Not good. We ordered chicken taco salad, chicken enchiladas, helote, and asada fries. Every dish was covered in the same gross unidentifiable white sauce. It wasn't sour cream, maybe some kind of flavorless mayo?? The chicken and other sauces were meh. The beef in the asada fries was very grisly. I'm all about great no frills hole-in-the-wall authentic Mexican places. Yelp has steered me to a couple (one amazing place in El Paso, for example) but this wasn't it. Don't pass this place up just based on its unassuming exterior appearance. Service was very friendly and helpful, and the place is nice and clean. They made a vegetarian burrito for me, with the exact ingredients that I requested. It was Delicious and very filling. My husband chose a cheese quesadilla and was very pleased with his choice, too. In addition, they have a chips and salsa bar with loads of selections. This will be our new stop when heading from Denver to Dallas. Highly recommend! Thanks for a great experience. read more

Everything is fresh and delicious. These little tiny tacos are the best I've had in ages. You'll need 3 or 4 but it's sooooo good. I tried the carnitas and the asada. Hands down the best asada I've eaten since I left San Diego/Tijuana area. And the carnitas were amazing too. Not greasy or dry - just perfect. If I lived here I would eat here Daily. The Posole cured my sinus congestion and tasted fabulous! My hubby said the quesadilla was the best he has ever eaten.

We should have walked out. There was a loud high pitched ringing the whole time we were there that was almost painful. There are no diet drinks so my husband asked for water and was told there was no water! They said they had tap water but never got it for him. Food was uninspired. Stopped at 2pm on Sunday. Guac was fresh and authentic, chunky with jalapeños and onions. Azada tacos were the best IMO, my son liked the barbacoa and my daughter liked the chicken, but I thought both were just okay. The tortillas they use are very good. All of the tacos came with raw onion and cilantro on them, so have to ask if you don't want either of those things on top. There's a chips and salsa bar, some really good salsas. Needed breakfast / brunch, something quick and easy; the reviews rated this place as top notch. The directions were easy to follow, the road conditions were good, and there was ample parking even with the long rig (18') we're hauling. Walk in - through to the back (the place is pretty large) and order at the counter. I think there were three different meats on tap for breakfast burritos; my partner ordering the bacon and I chose meatless - eggs, potatoes, cheese. Each picked up a drink and easily found a table to wait -- dining in. The place is spotless, the floors, tabletops, walls, ceilings ... while waiting i had time to take it all in. The preponderance of their orders must be call in and online as there was a steady stream of people picking up brunch (it was about 10:30am CTZ when we arrived). There too were people placing orders to go, and a couple tables with people dining in. Steady stream of business. The breakfast burritos are HUGE, one is more than enough on average per person. When we each unwrapped our burritos to add our condiments the food was steaming, this was hot off the cooktop. There's a salsa and pico de gallo cart, which includes homemade tortilla chips. Bathroom pit stop before we left - I can attest to the women's bathroom being very clean. read more

I called at 8 am to order to go & it was very hard for the lady to take my order because their was music blaring in the background. It took a few minutes to order because she couldn't hear or understand me. I had to do my best to guess what they were serving since there's not a menu online. I went in about 10 minutes later to the same blaring music. It was very loud for it being 8 am or any other time of the day really. My food wasn't ready and I should've just walked out then. I admit, this was my lack in judgement, but it was early & I was in the middle of no where TX. No one had on masks. The lady who took my order actually judged me and was rude to me for wearing a mask. "Is ok," she tried to say when I tried to figure out how to hand her my credit card without getting too close. I told her I was going to see my grandpa and we should all have on masks. That's when she started mocking me in Spanish. I mean honestly, when the workers at this place catch the Rona it's not going to be good. There are no health clinics or hospitals around, they had a jar trying to raise money for someone else's health issues, and $3 burritos aren't paying for medical bills. Unless you're anti science, anti vaxxer, or anti brain then avoid this place. Cut your losses and go to McDonalds down the road. The chorizo breakfast burrito was DRY. The huevos rancheros was soggy. Stopped here on a road trip. I'm traveling with my boyfriends family and am not capable of going to the restroom when I'm with them because I am shy. This restaurant is exactly what I needed. The salsa was watered down which helped water down my huge bowel movement stuck inside of me. I want to thank the people at this establishment. They didn't wear masks, but not all hero's wear masks. The guacamole was a huge serving and more onion than Avacado but that extra spice was everything I didn't want but didn't know I needed. My quesadilla wasn't crunchy but was the extra push I needed. Let me preface this review by saying I'm a native San Diegan and am half-Mexican. This was - hands down - some of the BEST Mexican food I've ever had. And I've eaten a lot of Mexican food in my life. My husband and I were on a cross-country drive and stopped in Dalhart for the night on a Sunday, and there wasn't much open. Thankfully we found this place!! I ordered tacos (pollo, asada, and carnitas) and was instantly pleased. I ended up ordering more when I was done. My husband got a chicken quesadilla and was equally pleased. The homemade hot sauce was also on point. Highly recommend the light green salsa if you like it spicy. After reading the other glowing reviews our experience proved to be somewhat disappointing. The negative side is much more about the ambiance rather than the food. We visited early evening on a Sunday, several hours before closing. What should be a clue is a hand written but framed sign on the wall saying in part; "We have archived records to verify the health department visits". (One could only wonder why such a disclaimer is appropriate) The place is large and there were only 2 other parties in the dining room. Many of the tables were dirty, the floor was a real mess, the Hot Sauce bar looked like it hadn't been serviced (was mostly empty) or cleaned in a very long time. What appeared to be a tray for self-serve chips was empty and the trash cans were all over flowing. The tea (from the soda fountain) only flowed clear water. The TV was up so loud it was challenging to converse with the cashier. Having said all of that, it could just be a bad day for them. Your experience may be different. On to the food... The menu on the wall behind the counter is about 90% Spanish. That's certainly OK but for this gringo it is challenging to make an intelligent choice. We ended up ordering ground beef Tacos (they are street tacos) and they were tasty. Please know in advance this is traditional, likely authentic Mexican food, not your Americanized Tex-Mex.
