The Grill - Jim McClusky - Burgers Near Me - Dalhart, Texas

A classic sandwich shop. Although they decor is dated, everywhere you sit or walk is very clean, and the atmosphere is comfortable. I was particularly impressed with the kitchen cleanliness, as I stared behind the counter it was impressive. The grill, the fryer, the cook, stove, and the floor again, all very clean. Our food was delicious. It arrived quickly and exceeded our expectation. Chelsea did an exceptional job of taking care of us, she was attentive and friendly, which made our time there even more enjoyable. I personally enjoyed hearing laughter coming from the kitchen area, the staff seemed to genuinely enjoy being together and at work.... it was odd to see a child brought in through the drive of window, he spent a few minutes saying hi to everyone and then back through the drive up window to be driven away. It was just weird not wrong or unsanitary ..I guess it kind of added to the casual Family atmosphere. read more

Ate here two days in a row, one for breakfast and one for lunch. Food good both times and the staff were very friendly. Small place, but always busy. read more

Originally we went through the drive thru (beware: overhead clearance isn't for lifted trucks!) but decided to go inside and order to-go since we all needed to use the restroom anyway. The restroom is located in the back, through the kitchen just follow the signs. The employee taking our order was very friendly and our food arrived fresh from the grille as their name states! There is also a wonderful coffee menu in case you need a pick-me-up! Great place to stop for food and drinks. read more

Can't say enough about the Outstanding service!! They also had a broad menu and a very clean restaurant. All our diners enjoyed their burgers and I especially liked my chicken strips. It was a little odd to walk through the kitchen to go to the restroom but it didn't detract from an overall positive experience for our road-trip lunch stop. read more

A great place to stop on a road trip!! Traveled thru from Colorado Springs to Mississippi and stopped here for late lunch. Service was excellent and food was fresh, hot and delicious!! Very good size portions!! Clean and bright decorated read more

The food was fast and freaking delicious! We had the green chili burger and smash tacos which are essentially a burger patty smashed on the grill with a tortilla and topped with lettuce and jalapeño and guacamole- so good. They also had a great coffee and tea menu and we tried "the Johanna" because that's my name and it was really good. Like a white hot chocolate with espresso. We would make a point to stop here anytime we are traveling through. read more

Stopped in after passing this tiny, jumpin' joint, a million times. From the moment you walk into the cozy diner, the employees make you feel like you're eating at their home. They take Texas-sized pride in what they are doing here. Their breakfast omelettes, pancakes and the house specialty, The Slopper, were all tasty as was the coffee. The drive-thru was busy with coffee drinks, sandwiches and carryout orders flowing from the tiny, efficient kitchen. Try this sleeper place for breakfast, lunch (burgers looked amazing with crinkle cut fries), or dinner. This community supports this place...great to see! We'll be back for burgers (green chilli burgers are on my radar here) and steak fingers! See ya soon! read more

Stopped in for breakfast while traveling, everything made fresh!!! The biscuit made from scratch and the hash brown and tater tots were a nice side! The customer service was above in beyond! If you're hungry and driving through this place is a must stop! :) read more

I love places like this!! When we're traveling, we try to find the mom and pop restaurants that the locals go to. This one was a win for sure! It's a cozy little diner with the best waitresses and the food is banging! Their menu is extensive and they have a coffee menu that rivals any coffee shop!! I got the taco plate and the taco shells were made fresh and they were so crispy and delicious! This is a must if you're in or near Dalhart! read more

Really nice people and a really good green chili cheese burger. Road construction was awful but the burger was worth it.

How I ended up in Dalhart Texas is one story we don't have time for , but this magnificent burger earns 5 stars . Nothing quite like a honest burger at a small diner in Texas. read more

Found this on the Yelp. The steak fingers were amazing mini chicken fried steaks. The chili was perfect (no beans). Service was outstanding despite the cozy restaurant being chock full. Passing through town and hope to be back soon! read more

We had a wonderful experience at The Grill while traveling through on our way to Colorado. We stopped in for breakfast and enjoyed friendly service and delicious food. Our son has an egg allergy and I had to ask them several questions to which they were very helpful about finding the answer. We enjoyed delicious food without food issues and we loved the small town feeling of the restaurant. To top it off, some sweet stranger ended up buying our meal. So thank you Grill patron. Lovely experience all around. read more

The service was great. The lady that took our order was very professional. This place is a sit down with table service. Our order was taken quickly and the food was delivered soon. We both got burgers. Mine one without bun and with green chili small side salad. My wife got a burger dressed the way she likes. Big plus, the burgers are hand made. Not the thin presses ones you get at the chain, nice thick hand made one. Everything tasted great. This is a small place, has been here for many years. From the outside you would not suspect how good the food is. Most of their clientele is local people. This would be another place I would visit if in the area. read more

Unassuming location where one may not expect such great food! The flavors are fantastic, the fried foods are crisp to perfection and everything was fresh! Also has that super cool semi crushed ball ice in the Coca Cola! They made a Carmel Malt that was the real thing! Days later I am craving another one! If you're in or going through Dalhart, TX. I highly recommend. read more

Driving through town so thought we would stop by. It looks like an old Dairy Queen from the 1960s that's been converted so a very quaint atmosphere. The chicken fingers were excellent, soft and tender. Fries and onion rings were about as good as you can get. The hamburger was OK but was a little overcooked. The service was very good. Overall, I would stop there again, but would pass on the hamburger for something else. read more

Cute little hole in the wall. I ordered a chicken sandwich and a side salad. The sandwich was crispy, the chipotle mayo had just a hint of a kick and the pickle was crunchy. as someone who has lived in the small town in dalhart where my family has been since the 70s ive seen a lot come and go. There is a good reason the Grill stays. Its home like and warm. Good all around American Style food with good service. Every part of the business is run by women which adds to the charm of the place. Prices have definitely gone up due to the economy. We found this little gem on Yelp and we were very glad we did. It's Avery small cafe-feel restaurant in a small town. The bacon cheeseburgers were the perfect road food for our travels. What a great find foodies! Driving back from Colorado we found this quaint little restaurant with every booth filled with locals so we sat at the counter. It was the BEST decision ever! If you want to see 'work flow' come here. Drive thru, counter, restaurant were hoppin and so were the ladies running the food show. I cannot recall a better burger. The meat was char-grilled, buns were toasted, veggies were fresh. The taste was absolutely delish. Fries were cooked perfectly and slightly crunchy on the outside. YUM! I didn't want to leave. The commaderie was fun, we visited with the owners and other folks. I felt welcome there. So did the patrons in the restaurant area, locals, mostly, and friendly too. There's malts, milk shakes, pies for dessert. YASSSI had the chocolate malt because... I'm from out of town. lol Get off the highway. Take a break. They'll serve you Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner. It's worth your time and you'll 'feel good I did this' thing. Ya gonna love yourself. read more
