I am so happy that I found the Groutsmith. Colin is the owner and he is honest, reliable and knowledgeable. Colin's prices are reasonable and fair. He also adviced us on getting a fan in our shower in order to avoid mold and mildew in the foreseeable future. His assistant Chevy came to repair a cracked grout which was causing water leakage that Toll Brothers grout crew did not do a good job with the grout when they built my home almost four years ago. Her knowledge and expertise was greatly appreciated. She did an amazing job with the grout repair, cleaning and color sealing the grout on my floor as well. Chevy also gave me some options for my shower floor rock as I was so discouraged and not hopeful. I will definitely have them come back to regrout withepoxy grout for my shower floor and walls. We hired Groutsmith Boise, to clean and reseal the natural stone, polished marble and grout, in our walk in shower. Apparently, they sent an inexperienced employee. He cleaned our shower, resealed the grout with a colored sealant and applied a hydrophobic sealant to all surfaces. Before he left, he instructed us not to use the shower for three days, to allow time for the sealant to cure. After three days, we used the shower and noticed the polished marble was badly smudged. It looked as if car wax had been applied and not removed. This was from the sealant they applied. I attempted to remove the smudges, to no avail. We also noticed their technician stained the natural stone along some of the grout lines. The stains are approx. 1/2" wide and permanent. We called Groutsmith and they sent another employee out who attempted to remove the smudged and dried sealant from the polished marble. She was moderately successful. The polished marble still looks worse than it did before they cleaned it. read more

I never reviewed this great company here, but it is time. I started using them about two years ago , when the home we purchased had some pretty bad grout work (and that is putting mildly). Upon taking possession, I started looking for "tile guys" to make the corrections. I had two full baths (w showers). The prices were very high. Then we stumbled upon the magicians at Groutsmith ; Mike and crew. What good luck! Not only were they very reasonable, they were so reasonable and did such nice work, we turned the half bath and kitchen over to them to do, as well. Their did not really "need" it, but Groutsmith makes everything look like new; I like new. Fast foward to 2 years and here I am. Everything STILL looks great. I have called them back for smaller jobs and the crews remain top flight. When you meet him (and you will meet him because that is the kind of business he runs) you will be able to tell immediately that he, really loves his work and he takes great pride in his business. Since Groutsmith is a franchised business, I'm going to assume Adam M listed as owner in the owner statement below is a former owner for this franchise. Because the current owner, Mike Tucker, and his crew are the ones who recently sealed the tile in three showers and bathroom floors in our new home. They did a super job. We recommend them. Mike himself is a professional guy with a delightful style who shows up when he says he will and delivers exactly the top quality job promised. Our home is a new one and by rights the tile installers should have done the sealing when the tile went in. But our not so great home builder used a woefully inept business to do the tile install, some of which had to be removed and redone TWICE and after we moved in because in an MO that was typical for the build of this house, neither the sub supervisor nor the builder paid attention to quality detail until the homeowner caught the problems. So when the builder's chosen tile sub installers didn't do the sealing, we were so done with working with incompetents hired by the builder that we hired Groutsmith ourselves to be sure the work was done right. Mike Tucker and the man working for him both went above and beyond. Bravo. I notice several "high five" reviews behind the Yelp filter. Our home was built in 2013 and after about four years the caulking in the corners and around the bottom perimeter of our walk-in shower needed repair/replacement. I called in The Groutsmith and I am so glad I did. Not only did they replace all of the caulking but they color sealed all of the grout in the shower and surrounding tile floor so that it looked as good as it did on the day we moved in. That was a couple of years ago; I held off writing this as I always think reviews on how well products and services hold up over time are so much more valuable. I am happy to say that the caulking and grout still look brand new. Use this company if you want results that last. My wife and I are retired now, but we once owned a property management company back East. Our shower tile looked like it needed to be replaced. Seriously, I figured on about 20 grand or so, I kept putting it off for obvious reasons. Groutsmith came in and made everything look like new. We had Groutsmith come out to our home and fix all the calking around the edges of our shower. They were all broken and growing mold. We also had our shower deep cleaned and resealed. There were also some floor tiles that were coming up. They fixed about 6 tiles on our floor. They were on time and worked for hours. The guys were great. They were even ok that our 90 pound Boxer Max had to supervise. They came in right on quote. We are so pleased. We were worried our shower was a total gut job and now it looks just fabulous.
