I will not be going back especially as a paying customer and getting treated like that with the group I was with. Do not recommend! And they also have daily specials that are always good. The service is excellent! They make you feel like family and our entire family, from young grandchildren to those of us in our 70's, love going for lunch or dinner at "our happy place", the 211 Bar and Grill.

Easily the best bar in Petoskey and honestly one of the best ones I've been to anywhere. Yes, as a…read morehometown local I'm a little biased for sure but there is something very genuine and honest about the Pub and the people there. No pretension, no putting on airs or trying to impress anyone, everyone coming as they are. You'll rub elbows with local blue collar and service industry people, trust fund kids, wealthy summer residents, everyday folks of all kinds etc. I think a lot of reviews here are from visitors expecting The Pub to be like the Perry Hotel or one of the more tourist oriented places that bends over backwards and caters to summer vacationers. One even mentioned threatening to "Go ski somewhere else" for not being coddled I guess, which I found hilarious. They also seem to mention food a lot. For what it's worth the food is pretty darn good here, though my experience is usually over some appetizers later at night shared with friends over a few drinks. Solid burgers, can't go wrong with the fish & chips and their cheese curds are surprisingly good, easily rivaling anything you'd find in Wisconsin. That said I've always seen this place as a bar first and a place to drink with friends that just happens to have good late night food too. The service is good and the people working are top-notch and good at their job, but sometimes the Pub can get a bit too busy as there's just not a lot of competition that truly rivals it downtown. That's what happens when barely anything is open late in the post-covid world and businesses seem to be closing left and right. If you can keep your ego in check you'll find a pretty rare and valuable thing here which is a local pub welcoming to anybody and truly reflecting the full breadth of the local community.

The menu included a nice selection of appetizers and ala carts/side items, burgers, salads, baskets, desserts, pastas, etc were on the dinner entree side and available after 4pm. Too bad...the mushroom pasta sounded delightful!! My husband and I both chose fish & skinny fries. What are "skinny fries"? They are the perfect size and crispness!! They are what fries were made to be!! I ate every single delicious one!! The fish was lightly beer battered Alaskan cod and it was just what my stomach needed to tame the serious case of hangries!! I'm not sure if the best part was the first bite or the wonderful smell as it was being brought to our table! (I'm saying this because almost all my life I've lived in KS, the allergy capital of the US, and have never been able to smell things like food until we moved to MI)!! Hubby and I agreed, we will be back for a date night dinner even though this is a 30 min drive for us! Also it's a dress up or casual dress place. We really enjoyed it!

I seen it sitting on the bar. The last time we were there. My wife and I arrived there at 8:30pm on a Friday night. This night was the night of the lighted boat show on the river below. We walk in, the greeter & staff are wrapping silverware. (Staying busy) my wife asks " is there any seating on the deck? The greeter says; I don't think so? But, let's go look. Wow! All kinds of tables! Hmm! So, we're seated. 5-10 minutes goes by and 3 waitresses walk past us. One of them looks me in the eye and walks on by as well. Hmm! Now I'm getting upset! So, the next one I see, I ask are you our waitress? She says, "No, we're on a rotating table service, I'll go get your waitress" our waitress finally shows up. Says " no one told her" so, she makes good, takes our order and drinks. The appetizers and my wife's mix drink comes before my mix drink did. Only to find out another waitress took my drink from the bar; therefore shorting our waitress. Poor service! Young ladies that look clueless. Our waitress was older and knew what she was doing. The food is worth coming back for. But, we'll walk out quicker next time if this happens again. Management needs to train the wait staff better.
