My wife recently broke her hip after slipping on a ceramic tile floor. After considerable research into making our floors safer and slip-resistant so that something like this could not happen again, I made The Ground Floor my first call. I am very glad I did. Adam took the time to walk me through his recommendations and explain the entire process. The first step was to thoroughly clean the tile and grout using a high-pressure steam process to prepare the floor for the non-slip treatment. The second step was applying their "Trusty Step" non-slip treatment, designed to make the tile much less slippery, even when wet. This was a large job--over 1,200 square feet--and from the very beginning I was impressed. On the first day, Adam's crew arrived right on time, literally to the minute. They carefully moved several large pieces of furniture that I had not had time to move and then went straight to work. They missed no detail. A few hours later, the tile and grout were exceptionally clean. What impressed me just as much as the quality of their work was their willingness to accommodate our circumstances. The crew leader, Leiser, worked with me to arrange the job so there was little to no disruption to our daily schedule. My wife is recovering from a broken hip, so we had visiting nurses, physical therapists and medication schedules to work around, as well as caregivers coming and going for our special-needs son. It really was a lot to work around, but somehow they managed it with no problems at all. The next day, they returned to apply the non-slip treatment while working around those same constraints. Gustavo did meticulous detail work around the baseboards while Leiser applied the treatment. After the proper setting time, the product was completely removed and the floors thoroughly rinsed. There was absolutely no residue, no mess and no detail overlooked. Leiser and Gustavo are an amazing crew--friendly, professional, considerate and extremely detail-oriented. I cannot speak highly enough of them, Adam, or The Ground Floor. Most importantly, we are much more than satisfied with our newly slip-resistant floors. After what happened to my wife, having floors that feel substantially safer means a great deal to us. I never usually leave reviews, but feel compelled to share that we had a really great experience with Adam from the Ground Floor. What began as a horrible accident with some sort of bleach or cleaning product dripping on our travertine floors and etching an area from a powder bath, across our entry and down the halls causing us to get bids to review the options available to clean these horrible stains away. And The ground floor did a wonderful job!!Adam, the owner, is very straight forward, honest and professional, and gave us several recommendations of ways we could handle the situation. His bid was competitive with the market, and we chose to work with him because he had good reviews and we really felt like he seemed sincere, thoughtful, and professional. He was so easy to talk to where a lot of the other companies would send someone out to give us a bid, make a lot of promises... but then we found out that that would not be the person who would come out to do the work.... and we liked knowing who was going to be actually doing the job and working in our home. In the end, we ended up sanding most of the stone floors of our first floor and steam cleaning our kitchen, and we were so happy with the results. I was referred to The Ground Floor years ago by a premier tile manufacturer when I was having an issue with their tile. They were able to remedy the issue and I began using their floor products for all my tile floor cleaning needs. Fast forward eight years later and I hired another service to clean and seal a different area of my home. After two days of this other provider performing his work I came home to an absolute disaster. Water marks all over my tile non-porous floors that I could not remove with mopping. I spoke with the other provider and his "fix" didn't make sense to me so I made the call to The Ground Floor to discuss. This was the call I should have made in the first place. They are so knowledgeable. Sent pictures of my flooring, spoke over the phone to discuss the solutions and scheduled them for two days later. They came in expecting the fix to be one thing and when it wasn't working they showed me what was going on and offered another solution with the promise to remain until they figured it out. What they first assumed would be a couple hours turned into 8! I appreciated that they didn't stop until they found the fix. They do the right thing, not the easy thing. I should have called them first and not wasted my time. Now trying to get a refund from the first provider which will likely be futile but I am super happy with my floors again and will not make that mistake twice.
