First time at a Golden Chick. I ordered the Big & Wicked Combo (their spicy chicken sandwich), and…read morewas confused when the response was "do you want it spicy?". Is there a spicier version of the Big & Wicked Spicy Sandwich? The next question was "do you want cheese?", not "do you want cheese for an extra 50 cents?". I'd have preferred the latter. The drink cup I was given had damage enough to ensure that a lid wouldn't seal good. The sandwich was quite good, but my daughter didn't enjoy her 2-piece fried chicken combo as much. I like fried okra and was glad to be able to order it, but it was a far cry from really good fried okra. Google says the address is 521 South Hwy 87, but my receipt says 520. I wonder which is correct? Overall, I don't regret stopping in, but I'm not raving about the experience either.

I was particularly impressed with the kitchen cleanliness, as I stared behind the counter it was impressive. The grill, the fryer, the cook, stove, and the floor again, all very clean. Our food was delicious. It arrived quickly and exceeded our expectation. Chelsea did an exceptional job of taking care of us, she was attentive and friendly, which made our time there even more enjoyable. I personally enjoyed hearing laughter coming from the kitchen area, the staff seemed to genuinely enjoy being together and at work.... it was odd to see a child brought in through the drive of window, he spent a few minutes saying hi to everyone and then back through the drive up window to be driven away. It was just weird not wrong or unsanitary ..I guess it kind of added to the casual Family atmosphere.

This Wendy's -- located inside a gas station in Dalhart, TX -- was one of the worst fast food…read moreexperiences we've had in years. From the moment we walked in, it was clear things weren't right. The floors were sticky, and every open table was covered in trash. We should've turned around immediately, but the kids really wanted Frosties. Big mistake. We ordered two specialty Frosties, and instead received a half-melted chocolate-vanilla swirl -- one of which was supposed to be birthday cake or something similar. When we politely asked the cashier about the mix-up, she just shrugged and mumbled something unintelligible. No apology. No correction. To be fair, they got our food order correct -- but that's about the only thing they did right. Unfortunately, the food tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. Which is strange, because they were actually busy -- three groups ahead of us, about 10 people total -- and yet it took nearly 10 minutes per group just to place an order. Not exaggerating. The wait was absolutely maddening. Worst of all? Not a single employee acknowledged the poor service or slow pace, let alone offered an apology. Bottom line: NEVER AGAIN. Dirty, disorganized, slow, and unapologetic. Skip this stop -- no matter how much your kids want a Frosty. You'll thank yourself later.
