Fresh Whitefish!!!
Drew S.

A hidden gem in Indian River. Just turn in when you cross the river and wind your way to the clubhouse. There's a cute little pub/bar area, a lovely sunlit dining room, but the star of the show is the wraparound deck. I love a restaurant that has local fresh fish and the GG does not disappoint offering whitefish, perch and walleye. The whitefish was delicious served with duchess potatoes and fresh summer veggies. The perch was great too as I speared on off my dinnermate's plate. You can add soup or Caesar salad for three bucks, so the value here for a wonderful meal is excellent.

Nice intimate dining room with a beautiful view

We enjoy sitting on the outdoor patio during the summer. Fish tacos are fantastic.

The food here was decent. I got the Rueben and it was good. The service was extremely slow when we were there.

Great food and service. Relaxing atmosphere. Good stop for lunch or dinner when in the Indian River area. Great golf too.

Great service and a wide menu selection, my mom had the tacos and my wife loved the brisket tacos…read more I had the pork chop special and it was amazing. I asked our server for a recommendation and she quickly said the pork chop and it didn't disappoint! The chop was thick and juicy with a flavorful balsamic and onion sauce, served with diced potatoes and fresh sauté veggies.

The main issue was that we were really hungry, having spent hours waiting on auto repair. The brisket tacos did not satisfy but to alleviate hunger. The flour tortillas were what my sister called 'raw'. They were not heated at all. The brisket meat was lukewarm warm. The cabbage slaw was raw. There was a dab of chunky plastic jar salsa already placed in the middle of each taco. Chips and salsa: the salsa was in a very small plastic thimble. We couldn't even fit a chip into the salsa. The best part about our dinner: the server asked if everything was good. I told her that it was definitely not my favorite EVER. The wonderful thing about this was that she asked me to explain. She did not show an animosity and was truly inquisitive about our dislike of the food. She said that she would tell 'him'. I am assuming that 'he' would be the cook. I appreciated her concern because the bill was about $40 and when my sister can't finish her meal that's a problem. It was about 430 and I hadn't eaten all day so I did finish mine but I couldn't say that I was not pleased with it. Although nothing was spoiled and it certainly could've been worse. I don't know if I could trust going back. I think that they could do a real light marinade on the cabbage to soften it a bit and if they fried the tortillas and maybe offered corn or tortilla in the beginning, it would be an improvement. Or how about if the salsa so called and in such a tiny vessel, it wasn't tasteless but clearly store-bought. Any restaurant should be able to do something with this information. I don't mean to be negative or demeaning, but I do intend to given an honest review based on my impression. Good luck Breakers. I was actually very happy to see that something was open during this flooding season. Unfortunately, I would've driven 50 miles further to have a better dinner.

The menus were posted the specials were up.. when we heard that they serve liver and onions, I asked the waitress if it was something that was really popular and raved about and she said yes. However, when we got our liver and onions, which all three of us ordered, it was less than desired. It certainly wasn't what we expected. I can understand that it wasn't what I was seeing in my mind, which was a thick piece of liver done medium with a big nice pile of caramelized onions, and a creamy bunch of mashed potatoes with a luscious gravy. What arrived on each of our 3 plates was a very (extremely) thin slice of burnt liver which had a couple slices of bacon on it which were also burnt . On top of the onions, where should've been more delicious caramelized onions were about 10 very thin lightly battered onion rings. Well there were good, it was definitely way off the traditional liver and onion taste or look. What added to the disappointment was that the potatoes were lumpy and not done well. I can say that the good part was that they brought extra gravy in a little steel boat. And I needed that to chuck down the dry burnt liver and the lumpy potatoes. If one looks at my reviews, I'm very careful about leaving bad reviews, and I look at anything that might improve them. However, there was no reason that a cook should deliver. Something that's burned, and the thinness of these liver stakes was uncalled for. And with onions being so inexpensive and substituting it for some very thin, odd onion rings I think Gordon Ramsay would've had a field day on this one. We were all three extremely hungry. It was about 2 PM and none of us had had breakfast so we did eat it, but I can say it would've been almost equal for me to have a McDonald's or Taco Bell, which is something that I never do because it's awful. I think you need to improve the style of this dish. The times I've had anything else there. I can say that it was typical American type food, but it passed in my book. This did not, but your waitress was fantastic. I did not take a picture because time just flew by and we made a mess of it too quickly . We had a bad day and we had not eaten, but I did not let that affect our review. I spoke to the two other others that were in my party and we all felt the same. Improve yourselves, please as you are a very busy restaurant and no one deserves to have something like this.
