingly good deal for food and drinks. Concord Pavilion, now the Toyota Pavilion gets 4/5.

I'm writing this review to save people from ordering the shrimp scampi here…read more My niece chose this restaurant to celebrate her birthday, and it was also my sister's birthday. There were four of us. Everyone except me is very fond of red meat--I am not. When I looked at the menu online, I was happy to see they offered several non-meat options. I decided on the shrimp scampi and looked forward to it all week. What a disappointment. The six shrimp arrived at room temperature, and the butter sauce they were sitting in was also barely warm. The shrimp did not appear to have been cooked in the sauce at all. They looked and tasted like plain boiled shrimp--exactly like the pre-cooked shrimp you can buy at Costco. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if that's where they came from. The sauce tasted like pure melted butter, with no noticeable garlic or white wine flavor--just plain butter. I suppose this is what I get for ordering a non-meat entrée at a steakhouse, but if you can't make a decent option for non-meat eaters, don't bother putting it on the menu. The French onion soup, however, was delicious. I would order only that again if I had to return. The creamed spinach was just okay--honestly, the one I make at home is much better. The baked potato was also very good and served piping hot, which I especially appreciated after the tepid shrimp. I did not order dessert, but my niece and sister both had cheesecake. They did not charge for it since it was their birthdays, which was very much appreciated. They also do not serve bread at this restaurant--or at least none was offered or brought to the table. Another thing I found strange was the layout. There is a very narrow hallway leading to the dining rooms on the right, and right in the middle of that hallway is the computer station where the waitstaff enter orders. I would hate to be a server here--it seems like one of the worst possible places for it. People were constantly trying to squeeze past while the staff were standing there trying to work.

So we were delighted (and surprised) to see an advertisement for a play in Clayton put on by a local theater company - the Clayton Theater Company. Community theater in Clayton? We had to check this out! With a super convenient location, we chose a weeknight evening showing. A short drive to the theater, free diagonal parking literally across the street from Endeavor Hall in Clayton, reasonable ticket prices - this definitely was not a San Francisco or Berkeley theater experience! We were fans before the show even started. This was true community theater. Much work was done by volunteers, people giving their time to foster arts in their community. Talking to some people involved in the production, rehearsals went on for a couple months beforehand, actors and musicians rehearsing hours into the night after working a full day. The play was "Radio Hour", a dramatization of a 1940s radio variety hour production. The play was wonderful, and featured a marvelous blend of drama, singing, dancing and music. The live music really made the show. As a bonus we took away insights and an appreciation for the behind-the-scenes work of early radio productions. Endeavor Hall has constraints as to stage size and we admired the creativity behind the stage setting and production to optimize what they had. Unbeknownst to us, the Clayton Theater Company has been putting on productions since at least 2013, typically at least a couple a year. Past productions have included Arsenic and Old Lace, Urinetown, Rumors, and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown. They won several 2017 Shellie Awards. Community theater fans in the area owe it to themselves to check out the Clayton Theater Company.
